Seecamp LWS-32 - .32 ACP Bench top review

Спорт

Just a look at the Seecamp LWS-32 in .32 ACP. One of the smallest semi-autos made, definitely very high quality.

Larry was Ludwigs son, I believe Larrys actual name was Lueder? Larry co founded Seecamp with his dad and Larry used to post on the Seecamp forums a lot back in the day, was a plethora of information for the Seecamps. He is missed dearly on the forums! Thanks for watching Glen and thanks for the comment!!

The Seecamp is an excellent pistol, it was designed to shoot point blank, in those terrible moments of life and death situations. It does not need sights it is not an Olympic competition pistol and the 32 acp caliber was very popular in Europe at that time. I liked your video, excellent information and presentation, greetings from the deep south of the Americas.

I bought my .32 in 2017 and love it. Yeah, you have to search high and low for the recommended ammo, but other than that it is a beautiful piece of workmanship. I can close my hand around it and you'll never see it (I have big hands). It also sits nicely in a number of pocket/wallet holsters that make it great in the back pocket. "What? You say you want my wallet"?

I have 2 Seecamp 32's. I also have 2 Keltec 32's. Love them both. The Keltec holds 7+1 over the Seecamp 6+1 but I love to be loving the Seecamp the most. The Seecamp has been flawless with Speer Gold Dots and PMC JHP's. The Keltec shoots them as well as FMJ like S&B and Fiocchi. I rotate pocket carry daily for work with both guns. Monday might be the Seecamp. Tuesday the Keltec. On another note I also have a NAA .22LR mini revolver I sometimes carry just going to the mailbox. It too is built like a surgical instrument like the Seecamp. It is quite the little beast to shoot with only a thumb and a finger but will teach the dumbest bad dog or in your face bad guy to play dead. In summation...arm yourself because no one else will save you!

I have one of each between the Seecamp and the Kel-Tec. I have three of the NAA revolvers, one in each cartridge (LR, WMR, and Short.) I do like me some pocket guns, and I own several others, though only the KT, the Ruger LCP-MAX, and one of the NAA jewels get carried regularly, and usually is backing up something bigger on the belt.

Your Seecamp has the latest, fully textured, grip. Previously, the Seecamp grip had a half-textured/half-smooth design running somewhat diagonally across its length. Based purely on aesthetics, I actually prefer the older grip design. I was slightly disappointed to see this design change in the grip texturing. Your thoughts? Also, I was glad to learn recently that the Seecamp. 25 ACP is still in the works. According to a reliable source, Seecamp has merely suspended its manufacturing of the .25 ACP temporarily, until it can acquire magazines that meet its specifications & tolerances from an third-party fabricator. Hope that happens sooner, rather than later!

That is awesome news if the .25 ACP is coming back! I've never owned one, but I heard that the .25 ACP version will eat any .25 ACP ammo. I've had both grip styles and to be honest, I actually kind of prefer the new grips. But it's aesthetics only, I never liked the curve or lines on the older grips. So with you liking the old grips, this is proof that tastes differ! :) Thanks for the comment and I'll be watching for the .25 version!!

The reason for the renewed interest in pocket semiauto pistols, aka, derisively mouse guns is, two-fold. Collectors want to collect these. Same collectors state that pocket pistols are still useful as last-ditch, emergency personal protection. The old adage holds. The best handgun in the world is the one you have with you when you most urgently need it. Another old-timer added, I'd rather rely on my .25acp than harsh language.

Hello and thank you for the video. What do you think why Seecamp Co. don't recommend Full Metal Jacket ? Considering vital practicing, to get familiarize to the monster recoil the 380 version does. To practice with hollows point in November of 2022 is extreme expensive.

Mr. Seecamp originally designed the gun around Winchester Silvertips. The hollowpoint ammo is usually slightly shorter than FMJ ammo, making it slightly smaller in size and easier to feed in the Seecamp. Well agreed though that hollow point ammo is very pricey. I've heard, but haven't tested myself, that the Winchester flat tip FMJ .32 ammo can be used in Seecamps. Thanks for watching!!

