One of the most beautiful intros to a video game ever looks absolutely amazing all PS4-fied. That music as well...

I played this gem when it first came out on the PS2. The memories are still fresh and touching.

I don't like remakes, but thjs floored me. Beautiful in every way.

The clouds like giants fighting, Luna shining brightly, Heaven sighing slightly.

I love that we get to enjoy the whole majestic opening...and then see that Agro will still run you into columns again and again

I think it was supposed to be intentional, I read somewhere that agro was designed like that on purpose for realism like as a real horse wouldn't follow every command all of the time, also the original controls were intentionally put in akward places to make the player feel more helpless in stressful fights.

They cut out a little bit of the original intro ,but still pretty awesome. This game looked amazing on the PS2. The reason it doesn't look quite as good as we remember when we search for the PS2 versions is because it was made for the old tube T.Vs. The Last Gaurdian knocked it out of the park too. I hope I live long enough to see the next game from this developer.

I wonder what the PS5 remaster would look like would it reach 120 FPS then? Will the visuals be more vibrant and epic than ever before? We shall see on the next remaster of Shadow of the Colossus

Amazing graphics with more natural and pleasant contrast and colors, but they made a big mistake: they put sound effects to this intro, and worse yet, they can be heard better than the music itself. The PS2 original and the PS3 remaster don't have sound effects in this scene, and it feels a lot more epic, spiritual, transcendental and emotional. Still, grateful for this remake/remaster, even when I don't own a PS4...

I think they got the use of light wrong. The original constantly had a super overexposed foggy look that was both eerie and beautiful. The remake has this a little but not nearly as much. Definitely breaks the mood for me.

pretty sure the exposure was to hide bad graphics or rendering issues at longer distances. The remake doesnt need to do that.

You could also buy a used ps4 for 150 bucks, i mean it is still worth it with all those exclusives :-) I find a combination of Pc+ps4+Switch is the way to go right now.

I mean who doesn't right? But it's thanks to the exclusive agreements that sony and these studios make that some of these game are even made.

At 1.02 in the top left why is that alien from avp and magneto beach scene (the part of the ai brain) looking towards the sky and why is the a bear on the right under the moon? At 1.50 when he's behind the waterfall is that twig pointing to a pyramid in Peru? is that a horse and elephant fighting underneath the world serpent from Kratos? in the clouds on the left? Interesting game so he needs to defeat all 16 idols to bring her back to life? ShADows of Colos sus. 7.19 blood? 7.22 control beings of light? 8.30 jinn? 9.13 possess the ancient sword?

why does the music sound like its heavily influenced by 70's hindi movie music

I don’t see what the point of putting a video on KZread that’s about something in 4K but have the max resolution on the video as 1080p

WHY did they change the voices? That "invisible" female talking along with the male in the temple is way too loud and along with the robot sounding stutter I am NOT a fan! It's so distracting. Why was it necessary?

It's definitely the same voice actors, but they were probably just asked to redo the dialogue again for the remake.

Its the way dormin is sealed. notice the end, the female voice is gone along with the light from the oculus

Nah, it cant capture the same exact atmosphere anymore regardless with the style they went with. Another part of what makes the original trancendant were the yellow haze and the subtle outlandish-ness rendering of some objects like trees and rocks. Beautiful by its own right, still, and surely lived up to the original's quality without taking its present-day tech advantage for granted. Most "hidden gem" remasters are trashy when it comes to whats improved upon.

@@hansalanson3497 Yeah, I think something is always lost in translation. No matter how good is the remake. Always. I rather like a good remaster. Though remakes like _Resident Evil,_ _Abe's Oddysee_ and this one are really faithful.
