The day my 035 was delivered was the same day they announced they were being discontinued. So I was lucky to pick it up for just over $300. I absolutely love the watch. I love how the lume matches the color of the dial. The hands look skeletonized and the lume on the indices is barely noticeable during the day. I like the 035 more than the 033 for this reason. The only thing I didn’t like was the clasp. The huge gap and only 2 micro adjustments. I’m still using the stock bracelet but I’ve since updated the clasp. There is a video here on KZread on the Watch Me With Watches channel showing how to set it up to use almost any 18 mm clasp. Now my 035 is perfect.

I daily wear a 035. I have worn it every day for a year and cannot complain. Fantastic watch. You cannot beat this! Has the heft and quality feel of a Rolex. If you appreciate mechanical watches DO NOT pass up the chance to get one of these. Even for $500 that are a steal! Cheers if you have one!

I have both just got the 033. These guys feel like long lost friends the second you put on your wrist!!

I can 100% vouch for the SARB035 (and probably the 033 but I've never seen it in person). This video actually does a good job at showing the actual colour, it looks extremely classy. I adore it!

I still have the seiko sarb035. I'm not flipping it . I have a few San Martin watches now . Really . They can not be beat . Great watches. PT5000 or SW200 movements.

I own both watches and they are absolutely brilliant watches. Both are extremely versatile and offer fantastic quality for the price. If had to choose one from the two, I would choose the SARB035 because it's even more versatile than the SARB033 because of the cream/white dial. The SARB 035 looks stunning on leather for more dressy occasions and really fun on NATO straps for a more casual look. I would say I used the SARB035 most because it complements my wardrobe easily and it's ready for most occasions. Also, due to the quality of the watch you don't have to worry about them not performing adequately as it keeps time really good, and it's a durable watch meant to be worn. Great piece from Seiko for under $500.

The 035 looks great on that grey strap... really sharp. Came close to pulling the trigger on a 033 but think I’ll go for the 035.

Which do you wear most now? Do you still have them ?

Both are beautiful watches. In person the 033 is almost more brown than black in most light and I'd prefer a pure black like the SARX for instance. The 035 is super legible from any angle. Both are beauties, thanks for sharing these RR.

First time I happen to be wearing the watch you are talking about. In addition to having the 6R movement, the SARBs also have sapphire crystals, signed crowns, and milled steel clasp extensions. Seiko won't give you those specs for less than $700 now.

Wearing the 035 and my only complaint is similar to a lot of others. The bracelet only has 2 microadjustment positions and I need maybe 1 or 2 more to get the fit perfect. Looking at picking up the strapcode jubilee to make the watch perfect.

I bought the 035 as soon as I heard they were discontinued earlier last year. Dinged it in the first week and I love it. When I acquire my first grail I want to give the Seiko to my best friend; he never wears watches and I'd love for him to wear something this personal and valuable every day.

This is my very second Seiko watch (035 in 2015) and notice on yours the movement is 6R15D while mine is 6R15C.

I have a 035 . You had a 035. Now you have a Rolex OP 39. You know this is killing us ! Lol.

I have the 035 and a Hamilton khaki field automatic . Both are great watches . I got both for $500 each in Canada . I do not know what to get next . I am thinking about the seagull 1963. It looks like a very cool watch also .

Not even close. The Monta is way thinner and wears amazing. The Seiko is great for its price but doesn’t really punch any higher.

Every so often Amazon will have the SARB035 on sale for $318, but the price only lasts a shortwhile until stock runs out. Once the Amazon stock is gone, the listing defaults to their associate sellers, which typically run from $441 to over $500. Noticed them for $318 last week, but that price only lasted an hour or so.

Yeah they just cancelled mine too. So frustrating after waiting 2 months as well. I saw at one point during that 2 months “4 left in stock”.. makes me wonder if they just purposefully forgot about us.

This is a Great Dressy Watch for this price range but please advise the difference between the 033 & 035 models. Also, please advice if this water resistant range is good for swimming. Many Thanks for the nice review.

I’ve kept my 035 on a spare SKX jubilee basically since I’ve gotten it. I highly recommend that combo because it’s so comfortable.

Brent Goins opposite happened to me. Wanted the 033 but price jumped back up on amazon so got the 035 for $318!

