SailGP - Cadiz - Crash & Burn

Спорт

With a coastline that's open to the Atlantic, the chances that Cadiz' would see punchy conditions were always there. And when the Spanish venue delivered, the action was explosive. From light and tricky to full-on, the sixth event of SailGP Season 2 saw teams having to deal with both extremes of the scale. The result made for some tense and spectacular racing.
Here's the 26min review show.

Having been over the falls on an eighteen foot catamaran (too often with drama), I can only imagine what a dip on one of these boats might be like. Crash and burn is a weird description. There are no fires.

It would help if u would put the apparent wind direction on all legs so we could see how much they are making their own wind . Because down wind most boats use spinnakers but they can't because they r going faster than the the wind and explain that to people that can't understand how u can sail faster than the wind .I was a sailmaker I understand but the average person doesn't know this and this has made sailing much more spectator friendly 12 meters was like watching grass grow unless u understand tactics .

I raced Tornadoes. The first time I tacked down wind I was in for a big surprise.

Yeah heaps of Australian's also some of our cousins from over the ditch. Pretty impressive when you consider Australia has a bit over 25 million people and the Kiwi's have only 4 million and i wouldn't say that the majority of the populations are into sailing, we're not rabid here like say the French

Why are the bows of these F50's seemingly designed to dive under the water rather than ski or skim over the surface when they dip the bow?

NZ Government completely stupid to exclude SailGP people from NZ, and a genuine tragedy there's no racing in Lyttleton. It was the only sporting event I planned on attending this year.

New Zealand Govt (aka 5 million Kiwis) spent enough on Americas Cup only to have it spirited away from an expected venue in NZ when we fair and square won it. Sorry but sailing has soured in a lot of our minds after that con job.

12 minutes of totally unnecessary “prestart” commentary. We know all that! Please just show the ACTUAL RACING! There is not enough footage of the actual racing….. I gave up and didn’t finish the video! Rethink needed!

Pityfull presentation of this event guys! We sailors want to see the races! In detail! Like Formula 1 on RACE DAY. Instead we get 12 minutes of blargh blargh before we even see a start. Then edits of the races ,but more time in the boat park. And PLEASE get a sailor to do the commentary. That guy is a clueless loudmouth! A salesman, but did he ever win a race in any class? I doubt it. So 5% for presentation chaps. You can do a LOT BETTER !

And when it comes to commentators one has been to the Olympics the other has done several America’s Cups and the third is the anchor.
