Absolutely silly. Eyesight 20/15 and one time tested at 20/10, so I can see! If you actually use your watch in tough places as it is supposedly designed then this is a problem, a big problem too. You need to be able to glance and go. Diving, kite boarding, windsurfing, on my off road motorcycle, mountain bike, hiking etc... This sounds fine for metro-urban-explorers.

Wightt was my first choice when I was looking at the Hamilton khaki field automatic, but for that there is only black and a silver dial. The silver dial is gorgeous, but it just wasn’t my style. The black one is good. But now I really really need a white watch For my collection, so the khaki field mechanical white dial might be the perfect fit for me.

I used to have the black Khaki auto, but traded in towards this. It’s so nice, clean and simple. Only thing that irks me a bit, is the minute sometimes being a little behind or ahead when the seconds passes twelve, but it’s not something that I’ll notice often.

I picked up the bare SS Full Metal. I knew the black and gold tone would both be problematic. Mine is only a couple of months old, so it is still looking decent. Like you, mine is not worn all the time. The module is amazing. I also have the positive display. My experience with negative displays has not been amazing. I want a G-Shock to be legible in any or no light.

I agree with you about the GS and another one I have is a quartz Aqua Terra. The last one is a great pick up and go watch, especially if you get an older one. No need to explain to people! If they don't get it then it's their problem. I love the GS movement so much I put an exhibition back on it. People are blown away from seeing it.

Interesting note is that the 1521 actually had the crown at 3:00 originally. The squared off area is what would protect the crown theoretically. When they moved the crown they just left that shape for whatever reason.

Does the uncle seiko strap have fat spring bar tips like the original band? I know Hirsch are expensive but you should try one of their Pure rubber caoutchouc straps on the turtle watch. The black strap will match your dial nicely. Good review!

I have it, bought it in Poland on discount in some e-store for, wait for it, 3500 PLN which corresponds to roughly 875 USD. Fortunately for me, since it was the last in stock in this shop so it get discounted. It's even better than on video, the quality is really high, setting the watch when the hands are moving like in fast-forward is mesmerizing. I have Bulova Precisionist as well and this Longines is much better overall (of course the price is 3x higher, but still). I think it's one of the best value for money on the market right now.

This watch has been discontinued. To enjoy it, you should not baby your watch and not be paranoid about it. I bought mine used and had it serviced and took more than six months coz they have to send it to Tokyo.

Funny you mention it. Mine is pretty beat up. I swapped the battery myself a few weeks ago after it died. Took me 5 minutes with less than $20 worth of supplies.

I also think it will eventually become a more sought-after classic. Squares have become so common that it is an acquired taste, but the round square is more unique. It is almost identical to the first DW5400/DW5700 as well. Can someone answer if the DW57xx series has lasted all the way, or did it disappear around 1997 and come back in 2018?

I was wondering if you might know if the dial is Opaline silver or just silvered? Like the the Santos opaline dial vs the tank silvered dial. You read my mind MinuteMon 😂 I was just looking at the Mark 18 of this dial color. It is an excellent watch ✈️ and actually a pretty good price comparatively. It is a plain pilot but a top notch quality plain pilot like Rolex’s plain Explorer 1 field watch.