The white dial is more appealing to me than the black dial. I have the Alpinist Sarb017 which is a nice watch for the money.

3:42 actually comparing the two, the black looks bigger and that is because the hands on the black one appear longer because of the white lume that matches the white lines going across each hand, whereas the hands on the cream dial have just the lume, and the rest is chrome/ black, making the hands appear smaller which in turn make the dial appear smaller. Maybe the cream has better wrist presence, but to me, after owning both, the black one appears larger and more masculine. Still, my favorite of the two is the cream dial, as it has much better legibility, and looks really elegant.

Are the hands exactly the same between these 2? I mean, is the lume the same color?

It has been good, running accurately, decent watch for the price. Also check out Glycine watches for about the same money, they have better movements than the Seiko, but are slightly bigger watches, though there are a few 38mm Glycine as well.

yankeexpress ah ok thank you very much for the reply. Also yeah I was thinking of buying the glycine combat 6 a few months ago but at 43mm, with almost no bezel, and a white dial, the watch was a little too big. I like how they use 4hz movements though and they’re swiss made.

Is sarb033 heavier than 035?

Can’t argue with you about your enthusiasm for these watches. But the 033 is still available NEW for about $450 if you search carefully on the web.

Picked up the 035 a couple days ago. Its a strap monster. Picked up a darkbrown alligator strap and a salmon/orange canvas Barton strap for it. Currently wearing it on the stock bracelet, which isn't too bad. Fortunately, my 6 3/4" wrist fits this bracelet perfectly with 2 links removed. I was surprised at how small this watch is. My other watch is a Samsung Galaxy Active 2, which is 44mm. So, coming from that to this 38mm watch is quite a stark difference. Thats okay though. Totally different wearing experience, totally different feel and completely different use between the automatic dress watch and the sporty smart watch. That gray strap actually looks pretty good on the 035. Maybe if I'm swapping straps on this one more often, I'll pick up a dark grey or maybe a dark burgundy. Something fun to help dress down the watch. I think it can play casual, sporty and dressy all depending on what strap you have on it.

@@FishingGreek I got it on Amazon. If it is a fake, it is the most elaborate fake job I have ever seen. The box looks 100% legit, the tags, legit, the manuals and warranty info, legit, the watch, legit. Everything is exactly as you see in all the videos on KZread.

I just got the BluShark Cordura Armadillo Grey strap for my sarb035 and I believe this must be the strap in the video. IMO the strap / sarb combo looks awesome in person. A few notes: that color is a light grey with a very slight bluish tint - the strap also has a slight sheen to it which I like - the combination of the color and the sheen match the polished surfaces and dial features really well. Quality of the strap seems good considering this is the first day - it is quite stiff right now but I presume it will soften up. The strap does seem a little shorter than typical - I have a 7" wrist and I am on the middle hole of 7 on the strap. Thanks to Rob for the great review. Enjoy!

Can I be honest. Ok . I love my Seiko sarbo35 . I paid $500 CA for it . I also have a Hamilton khaki field automatic . It was $595 CA but I got it for $500. Ok different watches . Different look . The swiss made Hamilton is a Lot better. The movement. The power reserve . You also can feel it in your hand . Have a look at Hamilton .

@Motor City Cobra I got a good deal on a Rolex 1601 and just needed an extra bit of cash to make the deal work. It's not the first 1601 I've owned but I have to say the SARB033 is pretty much better in every way. So the ridiculous thing is I'll probably end up buying another 33 and paying more than I sold mine for. Watch collecting is a learning curve my friend!

Imagine if Seiko released these two, but particularly the Alpinist, today. They’d be asking $700 a piece at least.

They don't - the sarx is an infinitely superior watch, the sarb is okay and represented great value at its old price point, as it is now though I would definitely opt for the sarx. The finishing, the beautiful dial , case and bracelet are in my opinion sub grand Seiko quality at a fraction of the price. I suggest you try both the watches before making the purchase. Once you put a sarx on your wrist you'll understand or also try the sdgm 003.

The bracelet on the SARX is much better. I almost got the SARX, but it’s 41mm which makes it a little less elegant/classical IMO.

It could have been a little thinner imo

My only watch at the momet is a 035.. Every time I look at getting another watch the 033 is up there.

Ahh they fall in value. To many are made for suggesting as investment. I got one for 40% of retail prise in great condish.