I own an NAA Guardian in .32 ACP, which is basically a rip-off of the Seecamp but with all of the Seecamp weirdness fixed: actual sights, button mag release, can eat FMJ's, takedown button, etc. I also appreciate that the Guardian is somewhat bigger than the Seecamp... it's already a very small gun, so the additional size/weight is helpful. The Seecamp is a good gun for what it is, but I question the usefulness of hollow points in .32 ACP. I used to carry Hydra-Shoks in my Guardian, until I saw some ballistic videos on the .32 and it basically cannot meet the 12-18 inch standard with expanding ammo while there is little concern about over penetration with FMJ's, so FMJs (or the Extreme Cavitator, if you can find it) is the proper carry ammo. Given that the Seecamp is hollow point only, this to me limits its usefulness, all else being equal

who cares about hollowpoints especially in a mouse gun. never understood the online obsession with punching a very slightly bigger hole in the bad guy (that is probably more than made up for by the better penetration if it doesnt expand). i'd run hollowpoints in the seecamp only because thats what it feeds due to length, not because i care that they are hollowpoints. i'd rather have ball probably. also the guardian being bigger and heavier is exactly why i like it less. follow that logic and you end up carrying a glock 19, then a desert eagle. most people and especially youtube gun reviewers only rate mouse guns by how good they are at the range, which is opposite. they are not range guns. more important is how easy they are to carry and conceal. i wouldn't even shoot one more than a few dozen or at most couple hundred rounds to make sure it runs, they arent made for that beating. this is why every reviewer will tell you the lcp max is better than the original lcp. sure, at the range or if carrying constraints arent considered it's definitely a better gun in every way, but my original lcp is much smaller and lighter and conceals much better. so i sold my max and bought a original lcp back! similarly why i'm interested in these seecamps (though i've not yet and may never purchase one). because they are the smallest size of this archetype available. not because theyre nice to shoot at the range.

You said “pea shooter” I disagree. The .32ACP is not a pea shooter, its a viable self defense caliber if used properly. Most all handgun rounds are underpowered if not placed where they can do the necessary damage to stop a attacker; training is key to surviving any attack. Having any firearm greatly enhances your chances and abilities at winning or avoiding the altercation entirely. I have the NAA copy of your Seecamp and I absolutely love it for what it is; it rides with me everywhere. I have it loaded with the Underwood Extreme Penetrator .32ACP round and have no doubt it will do exactly what it’s supposed to do should I need it. IMO, if you are gonna carry a tiny pistol load it with the very best round offered in its caliber. The Extreme Penetrator turns this little round into something much more devastating than just a FMJ round and with plenty of penetration depth to get to the vitals. Not to mention the mentality behind carrying this type of pistol. My philosophy is simple, you cause me to pull this thing out and shoot it; it’s probably gonna result in a mag dump. I carry two additional mags when I carry my NAA .32ACP to back up that mantra.

It also occasionally locked back with rounds left in the mag. It was okay for the pocket, but a little thick. I’m also not a big fan of single-action guns with no safety or firing pin block.

The 1968 Gun Control Act was a knee-jerk reaction from Congress over the assassination of presidential candidate, Robert Kennedy, younger brother of the late, John F. Kennedy. Only old people remember this but back then Robert Kennedy was highly popular and even loved by large swathes of the American People. It looked like Robert Kennedy was going to even sway large numbers of Republican voters over to his side in the 1968 presidential election. Had he lived, Robert Kennedy was set to establish the record of the biggest election landslide in November 1968. His Republican opponent, Richard Nixon, was about to be consigned to the dustbin of political history in a crushing defeat that even could have negatively affected the destiny of the Republican Party. There would probably be no Ronald Reagan in 1980. Sirhan Sirhan, for reasons still not known nor understood today, decided to assassinate Kennedy with several shots to his head from a cheap, 22LR revolver of foreign manufacture. In its grief and rage, Congress struck out, I would say, blindly, blaming the firearm more than the shooter. It was still remembered that beloved John F. Kennedy had been assassinated by a $106 imported surplus military Italian WW2 Carcano carbine. As means of expiating its collective grief, outrage, and anger, Congress knee-jerked the Gun Control Act prohibiting the importation of foreign firearms into the United States. Is emotion ever a good basis for legislating new laws? Emotion was behind the ill-advised and ill-fated Prohibition Act which prohibited sales of alcohol throughout the entire nation. Not only did the population flaunt the law, vast numbers of mobsters and gangsters sprung up and flourished throughout the nation's major cities. The crime mobs and syndicates grew hugely powerful and wealthy, able to corrupt or circumvent even the state governments and governors. The United States was on the verge of becoming a liquor narco state like you see in the narco states today of Mexico and Central America. Individual American state governments and governors were helpless, either suborned and corrupted or else intimidated by these powerful crime organizations. It took the creation of the FBI to bring them down. It was the Golden Age of the heroic FBI, not the Praetorian Guard that the FBI turned into in 2020. Do we really want to go through all that again?

I know that i've seen i recently, but lacked the interest to have observed it much in the prior 30 years.

That's not the original.. that's after he sold the company. I have not checked. out the reissues but I have an original. Pretty great little pistol. Built like a brick.

Thanks for the information and thanks for watching!! I've since picked up an earlier Milford era .32 Seecamp, runs like a top with the right ammo.
