I currently have 4 fosgate 12 inch P3’s in a Toyota 4 runner, and have them on 2 kicker 1200 watt amps and am pushing 600 to each sub. I have to say, I am very impressed by the sound quality, and power of the sub compared to others. Thank you for making an awesome product

Damn you are OG! I started in 1989, only later in my career here to take over "RTTI Online" around 2010. Sounds like your Mazda probably shook the whole street! i have installed fosgate speakers and a fosgate 1200 watt amp and bass in my 2011 ford expedition. i am now deaf. wokeup the nieghbours 2 miles away thought i was having a live rock concert.wow! for less than 1500 dollars it is one hell of a system hearing aides should be here tomorrow

I’m 16 my first system is going like this-ORDERED: 4 rockford fosgate door speakers, A Skar one channel 1500 watt amp (for subs) and a dual 12 sub box for my xcab silverado. NOT ORDERED: x2 Rockford Fosgate P3D4 12s. I’ll keep u guys posted on my experience with my system after i get the subs ordered with my next check. Hope it bumps!

I have a single T1 10” on just 500 watts in a big custom box tuned lower than rockford’s recommendation. The depth and clarity is unreal. You cannot find a better sub at its price point

The P3 is an awesome subwoofer. Keep in mind the P3 10" is rated to handle 500 Watts RMS. However, the Kicker CXA800.1 can produce 800 Watts, so you'll be over powering that woofer by 300 Watts.

I am now running 3 T1 12s in my toyota rav4 I started with p3 12s and I will say the p3 is an amazing subwoofer. They can really handle a clean 800-1000 watts and have great sound quality. I miss the sound quality of the p3s now that I'm running T1s but the T1s get much louder and have more spl.

Sounds like you need to upgrade your power source. I could misunderstand though. You should try running 2 of the t1’s on the same amount of wattage and see if there’s a difference for the better in quality

I just got my T1 12. But using a stock radio :/ but few years back was running my P3 15 and that hit harder than most people 2 15s together. P3 and T1 are both awesome

I just bought a p1-2x10 enclosure and these things are not only loud enough but keep the sound clean with great sound quality and no distortion. Unlike kicker enclosures being all muddy and rumbled with 0 sound quality.

Hello, I recently got back into Audio and bought an old school Solo Baric 12" with a ported box and a Punch amplifier, The bass is very Muddy and insecuate due to the ported box. I was recommended to go with 3 10" in a sealed box for a more SQ experience. I have a RF BD1500 amp to play with and was looking for lots of Bass but also accurate, which Subwoofer would you recommend for a SQ setup?

Quality of bass mostly has to do with the type of subwoofer used combined with the enclosure design. The Rockford Fosgate Power bd1500.1 produces 1500W x 1 @ 2-ohms, but unfortunately, 3 subwoofers (regardless of what you get) will not create a 2-ohm load. Specifically, why were you recommended 3 subwoofers? Was this simply based upon the airspace available? We typically work backwards to find how much available airspace there is to work with, then select a subwoofer model, size, and quantity best optimized for that space. It may worth calling our technical support so they can discuss the various options with you. I'd like you to have good bass, so instead of taking a stab in the dark to see if a different type of system might work, let's have our technical guys recommend the best option for you and your vehicle. Just got the 2 x 12" setup in the box designed for them. Not only do they look cool but they're a much better option to the absolute gouging I was looking at with the W3s.

Awesome, Mike! The T1D210 is an fantastic subwoofer rated to handle 600 Watts RMS / 1,200 Watts Max. To prevent burning the voice coil, keep the power applied to 600 Watts or less since the peak value is based on musical transients.

So my screws under my power one broke off is there a video on how to replace them

Don't really understand your comment regarding "screws under your power one broke off." Are you referring the screws that hold the subwoofer together located on the bottom part of the subwoofer (magnet) have broken off? No, we don't see this happening, so we have no video on replacement of screws that hold the subwoofer together. You may want to contact our technical support specialists to see if they can help you identify what parts are broken and your options on getting it fixed at 1-800-669-9899.

Used to have a couple P3's 12" and those things bumped! Really want an upgrade, looking for a full car stereo upgrade, for the subs I want something that really hits, is one T3 worth the money or would a couple T2 13" or T2 16" be better?

All of our subwoofer are engineered for Sound Quality, so it depends on your goals. A lot of fanatics use the T2 13" and 16" subwoofers and have amazing bass response!

Hi- I ve built a fiberglass subwoofer closed enclosure and planned to mount the Punch 10" P2 subwoofer in it. The thing is that the enclosure came out a volume of about 35 liters . Will the bigger enclosure degrade the sound of subwoofer?. I do not want to mount a 12" sub as it wont fit stealth in the trunk.

The P2D4-10 is recommended at 0.59 cu. ft. (16.7 liters) sealed or 1.40 ft. (39.6 liters) vented. If you plan on running it sealed, you will have better low frequency response, but your mechanical power handling will be lower. If you decide to port it, your vent will be very long. Depending upon what you decide to do, contact our technical support at rftech.custhelp.com for the the max power you can apply to a sealed box, or the vent diameter and length for a vented box.

