Dear Director - this isn't motor racing. We don't want lingering close up shots of boats after they cross the finish line - while you are missing all the action that is still happening on the course. Please pull back and let us see the racing.

In US Baseball US Basketball, and US Football, they have figured out that it's great in a sporting event to have some scoring information that stays on the screen and then morphs into other things sometimes or has added details sometimes. Can you do that? Sometimes you nothing. Sometimes you have one thing. Sometimes you have another. Sometimes you have yet another. Perhaps position and speed always, then add other things and/or temporarily replace it with other things sometimes?

@AndyUK-Corrival I don't recall any instance of Burling attacking anyone when it was a blatantly negative-sum outcome. I suppose Sir B is sufficiently machiavellian to calculate that it's better to have USA climbing the points table at the expense of Burling's lot (which implies he sees the former as "easy-beats"). Down here on planet Earth, if any boat looked to be angling for that label in this regatta, it was GBR...

It's kind of ironic that a couple of contests ago, Canada got penalised for hunting a boat on another leg in spite of holding their course (contrary to what the commentators said at the time), whereas GBR absolutely sailed a course designed solely to force NZL to put about and got off scott free. Luckily NZL was vigilant, where Spain had been derelict in not keeping a lookout, but it looked like a remarkably skillful avoidance manoeuvre from the kiwis.

Yes lve made comments about his aggressive commentary stile before he makes it sound like you are watching a WWF fight. He continually talks about the US boat no mater were they are positioned during a race, as if he is only commenting for an American audience. The sound of the UK commentators voice also gives me the Irits.

@jamesaron1967 It's not a sure thing that they lower the bottom end of the wind speed range viable for foiling, because the extra weight is not inconsiderable. The answer will be different on different days, due for one thing to differing velocity gradients (a steep gradient would favour the taller wing).

Sailgp needs to look really hard at the venues. Twice I've been to Cadiz now and both times super light winds. Crushingly dull to watch. Won't be going again. I even left before seeing the final race. Same story other venues. Would i watch F1 cars @ 30mph? No.
