SailGP Aarhus - The explosive mid season event

Спорт

From broken boats to broken bodies, the fourth stage of the SailGP season started in explosive fashion as the teams prepared for the mid season event. And while conditions did settle down for the racing, success was even harder to grasp and emotions started to boil over. Aarhus had it all.

Cheers Matt, Sail GP has fulfilled it's promise of great racing. Lots of lead changes, multiple winners and even a soap opera thrown in. Great stuff.

I expected better from Matt - disappointing to again find its just a lead into another fluff piece from sail GP with an American trying to hype up the bs of the event …..

I consider your commentary to be absolutely top of the game when it comes to sailing. Would it be possible to receive your input on SailGP moving to measurement of speed in Km/H rather than in knots? I'm not quite sure why this irks me so much, but it doesn't seem to be a proper measurement of nautical speed. Thoughts?

Knots is pretty much standard for nautical speed measurement.

@@cvanscho no. It is stated correctly. SailGP is measuring in km/h instead of knots. This (SailGPs measurement in km/h) is not appropriate measurement of nautical speed

@@DialedN_07 Aah - after reading it for the 39th time, I see what your'e saying in your OP! It was all that "could we receive input.." that got me all confused. Yes, KM/H is unacceptable, maybe they think they will attract a different audience with that? Seems a tad "woke/PC" to me. Lets just leave our language alone.

Thanks for clearing that up. Epic that they were basically "cornering too fast" :-D dick move in that race the other day by phil causing contact with NZ but otherwise he's one of my favourites to watch, awesome that he's there, everyone else is almost dull in comparison. Go Phil! But no more dick moves, please.

When was the last time you saw an F1 driver get up and go for a walk on the hood of their car while driving at 200 mph? Clearly the boat people need to re-visit their safety standards. Just because you take a rocket, and fly it _really_ close to the water, that doesn’t make it a boat.
