This is the very best video online for the p1206 rb-1!! Thanks for your sharing. Just wanted to mention that I purchased this same machine last year and ran it slowly for the break in period of about 8 hours and then went in and tightened all 3 set screws. Not one problem with the timing yet. After each use i blow the entire bobbin assembly out with the air hose. Great Machine 👍

@williambass5933 thank you for the kind words. I’m so glad you appreciated the video. We love this machine too.
Your needle is in backwards. the groove/;slot in the needle is to the left. The eye cut away to the right. the cut away is so the hook can p0ass the eye of the needle without touching. it works for a while but you'll get much better results doing it right.

I am running this same machine and realized the sail rite fabricator is 90% the same and they have an excellent manual available to download. Edit- Consew now has a manual online, when this machine was released they did not.

I have a 1206RB-1 also. I've been having a problem today where I'm able to cycle the needle stroke a bunch of times with no issue, and then "bam", it starts hitting the hook assembly. I've been wrestling with it all day, and just gave up. I'll look at it again tomorrow and follow your steps. It looks promising.

@@AllanPhillips00 That worked perfectly on that day. Today I'm having an issue where the "inner bobbin assembly" is locked in correctly, but the outer bobbin assembly will not turn freely. I wish there were better operating manuals for these machines.

Actually was finally able to fix this. Had to take the bobbin assembly apart and kind wrench the inner assembly from the outer. There was the tiniest little shred of thread (a thread that had unwound from itself - super thin), that got stuck deep between the 2 parts of the assembly. I was amazed the tolerances are THAT tight. I swear I spend more time messing with jams and stuff than I do sewing. Your videos are really excellent, Allan. I hope you decide to do more re: the P1206 RB-1. It's hard to find such clear instruction on this model.
Nice informative video. I'm trying to help my seamstress fix her machine. I could be wrong but it looks like your needle is 180 degrees off! The long groove that runs up and down the length of the needle should be on the side the thread comes down the needle to the tip and the indent around the eye (scarf) on the other side of the needle is where the bobbin hook passes by the needle grabbing the loop? I think that may be one reason the bobbin hook was hitting the needle?
Great video! Thanks!!!Your bird sounds like a pterodactyl. I was concerned for you🤣🤣

Is material jamed up in the bobbin holder below the needle?
Great video. Any instruction on how to fix the bobbin pressure arm? The manual doesn't tell you how to fix it. Right now the arm doesn't fully snap back against the bobbin winder shaft, thus it won't spin to wind the thread around the bobbin. I (stupidly) removed the arm, put it back but now it won't work right. Any help?

@@AllanPhillips00 I appreciate it. The machine isn't even mine, yet I do all the sewing on it. I'm not stupid but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to fix it. The instructions don't make sense on tighten this or loosen that to affect either the amount of thread spun onto the bobbin. The one screw looks like to me, that all it does is tightened the bobbin pressure arm onto the pin, yet the instructions say its an adjustment screw. If you loosen it, it won't hold. If you tighten it, grabs hold of the pin and rotates as it should. The other smaller arm which is attached to the bobbin pressure arm, again says loosen or tighten, yet all does is lock it into position. It has a hole on top that slips over the pin. Regardless, I hope you can help me. Otherwise, I'll have to take the machine apart, drives hours away to a Consew manufacture, and probably get charged an arm and leg to get it right.
I have the Consew premier 1206-1 machine. The needle does not line up with the hole in feed dog . Plase help me, Thanks in advance

I have this exact machine. It has gotten jammed and won’t move at all. I saw video to reset safety clutch for 206RB but this one is different. Can you give me some help to un jam it?
@AllanPhillips00

Hi Susan, I am currently on vacation and not able to look at my machine in person until Monday. If I remember correctly this machine has a servo motor to drive the unit so no clutch is required. When lifting the machine up and backwards pivoting on the back hinges on top of the table should take tension off the drive belt and allow you to rotate the drive wheel.
If I may ask a question -- is the second time the thread has gotten stuck in the bobbin assembly -- any help would be appreciated ---the last time we took the whole assembly out and of course the machine had to go to the shop to get fixed ---don't know why the thread keeps getting hung up in the assembly--thank you
@AllanPhillips00

Sounds like a timing issue. If the lower assembly is not catching the loop of the thread created by the initial upstroke of the needle it will fail and get bound up.
Hello thank you for this video please I would like to ask so if the Bobing thread is not picking up and loosing could it be the problem of the timing? Please reply me back. Thank you
@AllanPhillips00
2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is a possibility the timing is off. The other problem could be tension setting adjustment on the upper thread route. If the tension is too tight the needle cannot allow the proper amount of slack in the thread for the lower unit to hook loop and allow the upper thread to pull the bobbin thread up

@@mayfairafrifa6084 your very welcome
video was very helpful but still having issues as no matter how we adjust , the needle still has a slight interference. The thread loop isn't big enough that the hook picks it up and bobbin won't pick up
@AllanPhillips00
Жыл бұрын
HI Mike, are you trying to grab the loop of thread with the bobbin hook on the needle upstroke? This point creates the slight slack in the thread. the exact timing takes a bit of experimentaion to get right. There is about a 5-10 degree window of rotational timing to get it right.

Hi Allan. I have a mitsubishi dy350, its not dissimilar. How do you know how deep to set the needle in the needle stem?. Is the hook grabbing the loop at the very bottom of its travel? Many thanks btw
@AllanPhillips00
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen, On my machine the needles are inserted until they bottom out in the needle stem. When setting the timing I have noticed that the hook that catches the thread from the needle works well when the needle just starts the upstroke. This allows a natural loop to start making it easier to be caught with the hook. Thanks for the comment and view. Have a great day.

Hey bud I am new to the world of sewing. I have a consew 146rb-1a but the bobin is not on the side like that one you are working on. It runs left to right. Will I set it the same way.
@AllanPhillips00

Yes the key to the timing is when the hook around the bobbin catches the loop created by the needle for creating the lock stitch. Shouldn’t matter if the bobbin is on the side like mine or laying horizontally.
@FrancisoDoncona

I have the same machine. Look for another video with a horizontal bobbin. Also his needle is 180 degrees the wrong way. The notch on the side of the needle is there for space needed for the hook to catch the thread off needle.
I'm having the most difficult time understanding how do you lock the bobbin holder in place? I have a different sewing machine but it's similar to what you have
