When I first played this. I spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure out how to engage the first colossus. The game made you appear so fragile that I never would have thought climbing it would even be a possibility, let alone encouraged. The moment I took the risk to just run at the colossus and grab stands today as one of my most cherished gaming memories. Discovering a game mechanic rather than it being told to me and using that mechanic throughout the game just felt breath taking... ( I know the voice probably tells you after some time but I clearly was too young and awe struck by the lumbering giant to even notice)

Raymond V.M i know what you mean. i try to not look for quick guide with this game.. but soon.. after spending an hr with no clue at certain stage... i have to look for the guide. would be amazing if one can finish the game solving all the puzzle alone.

Is quite sad about that latest Game (with the DOG/Cat God thing) There was a big fuss before its release.... as they spent like 10 yrs in the making... but after it was released... is just happen to be a massive fail.... such a big disappointment... for all the fans.

I spent the first 30 minutes trying to find the first collosus and when we (played it with friends) finally found it we charged it to just give it a hit out of anger and discovered we could climb it :P (after that we died tho)

Awesome graphics, awesome landscapes, awesome game at all. Waiting for it 😍

I love this game. I’d recommend to avoid all spoilers and walkthroughs, as it’s all about honing your skills, getting a ‘feel’ for your character and discovering the weaknesses and controls of each colossi. It’s extremely finely gauged, you get stronger as you progress, and the seemingly impossible eventually becomes simple. The replay value is enormous and it has tons of little mini games, too.

What a beautiful game... Smart choice to start with the action scene first, and then the beautiful visuals. It really got my attention.

Kauã Nunes Maia 2 of the bosses are exactly the same, it doesn't tell you how to improve your stamina/health bar, some of the ways you're suppose to get onto the bosses and the invisible weak spot during the last cossi, the one on his shoulder and the camera angel during that bit. That's why. Don't get me wrong, I loved the story but the last colossi before dorma, I didn't even feel sorry for him when i finally killed him

awesomekilla112 Trial and error is very bad game design IMO. The fact that you fall all the way down if you fall of his hand, was the worst bit for me. Happened 10 maybe 20 times because I thouhgt you had to jump from his hand to his shoulder.

The battle with the sand dragon was for me the most epic of the game , and look at that graphics omg .If you never played the ps2 version this is the best way to discover this masterpiece

The feeling of walking up to the first boss.. so excited.. no other game has ever giving me the same feel

Almost 15 years later and that music still gives me chills... what a game

I remember the glory of play this game when I was just a teenage boy, i cried with the ending part of this game. It's a piece of visual art and now looks eons better than nothing.

Played it on PS2 before. It's still the greatest game ever.

This is one of the first game I ever played that really had me immersed. I was amazed and it's without a doubt one of my favorite games.

I've always wanted to play this. The way everyone keeps saying it's one of the greatest games ever made, gets me even more pumped up for it. I preordered the Special Edition. It's only 10 dollars more, looked worth it. I love steel cases. =)

I'll have to agree with both of you. I like the simplicity. No loot boxes, power ups, etc...etc. Not saying those games are "bad". I just like how authentic the game feels. It's a nice change.

Seeing the game like this brings back a lot of great memories.. the soundtrack in my opinion is some of the best tracks I’ve heard in a game.

Holy nostalgia Batman! 12 years! It's been over a decade and we finally get to see this work of art rendered on new generation hardware! Take all my goddamn money!

I'm incredibly hyped for almost EVERY yet to be released PS4 exclusive. Step your game up Xbox, give me a reason to buy an Xbox One X.

Fell in love with this on the PS2, and again on the PS3. I'll happily repurchase this again in February. This is a rare instance where a game continues to be remade, but doesn't appear to be trying to cash in. Rather, each remake gets closer to their original vision. I'm all in, again.

Music quality, wolrd quality, game quality rank A+

This game was entrancing when it came out on the PS2. Simple narrative, but an emotional ambiance that very few games have. Cared as much about the colossi as the character, and dispatched them with some regret. This game has true character. As does The Last of Us (another masterpiece) and Portal (the first one) in a different way. A very special game and the do-over looks great.

Makes me want to play it all over again

I hope they add the bosses they had to leave out due to time constraints in og version

Ismael Minaya unfortunately, they didn’t add anything extra to the game. This is purely a graphical upgrade. The developers have stated that themselves. It’s a shame and a missed opportunity :/

Peter Andersen That defeats the whole purpose of me even getting this game, I mean I'm extremely grateful that the remake is being made but this is just lazy. The extra Colossi could have expanded the lore dramatically and the longevity, especially since there are still some questions that haven't been answered since the original. This is a massive let down....... Damn.....

The addition of new collosi would have been very nice... If there isn’t really a difference between the remastered and remake versions beside graphical quality why am spending $60 for just that. Looking more and more like a cash grab to me now.

The last time I played SotC was 2006. Promise this game will again, be critically acclaimed after its release. For those who hadn't the chance to play SotC during its hay day back in 2005, this is a must game for any platformer fans. I remembered I played it with my cousin and friend just to find ways how to beat a certain colossus because it is somewhat like a puzzle since you're trying to locate its vital points while climbing the colossus' body. It's very challenging I must say!

Nope. One day I was game shopping for PS3 awhile back and it was this game or Skyrim. I went with Skyrim. Completely overlooked this. So my first experience with Shadow of the Colossus will be on PS4 PRO.

The scenery looks fabulous, I like it a lot

It makes me so unbelievably happy to see that this is just an updated graphics/environment remake. They didn't add a whole bunch of unnecessary clutter or mechanics, they just took the original game and brought it in to modern times. When I saw "remake", I thought movies, and remakes are usually very different from the originals. So my initial thoughts were skeptical, but I'm thrilled to see that feeling proven wrong. It looks amazing.

I look forward to this game!

This is not a game, its an art. Saw a salesman playing it in a videogame store way back during ps2 era, and I thought it was a movie. Minimalist gameplay but goosebumps every time opened way starting to play always gets me. A classic of classics.
