Self Defense Story Every Gun Owner Needs to Watch

[Gun Giveaway] Enter To Win Here: bit.ly/3DuHzeM
This is a self defense story every gun owner needs to watch! The U.S. Concealed Carry Association is dedicated to educating Americans about safe, responsible gun ownership. With more than 5 million Americans having purchased their first gun during the turmoil of 2020, this mission has never been more important.
Reality Check Milwaukee
The USCCA held a conference of self-defense and civil rights advocates at the first pop-up Reality Check event on August 6, 2021. Host Katrina Cravy introduced five speakers who shared the touching - and sometimes horrifying - real-life experiences that led them on their journey to responsible gun ownership. This is a must watch video for gun owners and aspiring gun owners!
00:00 Introduction by host Katrina Cravy.
00:30 Introduction of “Top Shot” champion Chris Cheng.
01:13 Introduction of self-defense instructor and sex trafficking surviror, Kendra Geronimo.
01:37 Introduction of USCCA author and Concealed Carry Magazine Associate Editor, Beth Alcazar.
02:08 Introduction of women’s advocate and domestic abuse survivor Jennifer Moston.
02:41 Introduction of self-defense and civil rights advocate Aaargo Jay.
03:06 Jay tells the story of a late-night confrontation with an armed group.
07:49 Chris Cheng discusses his childhood and his decision to try out for “Top Shot.”
13:59 Cheng on how the Second Amendment affects Asian Americans in today’s society.
16:09 Chris Cheng urges gun owners to “come out of the gun closet” and serve as positive examples to offset negative stereotypes.
17:43 USCCA’s Beth Alcazar relives a terrifying situation with an armed gunman at her daughter’s middle school in Alabama.
21:45 Beth Alcazar on diversity: “In 2021, there is no ‘typical’ gun owner!”
22:36 When Kendra Geronimo saw her sex traficker on a TV special, it opened old wounds that led her to be proactive about personal defense.
25:50 Kendra’s advice: Train how you carry every day and make sure your children know the real facts about personal safety.
27:10 Kendra’s closing thoughts: Arm yourself with knowledge and real-world training.
29:06 Jennifer Moston shares her story of surviving domestic abuse and what it’s like counting down the days until her abuser is released from prison.
31:52 Jennifer reminds us all that most gun owners are good people.

That's sort of the opposite message conveyed by this video. They're saying you need to train and prepare for a time when you might need to use your weapon. In a life-threatening situation, you don't want to be in a "Where did I put my keys?" state of mind. The gun is sitting there as inert as the keys, but you have to be prepared if it's going to be of any use to you.

No I disagree. Civil Rights are subpar to Rights, the former are actually privileges while the latter are natural and inherent. To be a Civilian is to play or act a role which under the US Govt a US Civilian is the lowest member... so all these Civil Rights is really a diminishing of your natural and inherent Rights.

I learned to shoot with my dad and Older brother when I was maybe 10 or 11. My dad started me off with a Remington 410. Two years later he let me shoot his pistol, taught me all about recoil, backstop assessment, and just about all you can involving firearm safety. When I was 15 he bought an AR15 chambered in 5.56. Me him and my brother went up to a private outside range and spent about 3 hours there that day. My friend bought a m&p gen 1 when he was 21 along with his CCW, never fired a gun prior to that. He never went to the range, he never dry fired around the house when his wife and child weren't home to simulate break in situations. My friend lost his life at 24 years old, two years ago, his wife was beaten and their 3 year old son was luckily left unharmed. The burglar was carrying his own pistol, a hi-point 9mm. My friend woke to noise downstairs, and fired shots into darkness, missing every shot and giving away his location. The 36 year old man killed my friend with 6 bullets, tied up and beat his wife, stole his gun, and a bunch of important family items and valuables. Moral of the story. It's better to have a gun than not to. But its the best when you know when to use it, and how to properly utilize it as a tool of self defense. May peace and prosperity be with all of you, and rest in piece Alexzander.

