It is like this - When I first came into the US as student, I did not understand why there was so much bad publicity against India as a very filthy country full of diseases, crime, Hinduism being very evil religion and good things like Yoga and Ayurveda was created by Buddhism and not by Hinduism lol! It took me decades to understand the root cause of this bad publicity. One is that US ally was Pakistan and India was the hated country. Another reason is that Indian culture (and the religion Sanathan Dharma - Hinduism). I can go on and on why US attacked Iraq but let's focus.

  • @tonysu8860

    Neutrality also rarely results in success. Name historically neutral countries that exist today, and there are only a tiny handful... Neutrality might be the best policy for those countries which are weak and find themselves in between major powers but are usually trampled by the powerful. Neutral countries are usually not fully trusted by anyone and typically have no close friends which make them easy targets, and never are trusted with the best resources that can be provided by friends. No one is going to risk severe harm to come to the aid of a neutral country. These are the lessons for India and also the reasons why India has an inferior economy trapping vast numbers of humanity in existence survival. India's future is more of the same which isn't terrible but it also isn't great, unable to harness the power of its best minds and the hands of a numerous population.

  • @RobertA-oi6hw

    @@tonysu8860 the problems that India has is not because they are neutral. India has other concerns and let's be realistic here. If India was all about war and decided to join America in all of its conquests, that would not help their economy in any way. The only thing it would do is make them more subservient to America. As far as nuetral countries go, I would rather be the leader of a neutral country and be able to sleep at night with a good conscience than be the leader of a war mongering nation and live with the guilt of causing millions of deaths around the world. Of the 200 nations in the world, the vast majority of them are neutral as far as military goes. It's only a select few that are not.

  • @tonysu8860

    @tonysu8860

    Жыл бұрын

    @@RobertA-oi6hw The 200 other nations you describe are not India, with the problems of an enormous population with all of its needs on such a large scale. Those other nations probably don't have territorial and maritime disputes with large competing countries as powerful as China and Pakistan. And, "subservience" is a state of mind. You're saying that it's better to simply do without, which is why other countries can push around India and India is unable to stand up for its own rights. You also overlook the fact that many of those 200 nations you claim are neutral welcome the USN to defend their rights to such things as economic fishing zones and protection against attack... The US generally does this at no cost to small and weak countries which do not have navies of their own because international transit routes benefits everybody. To some degree, this is why India has agreed to be a member of the Quad which according to early public releases is primarily to ensure free and unobstructed maritime passage for all countries and avoid the threat of places like the Malacca Strait being blocked. India cannot ensure access through the Malacca Strait by itself and so is willing to participate in furthering its own interest when it coincides with International Law. Do not imagine that India is a sufficient naval and military power to ensure its own national security. The Indian government realizes that despite its efforts to build a domestic military industry, it is lacking in many critical areas and so understands the value of alliances to cover its own shortcomings.

    @Beacone so according to you, an intelligent man cannot become a foreign minister of a flawed nation? Just for context every nation is flawed, USA has no good track record of rape cases, racism, police violence, state surveillance, war crimes, Income inequality, immigration problems. India has an active stealth aircraft program. Idk what you mean by jet engine not in India yet. Let's steer clear of rocket science, whole world acknowledges ISRO's capability in this domain. Cheaper than movies Rocket budgets, maintaining highest success rates....how many tries did USSR, NASA and China had to go through before success? Yea research that about ISRO. A man finds a rose beautiful while other finds the thorns problematic. Nuclear Submarine is most likely not a strategic urgency of India, it's not US, India ain't fighting global wars, our enemies are at our neighbors and our Nuclear strike range covers all of Asia, Europe and parts of Africa currently. The ongoing project Agni 6 will enable India to perform Nuclear strike anywhere around the world. Given India battled Pakistan liberating Bangladesh while USA and UK were at India's shore with a naval fleet and a nuclear submarine....and the fact that India won the war in 14 days causing Pakistan to perform the largest military surrender in human history is evident enough of it's military capacity. Mind President of US called PM Vajpayi and warned him of Pak conducting a nuclear strike on India.....India replied "If Pak nukes India it would be devastating for us....but I promise you there won't be a Pak tomorrow". Use the fact that India never lost a single war since independence save 1 against china in 1960s as cherry topping. Now lemme mention some positives that you overlooked.... UPI system is far better than SWIFT banking system and has been recognized and planned to adapt by many different nations globally. Engineers and doctors of India are no secrets.....most of top universities around the world are filled with Indians and Chinese students. The platform u r using to speak is being run by someone of Indian origin. World's vaccine bank. India is even trying to help the world with surplus food supplies which apparently WTO is forbidding, an organization that is responsible for making the example nations you used perfect while keeping 3rd world countries.....3rd world. Don't speak about stuffs without fully grasping the scale and details of events and causes.

    @Beacone but I will agree with you on health sector, child birth, poor infrastructure....India missed golden opportunities of attracting Companies moving out of china to India because of infrastructure. There are other flaws too, the education system is not the best, corruption is high, economy is not maintained, etc. But highlighting only the negatives would be unwise. Even the so called best countries have such long list of problems that if we start listing you would get confused if they are really better than India.

    I will agree with what Dr. Jaishankar just mentioned that, "Indians are reticent of their achievements". We consider it humility to not brag about our achievements, but its detrimental when done in excess (like anything else is surely). We need to be a bit more vocal of our achievements, and take a firm stance in what we consider worhty to believe. I have seen myself being such a person reluctant to share my achievement when in an international environment. Something for me to learn from this person.

If so, I believe both ideas can exist coherently. Upon independence, India was formed by an union of all the princely states in the region. Moreover, when you talk about Indian civilization, you must remember that it's not one uniform culture we are talking about. It's an umbrella term for the hundreds of different cultures that has been a part of India. If you really want India to be called a civilizational state, it is essential that different cultures be represented equally, for which it is really important to realise the autonomy of states. Of course, the Indian Union of States is not like the US or EU. Like you said, it continues to be a civilizational state, without any harm from it being called a union of states.

    No it's not more about education. We need people who are conscious of the history,culture,religion and philosophy of our civilization, who see India from a more decolonised lens, who deeply associate themselves with the ethos of the Indian civilization. Education,by which I pressume good English mostly, is NOT the determining factor. I am not saying it's not important but it has very less priority to qualities I mentioned above. Pappu Gandhi is more "educated" than Modi in that sense. Somebody mentioned Shashi Dhimmi Tharoor. It's not difficult to see he is more "educated" than Jaishankar in terms of experience in international bodies like the UN,etc. But Jaishankar is more useful than 1000 Tharoors. (Actually, Tharoor makes a negative contribution, so having 1000 Tharoors is worse than having just one!)😂😂
