    Such a small detail, but love how when the brother kneels down to teach Stark, his cloak is in the mud showing his love for his brother

    It shows that he did not hold to his father’s ideal of what a warrior should “look” like, but understood the true ideals that a warrior should uphold: protecting and encouraging those who cannot yet fight for themselves. The small details in this adaptation continue to astound me.

    The series is full of subtle details, the reason why the Burger steak is ridiculously big is because you’ll continue “giving it your best” to finish it all, cementing the fact that you’re a warrior.

    Stark is a warrior not a hero (yes, basically a class) and fights with an axe + the whole point of this part is "you don't need this sword to become a hero" Literally every reactor: STARK PULL THE SWORD

    It wasn't about the sword for them, just the significance. And it's more powerful to me that he knows he already has Fern and Frieren. So the sword is a "placeholder".

    This double layered story of why Stark is the way he is now, why he doesn't believe he's worthy and believe in his own strengths, and why he never ran away to the dragon hits hard, and here comes the full realization of what the hamburger meant. Elite episode, backstory, characterization .... but it's funny that what most people talked on social media when this episode dropped was the potion Frieren meme 🤣🤣🤣

    Apart from this episode I tend to get emotional at the same parts of this show as you do, but in this one the moment that absolutely took me out was that after Frieren tells the true story about the Hero Sword, where Himmel thought he could never transcend being a "fake hero" without the sword, she concludes by asserting "He was a real hero."

  • @Astravall
    @Astravall7 ай бұрын

    @14:43 ...I think at the cave with the sword Stark thought about if his brother would be able to pull it out, because he thinks of him as a hero. Stark does not think highly about himself so it does not even come to his mind that he could try pull the sword. In his mind it isn't even remotely possible. EDIT: Oh ok i see ... you came to the same conclusion later on faroh.

    One of the biggest points of this story is that it shows that you don’t need the chosen one for things to matter. Every single day matters. There will likely one day be a bigger calamity and the great chosen hero. The defeat of the demon king will be forgotten after long enough. Greater tragedies will happen. All of that is true AND WHAT WE SAW STILL MATTERS. For most people the threats to their everyday lives matter more than the threat of calamity. The show isn’t about the chosen one is about living to your fullest to be who you were chosen and agree to choose to be.

    There’s some great anime airing this season but Frieren is the only show I look forward to every week, it’s the only show where you leave a episode with something from it whether it be a good lesson or an emotion. It’s a beautiful series with amazing storytelling with great characters. This is anime of the year for me.

    So the VAs for Anya voices Frieren, who does her classic smug face this ep lmao when talking about the dissolving potion. And ofc Loid voices the brother whom we don't see die but sends Stark to run. Just thought there had to be some ironic parallel lmao and if not, coinkidink.

    the thing that Sword Village cant hire other Adventurer is probably used to on how work and reward they got after get done and might not very aplicable to Adventurer, knowing that place where Hero Sword reside and knowing on how himmel doing good deed looks like(apparently big influence by frieren like quest).

    Regarding the sword’s prophecy possibly referring to a specific future calamity that would threaten to destroy the world, it should be noted that the Demon King was not trying to destroy the world, but rather just to conquer it.
