One thing I noticed after rewhatchin the episode is that Kraft's depiction of the goddess is the only one we have seen moving, Could it be He is so old he met her?

Among Korean Frieren fans, there are a few people who think like you. But based on Krafft's comments, I don't think he has ever met or seen the goddess in person.

This just makes me realized that serie is old af. We don't when was she born but, what we know for sure is that she lived through the mythical era.

@@kiggerst Mythical Era is not that ancient. Flamme lived at that time. So even Frieren lived at that time. Serie is much older

@@faresty7279 that was not the mythical era. Mythical era is the era when the goddess was still present in the world. Kraft said he never met the goddess and he is older than frieren. Meaning both of them weren't born at the time. Serie is the only known living person from that era

One of the many things that makes this show work for me is that they don't explain more then they need to, they don't have a random Kraft flashback or have him monologue about his life, he just says enough, and his character has enough depth that you can understand a bit about who he is. It's fantasy world and there is magic and monsters and all of that, but the characters are what is important, and their actions never feel forced by the plot or frustrating.

This series does an incredible job of eliciting emotions in the smallest ways. It always, always has this small hint of Melancholy around it (that's even felt in the manga) which is why it is such a beautiful story.

A more quiet, but emotional and lovely episode. This show is like nothing else. Btw, more german words: Kraft = force Schwer (mountains) = heavy (mountains) Äußerst = most extremely And Graf is not his name, it's a title. The german word for "count". Like in Count Dracula

  • @stinky-SUS

Yes, it is true, the “Graf” this title, but not necessarily German, but generally refers to the European countries of the Victorian era +\-. This is a person as a manager of his territory under the flag of the common territory of which the king controls. The analogue of the count for the present time can be considered the Governor of the US state (the governor also the European word (the ruler of the province) also has the meaning of the manager, but he is below the count, something like the mayor of the city) p.s (a translator was used, any misunderstanding is not intentional)

  • @UltraHD.7

@@stinky-SUS I mean, "Graf" is the german word for this title, though. In other european countries it would be comte, conte or count. And it fits the show in having named almost everything in german.

Actually, this title in Russian Empire was called Graf (Граф) And fun fact: according to the wikipedia, this title actually originated from the Roman Empire

  • @peffiSC2source

    @peffiSC2source

    6 ай бұрын

@@danil_shishkin According to Wikipedia you are wrong in everything you said though. 1) Graf in this particular use, describing higher ranking nobility has its roots in middle high German. 2) It is derived from words describing positions in the byzantine court and before that from a greek word that meant something along the lines of "writer". It didn't mean what its current meaning describes and there is nothing indicating that it was used like that in the predominantly latin speaking Roman Empire at all. In the Roman Empire the landed nobility were most often the patricians, although there is a slew of other titles and positions that would come with land holding privileges. One of them is "comes" which was used for various court positions in the Roman Empire and from which the english "count" or the french "comte" derives. Graf has a very different etymology that has little to do with these titles. It ultimately has greek roots. 3) The russian title is derived from the german usage. Graf was used in the holy roman empire before a proper russian state even existed. 4) Literally every other name in the show is a german word. Why would you ever think this word was "actually" taken from russian in this instance?

@@peffiSC2source I'm sorry for my bad English, I've been learning it by myself for just a few years now, but do you really have nothing else to do? What I meant is that there was also a title with the same name "Graf" as it was in Germany and, maybe, other countries. It was interesting for me since it's always fun to know how different countries affect each other. I just learned something about titles that existed in my country centuries ago and wanted to share it, did you really had to write an essay about why I'm wrong, even about things I never said? 1) I never said it isn't. The only thing I wanted to say is that the same title with the exactly same name existed in Imperial Russia 2) I never said I'm good at history or did a research on this topic, I just translated the sentence from the Russian Wikipedia. You can also do it, here's the original sentence: "Титул возник в IV веке в Римской империи и первоначально присваивался высшим сановникам (например, comes sacrarum largitionum «главный казначей»)." If you disagree with this statement, you're welcome to correct this mistake here ru .m .wikipedia .org/wiki/%D0%93%D1%80%D0%B0%D1%84_(%D1%82%D0%B8%D1%82%D1%83%D0%BB), it will be really appreciated 3) I never said it wasn't 4) I haven't tried to say it was. I'm sorry if my poor choice of words made you to misunderstand me and I'll appreciate if you can give me an advice on how to improve my English

We don't know much about Kraft, but we do know that he is at least old enough to leave a mark on this world, then be forgotten by people. The hero's party are yet to be forgotten, it will not be forgotten anytime soon. Imagine every festivals built for them no longer celebrated. That would be a fraction of Kraft's life.

To be so old that neither you or anyone you love is remembered. Not even as legends. Imagine knowing you will live far far beyond that memory is lost. Being the only one in the world who remembers that the ones you love even existed. I can imagine the toll, but i cannot fathom how it would feel.

It's explained in the Manga (it's not a spoiler) - that Kraft is a Monk as in "Martial Arts Monk" (think Shaolin). I don't know if he can heal, but that certainly would not be his primary technique. For healing you need a priest.

Everything has names that is a German word for something. Frieren = to freeze, being cold; Fern = far away; Stark = strong; Stolz = Pride; Heiter = happy/upbeat; Himmel = Sky/heaven. Kraft = strength; Eisen = iron. They forgot to translate Graf ... It's the German word for a Count. So it's Count Granat. Granat being a mineral in German. Flamme = Flame. Ewig = eternal. Landmarks tend to have German word for names too... Größe= size, Wille= will. Etc...
