    All my watches are 42mm or bigger so when I got my sarb035 I was a little shell shocked by the smaller 38mm case but after a few weeks I got use to it and now it’s one of my favorite watches.

    Wow very beautiful and elegant Seiko watch . Love the milled clasp and signed Seiko crown. The 6R15 movement is outstanding. This is an awesome execution of a fancy dressy watch from Seiko. It’s not exactly my type of watch but doesn’t mean it’s not outstanding and definitely can appreciate this amazing Seiko 😀👍🏻

    My Seiko PADI Divers gains about 1 - 2 secs a day if I place it with the screen face up over night, so after 4 or 5 days I will place it with the crown up at night, as in this video & yes, it loses about 3 secs. It's a great way to regulate the watch without having to pull the crown. This is a lovely watch but not to my particular taste. I do however love the Seiko brand. Great review & lovely watch. Bless

    I bought my SARB035 about two years ago, and I wear it every day. At first, it ran at about +4 seconds per day. Then it incrementally went to where it is today at about -1 to -2 seconds per hour - yes, per hour. I’m kind of an accuracy nut, so I set it once or twice a day. That’s fine with me. I just see having to set it that often as having bonding time with the watch. The bezel has lots of micro-scratches, but I don’t mind. You have to look kind of closely to see them. And, overall, the watch still looks almost new. It’s funny - a lot of guys think this watch is kind of small, but I think that it’s kind of large. 36mm is perfect, if you ask me. I may wind up with a Datejust 36 one of these days. But for now, I’m really, really satisfied. I’ve come to appreciate the virtues of my 035 more and more with the passage of time.

  • @Archer335

    @Archer335

    @@HauntingTheHoly, Yes, sir. I bought it in July of 2016. Then, after about 27 months of everyday wear, it was losing so much time that I decided to have it serviced; that was April of 2019, as there was a period where I was undecided about what to do with it. After servicing, it was still losing about 1 to 2 seconds per hour. It was fairly consistent that way until just lately; it improved to about -31 seconds/day, which I have absolutely no explanation for. So, I set it once a day, in the morning, nowadays. I’ve been wearing it every day since the summer of 2016, except for that time of uncertainty and the servicing period. I now have my mind on what I want to be my final watch purchase: a Tudor Prince Date+Day or a Tudor Prince Date. Once I Purchase my next watch, I will most likely wear it every day and keep the 035 as a bench warmer.

  • @HauntingTheHoly

    @@Archer335 It's alarming that servicing essentially didn't work. I would think they'd guarantee a tight range of off time, else why would anyone pay (whatever you paid) to service? That Tudor Prince looks great. Thanks for sharing!

    @@HauntingTheHoly, Agreed. The 6R15 is a notoriously problematic movement. Even Spencer Klein can’t properly figure them out. Had I known this beforehand, I would not have purchased the watch. And my advice to anyone considering purchasing any watch with a 6R15 movement would be to not do it. I wound up paying the watchmaker $150 to stabilize the timekeeping to the best of his ability. Yes, I wish that it would run more accurately, but at least it gets me through a twenty-four-hour period now, whereas it would not before. I’ll just deal with it until I get my Tudor, which I’m sure will be a world apart.

    Seiko seems to be giving up on it's value position. Compare a new 2020 Captain Willard SPB151 with a Tissot Seastar Powermatic 80 Silicium. The Tissot is a better watch all around as far as specifications, and yet costs $495.00 where the SPB151 2020 Captain Willard black dial with bracelet costs $1,300.00. - more than double the price for less. Seiko 2020 Captain Willard SPB151: 70-hour power reserve, 6R35 movement, 200 Meters water resistance, sapphire crystal $1,300.00 Tissot Seastar Powermatic 80 Silicium: 80-hour power reserve, silicon hairspring, 300 Meters water resistance, sapphire crystal: $495-$550.00 As can be seen, the Tissot is a much better value. This means that the Captain Willard is worth less than the Tissot and the rest is due to being a movie watch "Captain Willard." I own both so this is my opinion comparing the two. I like the Williard, but the Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80 Silicium is a better value.

    39mm or 39.5 would've been much better case size for this watch. A lot of owners state it it's a "bit" too small. I have orient star classic which is 38.5mm but it wears noticeably larger because its actual dial is larger with minimal bezel. The Rolex compared here is a much better size, although it's only 1mm difference, it is noticeable. The Seiko looks a little cramped.
