I'll be doing that myself soon to prime it and again to confirm prior to fitting the distributor and firing up.👍👍

Great job, and very nostalgic for me. A Cloyes timing chain was part of a Rover V8 engine build I did over 40 years ago. Iskendarian cam kit from California, Holley 360cfm double pumper through common plenum manifold, plasma spark ignition, electric fuel pump, stage 1 heads etc. I used a custom built adapter plate to mate a Jag 4 speed box with overdrive to a Rover auto bellhousing. All slotted into a mk2 2 door escort. Seam welded, gusseted, roll cage, slipper springs, gp4 turreted bilsteins, 4 link + panhard rod. Turreted roller top front shocks, strut brace, double width anti roll bar, 3L Capri rear axle, 4 pot caliper brakes (from Austin Princess, cross drilled to take single line system! Huge money saver - bolt straight on to Ford strut). Rallye sport split exhausts. Totally stripped out with only 2 bucket seats and 6 point harnesses, it weighed under 1 ton and had 285bhp. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. Built it to rally, but had to use remaining kitty for something else. Blew off everything, including regularly one particular Ferrari, who eventually gave up. Drove it for 4 years then sold it to a guy who wrote it off within 3 weeks. Wonderful engine to work on.

@@stusoldcars4248 I wish the modern kv6 stuff was as straightforward as the v8 units. Heart breaking is an understatement.

@@RobsonRoverRepair I know little about the more modern rovers, closest I've ever come is having a rover metro many years ago. 👍 I do like the simplicity of the older stuff.

Would of done had I had been building anything other than a standard engine. But didn't fit a vernier timing gear so just dot to dot on the timing.
