Have this watch in black and love it. The dial color looks much better in person.

I chose the SARB because I liked the smaller size which looked dressier and fit in nicely under the cuff. I love smaller dial watches now.

SARB035 is a sporty dress watch. SARY055 is a dressy sports watch.

I've got an 8" wrist and so was hesitant to pick up a sarb 033 'cause I felt that it was just too small for me. Got the black dial sary057 at long island watch and have been VERY pleased with it! Looks great on a nice leather strap too. Really underrated piece, in my opinion.

I think you made the right choice. My wrist is a bit under 7.5 and I have both watches. The sarb looks good but I think I am at the upper limit for wrist size. I get more compliments on the sary.

Adam at 17:10 "This and a Turtle.." yes exactly! I have this in black and white. Love it. Chose it for the kanji wheel, and because dress watches don't need lume on the hands. The cocktail is also a nice option, but I prefer the flat-sunburst white on this

Great case shape on that SARY. I have the white dial SARG001, looks SO good with a white dress shirt. Strictly speaking that Bulova 666 should be 'the Antichrist Diver' but I nitpick.

It's a nice watch for the price. The kanji date is pretty cool. Very versatile. It's clean and somewhat basic but has some nice details that don't make it too plain. It is a good alternative to a SARB035 which is right around the same price range. However, you will get some, if not more, lume in the SARB035 which is sort of nice.. though, for a dress watch, lume isn't usually necessary, but I usually like my watches to have lume than none. And the blued hands on the SARY055 is a nice touch against the rest of it. I can't say I've experienced the difference between the 4r and 6r movement, but I believe Adam is correct, the difference is negligible. both should be very accurate, robust, and have same features except for the power reserve and that's about it. and yes, why not put the magnifier on the inside? I've seen enough other watch companies do it with success. You get the magnified effect without the exterior bulk.. and dust and crap can get trapped in the recessed corners of the magnifier's edges. As with the comfort, I have to say I think just about all Seiko's wear comfortably no matter the size and shape. I haven't tried them all, but what I have so far has always been super comfy. And, I don't think I've ever heard or read anyone's experience with Seiko's and how they wear and feel as negative, more often positive. If it's not about the lugs and how the lugs may curve down or how short the lugs can be, then it's about the nice cases and how the case curves up on the edges to alleviate any corner rubbing or pushing against the wrist. BTW, what is that watch in the upper left corner on the leather roll-up watch holder? Looks like some sort of GMT with a navy and red GMT bezel?

That's an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT. I'm looking forward to the review as this is really the only higher-end piece that has tempted me over the years. Otherwise I'm very happy with watches priced under $1000. I also agree with Adam that the difference between the 4R35/36 and 6R15 movement in Seiko watches is negligible. They both have the same 21,600 BPH (3Hz) frequency, and other than the extra ten hours of power reserve on the 6R, they act the same, have the same okayish accuracy, and both have a smooth winding feel. Good enough at this price point, although I wish Seiko would do more with the 28,800 BPH 8L35 movement from the MM300 and bring it down to watches around $800-$1000 (Shogun, Transocean) to compete with Sellita SW-200, ETA 2824-2, and STP1-11 offerings in Swiss and micro-brand watches.

Would you skip this on your way to a SARX if you could afford either? The L2L of this is 49 vs the SARX has 46.5 so it should wear a little better, any comment?

Never understand why SEIKO makes the real cool stuff mainly for the local market and don't like to bring it to Europe. This watch really brings everything together, great size - don't think its too big, it is still a dress watch and recently sized for the average wrist - the blued hands are awesome and the Japanese day wheel is really good looking. The case with the downgraded lugs I do like it suits the watch well, as well the mix of brushed and polished surfaces is something I really do like. But, as usual, the bracelet with these annoying pins is the real pain, am really not a fan of that, lost my PADI once, luckily at home. So be careful with sizing of the bracelet or more specifically afterwards. Look of the bracelet over all is great though. The dial is beautiful too, the blued hands with the silver´ish look really is a great combination, the batons do fit nicely too. Really stunning would be if they make them blued, too. 4R36 movement is not great but does its job, 6R would be smoother in the action but hey, for this price point, what should you expect. Great video again guys, wish you a good weekend, greetings, Konstantin

Just as nice as a sarb. The sarb movement is slightly better but being a 41.9 mm and with a day date it’s a better fit for those of us who think the sarbs are a little small

I was deciding between this and the Sarb 035 and went with Sarb, and love it. I actually wish it was a 39-40 but it wears well. I thought the blue hands almost had me. I like the blue. Is it painted and if yes, how would that hold up? The white face is on the sarb is beautiful. The hands do have loom. Small amount but touched with class.

Got the sary057 instead of the sarb033. The sarb033 is simply more beautiful, and a nicer watch, but it's too dressy and small for my style. The black version of this is just the right blend of dressy, casual and sporty looks.

Thank you for all your advice! I saw the pre-own Frederique Constant "Healey" price tag is dramatically dropping. It is a cool watch but with this huge drop, it will rise some concern about there product. Seiko is dominating in Thailand market, so Frederique is quite a unique band not many collectors here this might make the price be like that. By the way slimline moonphase is to big for my test.
