I’ve sold multimillion dollar construction projects and commercial property. I don’t waste time with shit tests. When asked questions like where I see myself in five years or the sell me this pen. My answer is. Are you hiring me to do a job? Yes or No; otherwise you are wasting my time. Either hire me now or I’m out of here.

We learned something similar to this from our marketing class: customers have specific NEEDS/WANTS. When you GIVE the customer what they NEED/WANT, you create CUSTOMER VALUE in your product or service. It's kind of like going to the amusement park. Not everybody will want to go to the roller coaster, no matter how exciting or cool or crazy of an experience it will bring. Because thrill doesn't attract everybody. Some may come for the romantic ferris wheel ride next to the sunset. Humans are unique, and so they have unique wants and needs. So fascinating to see this principle applied to this question :)! It shows that Sheena's content is based on key fundamentals and principles. Great teacher.

the technique is don't focus on the product but focus on the client be keep in touch and let the client feel that your not just there to offer something but to open up minds of client that you can give their needs.

Ooops...this reminds me back in 2006 when I was a fresh graduate and BPO was still young. That time, there were only 3 call centers here in Cebu: People Support, E-telecare and newly-opened Convergys. I was already in my final interview after been through initial interviews, exams, mock calls, etc. During that final interview, I was asked by the OM to sell paper clips which I never thought of it prior to the interview. They did not tell me that they profiled me for sales and I was like your first example. However, as the conversation progressed, I realized I had to be very realistic and that was when I started to probe so I would have an inkling with regard to his needs. Darn...glad I got that job.

I had this interview way back 2006, the lady interviewer said the exact same thing to me even before the movie wolf of wall street existed, here is what answer i gave her. Interviewer: sell me this pen Me: ahm..do you really need it ma'am? Interviewer: yes Me: ok hire me then in my first salary i'll buy you a whole box of it so you won't have to buy one for like a year Interviewer just laugh.. The next day news came in and i was called for medical check and uniform fitting 😁out of the 10 applicants i was the only one who got the job

How I wish I could be like yours huhuhuhu I failed so many times in the BPO companies I applied due to lack of confidence and everytime I interviewed by the recruiter, I stuttered and sometimes have a dead air, short/long pauses. I knew it because they told it to me after the interview huhuhuhu It's been a month already since I applied in the BPO industry and here I am fighting, by the way I am bisaya too from Samar Island, Easter Visayas Region VIII. I encountered this question during an interview, my first answer isnt really that great since the interviewer was able to counter my answer i ended up saying, You may already have one but what if You're in a situation where you cant just leave a room or needs to write soemthing quickly only to realize that your pen is missing? So i told him i strongly suggest you buy one more pen just in case you lose your pen. I ended up reaching the final stage of the interview but unfortunately i wasnt able to go to that final interview since another job offer came that same day i was scheduled to go to that interview. Good video Learned a lot of techniques Much Love👌🏻

examples are good, but the scenarios are about a customer(interviewer) that is willing to answer questions. What if the interviewer acted like a super busy customer, a customer who don't want to answer any questions from the seller, a customer that keep saying "I'm not interested" every time a seller asking questions? It is my experience before, that's how hard the interviewer that I encountered and I was failed to sell the pen. I hope you can give me an answer or a strategy that I supposed to do for that. Thank you.

I was asked this question and made the same mistake by trying to highlight all of it's features. I later found out that the interviewer wanted me to say, "Exactly what kind of pen are you looking for?" I had already had years of sales experience but failed this simple test. We always want to overthink it or complicate it. This is really a simple tactic once it's revealed.

Not your fault bro. Interviewers like. that couldnt even sell a pen cold in real world. With a pen as an example to sell thats hard bro even hardcore salesman cant sell a damn pen unless a cx really needs it on d spot.

I don't get it though, you are supposed to convince the pen you're selling not selling other pens to the customers needs and wants. If the setting was trying to sell a specific pen then why ask for the customers preferences?

You're so pretty and smart, Ms. Sheena. This is kinda unrelated but I think it would be better to make your eyebrows less thicker. I used to have the same eyebrows as you but I dyed it to make less noticeable. Also for the lipstick, nude one would be a perfect shade for you. I hope you won't find this offensive. Keep slaying, girl. 💗
