Hi Ped Sat Nav use the car system in the SQ5, fine by me, guess each to his own. Back down in your home territory, Arundel tomorrow, then Members Meeting over weekend. Hope you can make a quick recovery, you have been pushing it (maybe a little too much) recently. Health must come first.😉

Having tried a couple of Sat Navs through the phone, I now use the onboard system in my LEAF. Its normally much more accurate and up to date esp with current traffic conditions and diversions. One of the first things I did , some 47 years ago, was to instuct /supervise my wife in how to change a tyre on our car. My workmates came buy and of course took the *iss. There was I with a small baby in my arms a my wife was jacking the car up as I enjoyed the sunshine. Glad to say she has never needed to test her skill.

Lots of wheel changes and oil changes over the years. Always switching to snow tires so at least a couple a year minimum. I use Waze all the time it’s my go to 👍🏻🇨🇦

I used to race radio control cars 1/10 th scale off road both 4wd and 2wd. I was away most weekends having a great time and made lots of new friends but in the end it became too expensive! Great video.

My wife has suffered a host of problems since she caught COVID on March 1st 2021…..and the reason I post is to say that you should try a C19 test….the symptoms are so varied that you cannot be sure.Long COVID is dreadful and unrelenting.😢😢😢

Hi Peter With sat-nav I generally use the in built in car (Niro EV) as it's there in the head up, occasionally use google if I think diversions may come into play. As for your head cold have you tried the old menthol crystals in hot water with towel over your head, worked well with my sinuses before scuba diving back in the daly .Regards JB

Wellington NZ so a bit further than Auckland. Loved the Japan visit stuff. Lived there for a few years. Did yuo know they had to stop selling the Porsche 2 lt in the early 80s there as the Honda City Turbo was far quicker. Cheers Ross

🤣🤣 As an over enthusiastic 17yr old, I stripped and rebuilt the engine and gearbox on my Ducati 250. At the end, I had one single washer left-over. I optimistically thought it might not matter. Anway, all was good. Except - no 3rd gear...!

Good evening everyone! Last time I changed a wheel by myself was nearly 30 years ago! Regarding satnav, I’m currently using the onboard system although now that I my subscription to live traffic, updates etc has expired I really ought to move over to CarPlay. Hope you feel better soon!

I cover over 20,000 business miles a year and go to some random places. I use WAZE all the time and it always gets me there as well as noting the odd pothole along the way 😄

Hpe your feeling better Pete, had that just after Christmas its a real drain. Is new long termer a Range Rover. Thats more expensive than a Defender makes a good sound and is special unless you have to insurer it of course. I dont have a remote control car but have just started collecting Scalextric cars and thinking of getting a small track set up. Pulled a car out of a ditch that some yongsters had miss parked while driving too fast. I got the car back on the road then the driver asked if i could fix his rear tyre that had been damaged and gone flat. I said didnt any of the four youngsters in the car know how to change a tyre they all looked blank. Of course I changed it so they could get home but said to each of them practice at home before next outing.

I changed a wheel after just a few weeks of owning my first car. Couldn’t go wrong with a mk2 Honda CRV of the jacking points, the plastic trim has large arrows pointing to the correct location. Child’s play 😂

I either use Wayz or the sat nav that is embedded. I hope you feel better soon mate.

Loving the Bianchi themed sofa. I sympathise with your cold, i have the same..im convinced since covid, colds and flues are a lot worse!

Sat nav. I use the cars system as it links into headsup display. Android won't view on HU.

We're back. Evening everybody on this beautiful evening. I upgrade my OEM Mini system with android Auto. Works great. I still have mine tamiya subaru impreza wrx car. Almost 15 years old😅😅

Interesting question re the sat nav. My mum does in her countryman - she can’t be bothered to faff with the car play and use her phones apps. My dad does use CarPlay in the countryman and uses either google maps or Waze, depending on how fussy he is with traffic. In his my 7 golf, he uses his phone as no car play?

I thought I had a grasshopper too but no it was a hornet then a boomerang then finally an RC10 :)

I bought a jack and tools to take a wheel off, so I can get stones out of the bloody brakes! I only use Waze / Carplay these days, due to hazard warnings for potholes, plod etc. Get well soon fella 👍🏻

Sat-Nav - use Waze through wired Apple Car Play on my Seat. Can't recall last car I had to change a flat tyre on - but then again it's been about 12 years I think since I last had one with a spare wheel!!

