We just had a pretty bad storm in Germany.. After making sure the animals are okay (and putting the horses in a different pasture because the fence is not okay) I just need to watch this now. Your videos always help me calm down/ relax and just in general help me forgetting what's going on in my life :)

I hope that girl who took the cat to control her mouse problem intends to provide food and shelter for her.

Puerto Rico often needs help during hurricanes. Hundreds of Thoroughbreds were trapped for days during Hurricane Maria. Private citizens rented a freight airplane and a ship to transfer hay etc

@@joletterosascuevas5866 the vast majority of horses they receive are decrepit, diseased, crippled, starved until their systems fail and much more. The point is to save what they can and give s peaceful, kind end to those they can't.

Emotional episode. I cannot imagine the difficulties in Brazil and countries like it, where people can barely feed their own families and live in homes that, in some cases, are not even as warm, safe & clean as the stalls we keep our horses in. Raising money would be very challenging. (this is not to say that all people in Brazil, etc. live poorly, just in some areas and instances). God bless this organization that reached out to you all and all the organizations struggling to save these beautiful creatures that we love so much.

The vets here tattoo in the dogs left ear to show that the dog has been fixed. Thank you for the work that you do. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to one and all from me and my five furbabies.

Yeah, some tattoo ears, some tattoo the belly, some crop the corner of an ear. It all helps to prevent stress on the animals. A cropped eared or tattoed stray cat will not get trapped and put through anesthesia bc it's a sign of having been fixed.

Brazil speaks Portuguese. My brothers wife is from Brazil and he spends 4 to 6 months a year there. He is there right now till April.

How come KZread only recommended this to me today? I'm happy to know that you're helping here too. Unfortunately, in Brazil there are slaughterhouses for horses. Poverty is a big thing, but not the only thing, generally poorer people sell mares for surrogacy, or for children, or out of necessity. Unfortunately, I recently visited a cousin because I was considering going to veterinary school, but during my visit I helped my cousin evaluate some mares, and during the process I asked the seller where the mares that were not sold or were pregnant would go. and he replied that it would be for the slaughterhouse, he and my cousin were talking with an indifferent naturalness that left me disgusted.

Always glad to see new faces, but did we lose Garrett and the other young farriers? Sure miss those guys

Dr. L is so fun to watch and listen to. The donkey(s) were so cute, especially the one fixated on cookies. Nice to see how broad you are able to reach in order to assist rescuers outside of our country. Great video with all kinds of info, thanks.

Other countries have completely different issues then here in the states. It looks like a big part of the issue in Brazil is cart horses being neglected and abused before collapsing or being sold for slaughter. Perhaps consider offering an economical trade for a simple bike/motorized cart of some kind. Such options could also benefit the community thru small business creation for cart manufacturing and sales. I hope more programs are developed internationally. We can all learn so much from others.

Here in Australia the spay/neuter tattoo is put on the inner side of the ear. So all a vet has to dog is take a quick look at the dog or cat's ear and they'll know straight away if the animal is intact or not.

And I dread farrier days when all 7 of my horses are trimmed on the same day. Thankfully, that doesn't happen too often. The Shetland and donkey are every 6 weeks, and the mini and 4 big horses are 8 weeks. Thank you guys for all you do. ❤️

I love love love all of you for your hard work. Wish I was closer to help. I helped here in maine volunteering with my 7yr old daughter. We ended up renting a rescued horse that was starved to near death. His name was a chance for taffy. He is online for a rescue. He was the best horse ever. He taught me and my daughter love and how to ride with the help of new friends and family that were there to help us learn to ride while we helped to clean and feed the horses she boarded. I met lots of people that were there to help my daughter and I learn about abused horses and the slaughter that happens to these innocent horses. There were horses bought from auctions that I helped. They were fearfull but learned after a while we wouldn't hurt them. A friend from the barn bought a registered race horse from an auction. Anyone who says they don't end up in auctions are lying! His name was bogy and was beautiful. He was only ridden in the ring with his elderly owner. She loved him like her son. Was so beautiful. He was saved . Love your work

Hi, I am Brazilian and I don't know much about rescuing horses, but what I can say is that animal rescue NGOs (most of the ones I know rescue dogs and cats) are going through a tough time in 2022. That is due to the Covid related economic crisis and unemployment. Fewer people are able to donate and the NGOs are struggling. I am glad you are making an effort to help this organization - I believe I didn't get their name. It also seems that they could use your expertise on financial organization and general planning. Should you go ahead and help them, please let us know who they are. Brazilians have one of the largest social media presence in the Internet, and I believe that this organization could use a shout out from you guys to have more donnors in the future. Horse Plus would also get many more fans. I have been following you for a couple of years and have great admiration for you work ❤️.

The numbers here are so big on the slaughter line that adoptions during holidays might be the horses only chance. Work is being done to make horse auctions illegal here.

June was doing wonderful and we even got her back to the point of running! After 6 months of pure happiness unfortunately her joint and arthritis could no longer be managed for her to be pain free and we could not let her suffer so we had to say good bye💔
