How will you sell this pen to me? Can you sell this pen? You often get asked in job interviews to sell me this pen. You may also be asked to sell something else in other interviews. But the answer to these question has to be given with tact and smoothness. Sir Itna karne ke baad v bohot se HR same customer jesa rply deta hai... Mere pass bohot se pen hai mai kyu lu.. I don't need it. Yeh sub question bohot se HR sirf isi motive se puch lete hai ki baad mai candidate ko reject kar sake... Wese HR Manager ya executive ko kese handle kare... Interview ke time.

I still remember 8 years ago I was asked this question. I simply said that a pen is very important to always keep, no matter what. Also, it's a cheap pen, so you are not gonna lose much on this. "Objection I got" - I alrdy have a pen, no need now. I said - I understand that sir but it's always recommended and a smart choice to keep a backup. Also when it comes very cheap, then there is no harm in it. Backup things generally save us big time and create a good impression. "The interviewer understood that I can do sales and learn it on deeper levels. I was just a University graduate and had no experience in sales at all

Without the experience your sentence framework was good, but you were trying to “sell it to someone who does not need a pen.” Most rookie salesman make mistake by selling it to everyone.

Hi, just a suggestion. I think instead of using cheap, we use minimum cost or budget one. Bcoz majority does not like to buy or associated with cheap products.

This is good. 1) Ask a relevant hook to engage 2) Establish the need for the product 3) Present the solution that clearly addresses the need 4) Objection handling: "need not felt" is the first objection, for which go back to 2) and address specifics. "Too expensive" is the second most common objection, which should never be countered with "but look at all these features". Comparison with competitor prices will only work if there is an urgent need, but even then, sell value. I really liked his upselling the notebook by bundling it as an essential component of the 'knowledge creation" value that was being pitched. This takes talent, but also lots of practice. So ladies and gentlemen, put on your big boy/ big girl pants, go out there, get bruised a few times, and soon enough you will be good salespersons!

Once an interviewer asked me to sell a pen 🖊 to him Then i said buy this pen from me i know you’re looking for one Then he said why should i buy it from you there are many places from where i can buy Then i countered him by saying of course you can buy it from anywhere this pen is available in every shop and store i am offering you pens, notepads & diary on very huge discounts to You and your office employees & also we will deliver it at your office. And then he hired me ₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹₹

This is pure bookish knowledge!!!!! Most sales force team forgets a key element,- i.e. NEED...... Until you don't address or generate need , sales will never go through... Now since we are not at a product development phase, so technically we can't generate need... But we need to identify a target Market,who may actually have a major need of the product.... Imagine putting up a stall in front of an examination hall???

From interview point of view bang on, appreciate the approach and seeding the thought of process of thinking differently. But, Itna time aur patience nahi hota hai, nowadays customer are way too smart. Gyaan do ge toh aage se jawwab aayega gyaan mat do.

By far the best answer is to ask the interviewer to sign on a paper. ( if you don't see anything to write with on him/her) then you just give them your pen, demand and supply. Credits to wolf of wall Street
