I wouldn't mind getting me one of those. Everyone says they kick like a bull cause it's super light lol. I still believe 44 magnum is the best handgun caliber out there.

I figure it'll buck some. I can't imagine it being worse than 400-gr .480 Ruger driven to .475 Linebaugh specs in that SBH Bisley I had, though.
Ya'll remind me of a young me back in the 70"s and 80'. I would buy and sell buy and trade trade and sell, back when I could do that in California. I would get something I wanted then I would see something I wanted more and trade. Sometimes it was just fun getting something new. I miss having that freedom here.

329PD....one of my favorite 44 mag outdoor carry revolvers for the last 12 years, reliable, very accurate, 6 shot and super lightweight. I've run over 2,000 rounds through mine since I've owned it and still as super tight the day I purchased it. I carry mine in a high ride snap closure Galco belt holster. Still looks like new. Also, the blast shield on mine does not appear to have any wear/flame cutting on it.

I really do miss that gun for the (near zero) weight on my belt. It may end up being one of those I regret letting go of...though I do love the 4" 29-10 Classic I'm wearing at the moment, in it's place...
I own a model 329PD. I took the titanium cylinder off and replaced it with a model 629 stainless steel cylinder instead. Hogue 500 S&W recoil absorbing rubber grips fit it perfectly. Mag-Na-Port quad ported mine and polished the hammer and trigger. Fixed trigger over travel stop. Mag-Na-Port EDM’ed (electrical discharge machined) a shallow vertical line in the notch of the V. And a Mepro Big Dot tritium in a white dot for the front sight. And Bowen Classic Arms black powder chamfered the front of the stainless steel cylinder and beveled the charging holes. And a Bowen Classic Arms stainless steel lanyard ring to put on the 500 S&W rubber grip to hang a lanyard on. I use a 72 inch boot leather lace and braid it off the lanyard ring.

I'd seen a few done that way online...with a SS cylinder.
I have the 4.1 inch Smith 69 Combat Magnum and I’m enjoying it quite a bit. Heavy enough to shoot, but not too big to tote. That gun is you have is amazingly light. I shoot mostly Skeeter Skeleton loads and occasionally a Keith load. But I guarantee that you will never shoot that gun enough to worry about durability.

Only a few ounces more than my .38 Special Colt DS and much lighter or about the same as many 9s with a heck of a lot more firepower. Glad to see you found something you can carry in the big calibers that just isn't too heavy to carry. What I am finding especially as I age is that guns that are lighter and more comfortable with adequate caliber are the ones I am most likely to carry. Nice find. Very nice holster. Thanks mr. plowboysghost.

I bought one of these and immediately sold it, no matter what I did/what loads I tried, the cases would stick in the chambers and I'd have to tap them out with a dowel. I even sent it to s&w to get it fixed and it came back with the same problem.

I load 44 mag, 20 grains of H110 under a 300 grain SnS projectile. They’re stiff in my Super Redhawk. I shot a cylinder of them in a 329. That sir, is a handful.

I've passed a few of them up...til now. Now I'm liking the idea of such a light.44 Mag.
One never knows when a utilitarian power tool might come in handy!
99.9% of the people are not gonna shoot thousands of rounds of full power magnums in that pistol! You made a good choice the 69 (especially 2 3/4”) is brutal to shoot anyways! That’s an awesome utilitarian 44mag, I found it on sale plus a S&W rebate with my bonus burning a hole through my pocket I may order it! I too also have the 44Spl bulldog but sold my 629 during the pandemic and only have my Henry in 44mag so I’m wanting a good hiking bear country revolver and that looks perfect! 👍🏻
I love 44 Mag, but those scandium frame 329's scare me.

I feel ashamed of myself because I don't own a. 44 magnum revolver. However, that's fixin' to change.
wooden grips are faster to draw because they slide easier in the hand, where as the rubber grip is more tacky on the hand and takes more effort to situate it just right in the palm.
That looks like a mighty fine carry gun. Might try some HS-6 for a bit lighter personal work.

I like magnums in Magnums 😁
Great EDC revolver. I use a light lead bullet load for practice loads. Your Keith bullet with a minimum Unique load would be my choice.
I have had one of these bad boys for a couple of years. I wanted a powerful revolver that I could carry while running a chainsaw or a brush cutter. Found a nice cross draw holster because the brush cutter has a harness on the right side. The 329PD had a learning curve for me. The factory wood grips are beautiful but unforgiving. The included rubber grips were better but still not there. Tried various models of VZ grips. They were great until you fired a round. Finally got a pair of X-frame grips. They were not so bad. First glove tried was made by Caldwell but they split in 6 shots. Currently use all leather P.I.G. shooting gloves with the X-frame grips. American Eagle and Winchester 240gr jsp are way stout and borderline uncomfortable. Fiocchi 240gr jsp are great practice ammunition. Plenty stout but not bad at all. Surprisingly a recently purchased 360PD with aftermarket Altamont grips shooting American Eagle 158gr jsp kicks way worse. Both revolvers are made to comfortably carry and shoot if you have to. Tried some Winchester 38 special +P 130gr in the 360PD less painful but still pretty bad.

@plowboysghost Went to a live auction of some poor dead guys collection. It will probably be my turn one day. They had a 657 PC that was in excellent condition. Couldn't find any ammunition searching online during auction. So, passed on it. However did score a 686 no dash in box that appeared unfired. Then a 686+ PC. Can't get used to the square butt of the 686. Before ever owning one thought that was just what I wanted. The 686+ PC is a joy. Moon clips, 2.5" flat sided barrel and a perfect double action. Have s great new year.
the wood grip is more geared towards Conceild carry....where you dont want any resistance from the grip dragging on your cloths when pulling the gun out from conceilment.

Tried one but I’m sure the hillery hole locked me up once or twice and that was that. It was too light anyways for serious practice. I could feel the athrisis growing! 🥴
I liked the guides choice until my 629 jumped out of it and I had to go back and pick it up.
I carry the jframe scandium PD model 357… the hogue grip that comes with it feels damn good and pulls well. But I keep putting wood or bone on it and it kicks like a mule. I guess I need to get past the little bit of nostalgia with wood and bone and put the dang hogue grip on it for usability.

Awesome video! Can't decide if the gun or the holster is prettier!! Loving this gun! Mine is like new but the thumb release is sticky and heavy. Any issues with your cylinder release? Someone replaced mine with a hogue extended release. Thinking I need to buy an OEM one.
i like chest carry, i am not sure if that type of chest strap will interfere with my packpack harness.

@@plowboysghost I did get one more gun just a day ago, since the laws are going to be changing on Dec 8th. I bought the Uberti El Patron, chambered for 45LC, with a 4.75-inch barrel. Normally I like longer barrels, but this gun is cool. I couldn't believe it sat in the shop for months. I'm going to have a gunsmith do some additional tuning on it.
This dude watched too many duck dynasty reruns.
I wish they made this in 357 mag. Or manufactures would offer lighter 44mag loads for self-defense. Something like 600 Ft/Lbs. I might buy anyway.