In the same boat as you Pete, i have now had my cold for almost 3 weeks, Just when you think it is going you wake up the next day and it is back also now have a cough to go with it. As for sat nav we have a 3 year TOM TOM with live travel subscription that came with the car (peugeot) but i always have Waze running in the background as if we come across anything i will update it. Hope you feel better soon

What memories...Back in the 80's I remember racing my Grass Hopper, Hornet and Hot Shot 2, at a local club that had a track set up in a school gym, still got an original Big Wig and loads of spares for the original Hot Shot. 😄

Depends on the car and what the native sat nav is like, in my cupra it was wireless so would automatically connect to android auto, but now I have a megane rs it now needs a cable, so the native satnav is a Google live nav anyway, I just Bluetooth my music and use the sat navigation that is in the car.

I use my phone for navigation as it is easier to use, more up to date, and usually provides traffic updates. Unfortunately, it won't display on the instrument cluster.

Use both sat nav’s but not at the same time!

Hello Peter! I’m sorry you are far from well….look after yourself which I know is difficult but best to recover gently and when well, then start work again. I use the built in JLR navigation and it works perfectly….or rather DID….i now do not own a car as I have sold both to buy one “special” car for Hilary as her health struggles recently. It feels REALLY weird not owning any car after 57 years….i found a perfect Range Rover Sport P400e Autobiography and have a deposit on it…but now nobody will offer me cover except for Hastings at £3760pa!! However a 2023 Discovery via LV is £900 pa! Totally confused if either car is the right thing to get so we shall see. I use the JLR inbuilt Navigation and it works well….even in tiny roads and villages in Germany etc. The best film you did in Japan was that short one “ I’m big in Japan” as that looked really magical…whoever held the camera did a fine job…you looked so happy and amazed to be there. Next time you must take Tracey and explore for 2 weeks. I have never been but have friends who lived there for years in the 1990’s and it changed their lives forever. New car?….Porsche Taycan to try to explain the terrible depreciation and are they a used disaster or a smart purchase? Enough…get FULLY better soon and don’t burn yourself out….you have decades of travel and life to do so always drive yourself at 6/10ths…keep a reserve to use for later years.🙂🙂🙂 Richard😃😃😃

The only car I own with satnav is a 14 year old e-class & it's a) out of date and b) rubbish anyway, so I use waze on Android Auto in all my cars. I got hold of a 500 spare wheel kit for my Abarth as that only came with a can of glue.

I use the Satnav fitted to my Mazda2, it is a very good system. I would love to use Michlen tyres but none available for my size (185/60 R16) except winter ones, not much use here on the Dorset coast, we never get snow 😂

I have one of the last ever built MINI Countryman R60 Cooper S with all the bells and whistles. Was actually put on a plate for the first time in 2017! Has built in navigation but I find myself using Google maps on my phone because I like its UI better. Less likely to steer me in the wrong direction too :-) Unfortunately there is no way to stream the output to my centre console so I have to wedge my phone protective cover in between the front window and the dash. I have one of those leather folding cases so it can stand upright nearly in view without having to take my eyes off the road. Not the best of solutions though. Also don’t want to replace my original nav system with one of those aftermarket Chinese built Apple CarPlay systems since those delete my CD player. Maybe one of those boxes that go behind the stock console but half your interior needs to be dismantled to have it placed and I don’t like that one bit ^^

I recommend you take a multivitamin, but make sure it has vitamin D3 and k2. Good luck. I use Google maps on my phone, my yeti does not have a built in sat nag! And if i ever buy a car that does not have a spare wheel or space for one, I will buy a tubeless tyre repair kit, my last two punctures were caused by nails 😢.

Had to buy two new front tyres for my Cupra Formentor recently. Went to local Quickfit depot to get a quote. Then logged on to Quickfit website and the same tyres were £40.00 cheaper. That was because the local depot only have two suppliers whereas the website have a dozen suppliers. Bought them from the website and had them fitted at the local depot. What’s that all about!!!!!

Half of my driving is on dirt roads, so, yes, a jack is critical. Never use the built-in sat nav, Google Maps, or OnX Offroad on my phone. Downloaded maps are a must, usually out of cellular range.
