Pretty sure that's "hang in darkness as time flies by", and later on, during the slower bit, it's very hard to hear whether it's "dope" or even "though". As the former makes little sense, I'm inclined to think it's the latter, but I really can't tell.

His early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when "It's Time to Take A Shit on the Company's Dime" came out in '83, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the song a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Rodney has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

My dad actually played cowbell with him when Big Rodney was part of the Munch Bunch and co-wrote "Shut up(My Dick's Out)" and "Get this cunt out of my face" including the dance mix. They were all happy when Rod went out on his solo career, though and even had a reunion at the legendary Ballsack Theatre in Atlanta next to Wendy's.

This was his encore performance and for months after that our Lt was kicking down stall doors trying to get airmen back to work. Rodney Munch was a real legend. I was hearbroken when I heard about what happened in Reno.

I'm a safety inspector at Boeing and I listen to this every day from 9:30am to 10:15am and again after lunch. Sometimes I have to use the aircraft lavatories because the bathrooms are full. The world has never been the same since that tragic day in Reno but together we keep The Munch alive in our bowels.

Between this and I Glued My Balls To My Butthole Again, Obscurest Vinyl is getting noticed.

Worked with a guy years ago that always took 1/2 hour dumps. When you couldn't find him you would just go to the men's room and there he was in a stall. He got laid off for a year or so and had to get a job at a dairy loading trucks. He said it sucked because his bathroom breaks were timed ; he had to load so many box trucks an hour and he was not making his rate! When he came back to work with us he was right back to his shit breaks !!!

They need to print stickers of this album cover with all the words removed and replaced with a QR code sending people to this video. Then we can stick them on the inside of workplace bathroom stalls.

I have listened to this an inordinate amount of times....well done.

This is the best song I've ever heard in my entire life.

As something of a music historian I've been looking into Rodney Munch's history in the music business. Rodney's success with "it's time to take a shit..." whilst seemingly a one hit wonder was in fact not his only success. He has indeed written and released numerous tracks most of which appear to be misattributed to other musicians. Rodney had a fairly unique writing style, as the first autistic man to ever live he was unable to comprehend abstract ideas and metaphors so all of his lyrics were taken from his personal experiences. "It's time to take a shit..." is often misunderstood to mean that he wanted to defecate during work hours however it was revealed from court documents that Rodney would "deshine the coins on a daily basis to prevent petty theft" providing a valuable service for the company and the industry as whole however, the practice was stopped in 1986 after a unknown bacterial outbreak in Lazerne county. Rodney said of the outbreak "the coins are supposed to be used for vending machines and gumball dispensers, I can't understand why they would put deshined coins in their mouth." The incident was later adapted by Munch into the 1995 blockbuster, "outbreak" starring Rodney's close friend and confidant Dustin Hoffman. During time on set he became quite close with a then upcoming actor by the name of Morgan Freeman who had previously portrayed a fictionalised version of Rodney in the film "rain man," where he played the younger brother of Tom Cruise who had become his caretaker after his release from care. In truth it was a mental health facility that Rodney had been placed into after the murder of a babysitter on Halloween night. Rodney had maintained his innocence throughout stating that his friend Mike Myers was to blame, this later turned out to be true after Myers was responsible for another murder with "the pentaverate" however, as it was only his career that was the victim, he received no charges. Munch went on to successfully write both musically and for screen before disappearing in 2014, leaving a cryptic message on twitter (now X) which read "Now leaving Kuala Lumpur for Beijing. Once we're in the air the pilot said I can have a go at driving. So excited. 370 out!"
