I think the reason why it hit Stark and Fern is because both of them were SUPER sheltered when they were raised. Fern basically only had Heiter to raise her out in the woods, and Stark lived in a village of either all, or mostly men and then was found and raised by Eisen. So neither of them would have any exposure to something "sexy" (You can see that when Eisen calls Frieren a "Wicked Woman" when she KOs poor Himmel) whereas Sein is far more of a worldly adult and is obviously into curvier ladies. You did nail why it was so effective on Himmel though. Poor man.

I like how Frieren is clearly trying to tell him that if he doesn't go after his friend, he'll regret it for the rest of his life, but uses the phrasing "You'll regret it in the near future." The rest of his life = the near future for Frieren, lol.

you're caught up just in time for this Friday's episode! its gonna cover two of my favorite chapters in the manga.

Frieren is absolutely just messing with him at the start, she has a pretty dry sense of humor. She conveniently "remembers" the moment Fern is there and she can't play dumb anymore.

Sein showed that he is a man of culture by knowing that a Nee-san (old woman) is and will always be better than a Loli.

@@micketm3 I believe Sein has the same view as me because: a Nee-san is not just an older woman, she needs to look older. I'm still a little reluctant to say that Frieren is a Loli but she is definitely not a Nee-san.

You know, I really like how much you care about characters depth. I can feel you care about what you're watching and can't help but feeling how alike we are. Since you like depth so much, have you ever watched Mushoku Tensei? Almost all characters in that show have a lot of depth and the world building is awesome too. What I recommend the most is to read the Light Novel right after watching the anime as, VERY sadly, a lot of the depth of the characters is lost in the adaptation (which is understandable but a huge loss). The hero is kinda perverted and Twitter keeps raging about subjects covered in the story so I don't know if it's a turn-off for you but the relationships in it are very sweet and brought a lot of tears to my eyes just like Frieren.

I've been waiting for more reacts here in KZread but nothing's been up for a while. Did you drop the series?

For a second i thought id missed an episode but it was just a wild opening sequence that threw me off

yeah, there's a difference between pursuing what you want and achieving what you want. you can pursue whatever you want at whatever age for sure, but actually achieving the things you want gets harder the longer you put them off. it also really depends on what the goal is. could a 98 year old swim at the olympics? sure. could a 98 year old realistically compete and expect to win at the olympics? no. it's all kind of a balancing act between, wants, expectations, and circumstance.
