Good job!! Your customers are going to be THRILLED they can use that machine again. But, I don't think you're going to get that canvas apart again. Not unless you have ALOT of time on your hands.😄 Not quite clear on what it was you dismantled under the machine near the bobbin, so I'll watch it again. Great vid, as usual. Thanks much!👍

The industrials have been one particular area I've been avoiding -- both because I didn't want to have to try and work on them, and because I just do NOT have the space (though I definitely have the need for one). And all really the same as my old serger: Just intimidating because more moving parts and faster speeds, even without the computer. This definitely demystifies them a bit, breaking them down into something simpler -- "smaller bites," as it were, so it's nice to see. Maybe one of these days, I'll have the space for a proper walking foot machine, myself!

Our brand new consew that we haven’t even used yet did the same thing. We’ll thread got stuck in the bobbin drum so it would not spin inside the drum. I took the whole bobbin assembly off and got the thread out and put it back and reset the timing. Seems to be ok again? We will see when we put it to work. Only thing I can think of is that the thread got stuck on the bobbin? I’m learning.

Thank you so much , I was able to fix our machine but I still don't understand what caused it to lock up. I did not see anything in there after I removed the piece that turns inside the bigger piece . I cleaned it and oiled it like you did but did not see anything in there except some dust.

Interesting to see another brand. How you loosened the hook to move it but said there's a flat, my juki doesn't have a flat there. Mine I adjust timing and distance right there at the hook screws. I guess all industrials aren't identical. Maybe because that has needle feed and walking foot it's different. When moving to a 110/18 or below a 90/14 or 80/12 I usually have to change the hook distance and sometimes slightly adjust the timing. Usually I can get away with 80/12 at same setting as 90/14 or 100/16 but depends on which I set it to last. When I set for 90/14 I'm usually good for 80/12 or 100/16.

I was wondering how they kept it oiled too. It doesn't have an oil pump. My Juki's has an oil pump and oil pan. They pump oil over to the hook. I have noticed the latest Juki's are oiled differently

This was an amazing video. I had a juki lock up on my friend and it was the hook rubbing on the feed dog plate. I have a 255rb and was curious if you knew where the top oil wick goes into the machine? There's the one that runs into the Needle bar area and one that disappears into the cast iron. That one rotted away and I'd like to replace it

New to me Consew 226 all cleaned up and adjusted thanks to your videos...except that the thread is shredding at the needle. Using Gutermann upholstery thread and cannot seem to get a good stitch...any suggestions? Thanks

Try lowering the tensions, also make sure the timing and needle to hook clearance are perfect. Sometimes very small adjustments in timing can cure it.

Very nice video! But it's disappointing that you skipped over the RE-installation of the hook assembly that you removed in the beginning. That's where I'm stuck at the moment, and I can't figure out the proper orientation for the re-installation of that piece. I'm talking about the piece that goes back in right before the small half round clip with 3 tiny screws. Can't figure it out from the (lousy) Consew manual either. Very frustrating.

Sailrites aren’t really good machines. Bought one and had tons of issues with it. Went back to Consew and never looked back. I tried leaving a bad review on Sailrites website but they take bad reviews down and only put up good ones.

@@SewingMachineRepairGuy thanks I usually try that first before I start looking LOL DO you have a Singer 20U to repair I would love to see some videos on it? I had to remove the clutch disk and almost didn't get it back together correctly, for some reason it had slipped loose and I was skipping zigzag stitches and I could not tighten down the handwheel it just kept slipping.

Took my older machine to a vacuum shop that also works on sewing machines. I bought it used 23 years ago & have no idea of its age, it has all metal parts so I wanted to keep it. Before the pandemic hit I took the machine to my home town to be serviced at a reasonable price (60 miles away). The metal plate wouldn’t stay on. So I took it in to this shop 30 miles away and right off the bat they told me a flat fee of $100, plus parts. I should have left but needed to finish sewing face masks. The total cost was $107.00, he told me the parts for this Singer machine is hard to find, but the plate wouldn’t stay on because a spring was missing under the plate. **how can I find the age this machine was made so I can order my own parts & do you know of a website that sells parts? I’ll not pay that price again, I feel I got ripped off. Thanks!

I recommend sewingpartsonline.com or just ebay for parts. Just search for the model number on your machine. Also, that is a reasonable price for repairs, it takes a few hours for each machine and they have to earn a living.