To which I replied that "I'll bet you would pray for one if you had a person trying to break into your house in the middle of the night". She went on to tell me that she would "absolutely not" and that the badguy could take anything they wanted, as all of it was replaceable. I then asked her "What if it's not your possessions they want, what if they want you or your child? Are you willing to give that up as well? Her mouth dropped open and she turned a lighter shade of pale. I think she got at least some if not all of the point I was trying to make.

The last lady makes a very common sense point that I have tried to make for so many years. A gun doesnt kill people, the user of the gun does. If you outlaw guns and somehow disarm all the criminals as well, they will just choose another tool be it a baseball bat, a knife, a car, a hammer.. etc. Look at England for the past couple of years. Citizens there, for the most part, do not own firearms BUT they are having a massive knife crime problem to where they have national campaigns now against "knife violence" You cannot stop crime or violence by taking away the tools people use, you have change the people. Until someone comes up with a miracle way to do that, honest people need a way to be able to protect themselves when the criminally minded decide to become violent. And be not fooled, a stick, a bat, a knife, a bare fist CAN be a deadly weapon and people can kill you with them so it is NOT just others with guns you need to be able to defend yourself against but EVERY potentially dangerous or deadly threat. This ability, this RIGHT is well worth fighting for.

As a former NRA pistol, defensive shooting instructor, I always stressed the greatest weapon you have for your personal defense is the educated, trained, and prepared gray matter between your ears. Prepared to handle a violent situation mentally, understanding this is your life, your families lives, what are you willing to do to protect them. Until you can answer that without equivocation, no second guesses, no maybe I could, but YES I CAN, with confidence. This only comes with training, and competence with your chosen weapon. that means practice, practice, practice. Safety is number one, practice is next, and both MUST be used in conjunction, consistently. I'm large, combat trained, but I'm also trained in psychological warfare I've talked my way out of more violent situations then most, and drawing a weapon has never been necessary,. Two police officers I trained took my words, and training to heart, they squared off with 6 gang members, over 40 shots fired, they were the only ones to go home. They were prepared mentally, and physically to survive, and go home to their families.

For clarity, an actual assault weapon is fully automatic. (Also known as a machine gun.”) The rifles all the politicians and media vilify are not assault weapons. They are semi-automatic. The AR does NOT mean assault rifle. It’s the abbreviation for ArmaLite Rifle the inventor of that platform to my understanding. Although I and my family members are gun owners, the real solution isn't giving everybody a gun... it's daily practice of moral reasoning and acts, improving education in ethics, and enforcing Laws against verified or guilty criminals will make the world better. For example, if tomorrow everybody was given a gun would that end crimes... no. Protecting people's right to own and use a tool called a gun is fine for short-term fix but a long-term change is practicing and teaching better morals and ethics.

Back when I was Younger we didn’t have many shootings in and around Detroit, until Gangs started to get more attention. It use to be a fist fight and then you walk away. But gangs and criminals got worse towards the early 90s.

Every country has unique circumstances surrounding the specific extras they need to teach their children about. in America, by necessity, its violence, self defence and guns. I feel so incredibly fortunate that Im not American and didnt need to train my child in that culture. The big ones where I live are, if your going off road, take plenty of water and at least one good spare tyre, learn how to drive off road and be prepared to survive in situations of extreme weather events.

American parents don't teach their kids much. This is why they worship athletes and elect the corrupt politicians then fight with each other over who elected the most corrupt 😂

Gunman at your kid's school 6 miles away. Even armed and well trained in this situation as a civilian, the only real action can take is staying out of the way of law enforcement. It might be different if you were already there when it started. I do understand that this was a catalyst into considering there might be situations where you might need a to defend yourself or loved ones with your firearm.

Sheltering kids from guns is like sheltering them from the dangers of life. If you don't teach them gun safety and self defense, make them aware of the dangers, they will be victims of evil and their chances of survival will be minimal at best. Real parenting involves proper training and education. When you withhold information, you are making them weaker and dumber, not stronger and smarter.
