    @mpe6678 thanks as always for watching. Have a donor wing now so will probably be grafting in a new front corner on the wing next time. 👍

    On my 74 GT which I owned since 1980, the front leading edges of the wings were leaded in at the factory to match the bonnet. I also observed that the two front leading edges are not symmetrical. Maybe it was because they were leaded in by hand at the factory. Also, on mine, there were only 2 (maybe 3) square washers on each wing near the windscreen. The remainder of the wing used round washers. Enjoyed your video, thanks.

    @David-wy9jl thanks for the info. They probably used whatever they had to hand back then. Thinking about it a couple of the larger oval washers had green paint on so they were probably on there but from what I can make out there for the horrible ones under the dashboard. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. 👍

    Nice job, I didn't know there were circular metal shims to vary the rear ride height. Back in the 80's I bought 2 uprated rear springs from a man who made them in a factory in the Wednesbury, West Midlands area, the car sat much better and level when the new spring were fitted. My mechanic mate fitted the springs, changed the rear brake disks & pads and welded a rear tie bar locator back onto tge side if the boot area.

    Thanks for that Stu. Some of these projects really take a lot longer than first envisaged, especially if you have to video a lot of the the processes along the way. When you first start out, it's quite an interesting project but after months of work, some things start to get tedious and the realisation creeps in that this is going to take a very long time to fruition. Some nice work carried out though, saved another classic to carry on the P6 heritage.

    Believe it or not, when you put your seats back in, raise them off the floor by an inch using some hardwood strips which you pass the bolts through. It's a subtle mod but it actually makes a difference re the driving position and view out of the car. I bought a 1967 MGB GT in the 1980s which the first owner had done this, they are still there - I bought the same car back a month ago after 36 years (yes I'd been in touch with you recently). All the best with the resto - the floors look good.

  • @stusoldcars4248
    @stusoldcars4248Ай бұрын

    Sounds a good idea although I will be replacing the seat foams and covers so that's probably going to raise them slightly. 👍

  • @marknelson5929
    @marknelson5929Ай бұрын

    Fair enough. For my car the seats when I had it in the 80s were fine, and in recent years it's been retrimmed by a previous owner yet they retained the hight increase. A personal choice I guess - but I've heard of this mod before. All the best.
