Always been interested in the Rover V8 ( aka Buick 215) . Watching your various videos, you've shared a wealth of knowledge and mechanical experience. It would seem that used Rover V8's are exactly that. . . Used. Still an awesome little engine though 😊👍

Yes they are, and they hide wear really well, just because they run and sound ok doesn’t mean they are not completely worn out

It is a scary prospect, very easy for me to sit here spending someone else's money. Good luck with that phone call!

another master-class, thankyou i've been keeping my running, but worn -out 75 RR 3.5 engine, is it just rubbish, or is there any value in it that you know of ?
@PenguinMotors

It’s not got much in the way of value, if you’re going to buy one it makes more sense to buy a later or bigger capacity. But that said it can still be tuned or converted to a 3.9

yes unfortunately these days the V8 rover is only a viable option for power increases where you are trying to retain originality, or your looking for a "period" correct engine

@@PenguinMotors historic vehicle status allows updates to improve emissions. this jag engine was used for about 1yr in the new rangerovers, so, we have a petrol, V8, 4.2, rangerover engine. period correct ? close enough -DVLA happy. thanks for your replys