I have two 15 P3s, each on their own Punch P1000 amp. But my magnets shifted and destroyed the voice coils on both. Would I notice a big difference if upgraded to 2 T1s in the same box (ported, recommend enclosure size for both) on the same amps, or am I better just getting another set of P3s ?

The Punch P1000X1bd is rated to produce 1000 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm RMS and up to 1,430 Watts Dynamic. The P3D2-15 are only rated to handle 600 Watts RMS. Since the T1D215 are rated to handle 1000 Watts RMS they are a better match for that amplifier.

I have Dual P1 Subs with R2-500x1d. Do you think they fit? And which box is best for the subs? Ported or Sealed?

What model number P1 subwoofers do you have? We currently have 6 models called the "P1".

So whats the best for all around music, but also will beat hard . I drive a little 94 honda civic hatchback I've been using a alpine type s 12 for a year. I'm looking to upgrade this year. I'm redoing my electrical. Alternator and the big 3 . not that my last set up needed it .

Great question Gavin, the advantage of Rockford Fosgate subwoofers is their ability to reproduce all bass frequencies, not just a 60Hz "whomp, whomp". Hopefully Rockford will still reply. I’m running Two PPS4-8s in a sealed box with 10 inch bass radiators. In the same box I have two nice tweeters that will match the frequencies perfectly. However I have a 2 channel amp. As of right now I ran the wires from the rockfords and the tweeters to the block terminals, that exits the box and allows wire connection on the outside. So 2 positives and 2 negatives on each terminal. Those two block terminals exit the box, and will run to the amp. So my final question - Will it be okay to run the 2 rockfords, and the 2 tweeters (have crossovers) on a two channel amp?

Hi Pierce, so it sounds like you have a tweeter and a midrange on each channel, right? If so, yes this will work. The amp will “see” a 4-ohm load from 80Hz-5kHz (frequency response of the PPS4-8) and assuming you have a 5kHz High Pass crossover on the tweeter, the amp will “see” a 4-ohm load from 5kHz-20KHz. If the crossover is offset, say 4kHz, then between 4kHz-5kHz the amp will “see” a 2-ohm load.

Which 8” subwoofer would you recommend for a 92 Lexus Sc400 without a box in the original center back position? Thank you for your help. It seems like it needs a free air speaker. Bass sounds loose and poppy.

Hi bsrodeo7s, so you have existing 8" Rockford Fosgate subwoofers in an enclosure now? Which way in the enclosure facing? If they are "popping" this may be due to over-excursion. A single 8" may not provide enough bass you're expecting out of it.

I have decent electrical in my car 1/0 cabling second battery and just purchased two twelves t1 twelves I tried them out with a fosgate 500.1 aswell as a massive 1500.1 and think they sound pretty much the same. Can I run more power to them

The Power T1 12" subwoofer is designed to handle 800W continuously. If you drive more power to them, you'll likely burn the voice coils. You can see all the specs here: rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/t1d212/

i already installed the prime R165-S kit in my car and im thinking of buying single prime R1S4-12 with a 180 watt rms amp. or should i buy a 240 watt rms amp? i dont want to overpowering bass cause i only have 2 door speakers running on aftermarket headunit, nice taste in music btw

Hi Thompa! The Prime R165-S speakers are great performers and rated to handle 40W RMS. A single R1S4-12 subwoofer would be the perfect addition rated to handle 200W RMS. You can match the subwoofer with an R150X2 bridged to produce 150W @ 4-ohms (a good matchup). Another option is switching the front speakers from the source unit to the front channels of an R250X4 which would produce 40W RMS stereo. The rear channels of the R250X4 could then be bridged to the subwoofer to produce 125W @ 4-ohms. Either scenario would provide a good balance of mids & highs to bass ratio.

Rockford Fosgate The P3d2-15 rated @ 600w it will be a perfect fit for a RF-P1000x5 in the 5ch that its rated @ 1 ohm 500w?

Do you cover warranty for the sub popping out of place? Voice coils are fine they both read 4ohms, and if I push it back in it sounds fine but at around 60hz it pops out of place and sounds horrendous

Hi Gps jb, I'd like for you to consider the "cone area" vs. power applied to your scenario, to see if it meets your expectations: The P2D2-12 / P2D4-12 subwoofer have an Sd = 570 cm^2 (1,142 cm^2 cone area) and rated at 400 Watts RMS, so you can apply 800W to both of them. Moving to the T2S1-13 / T2S2-13 will provide an Sd = 707 cm^2 and is rated at 2000 Watts RMS. If you used the T2S1-16 / T2S2-16 it would provide an Sd = 1,034 and is rated at 2500 Watts RMS. Moving to a single 13" will give you 435 cm^2 less cone area, but you can apply 1,200 more Watts. Without plotting an SPL estimate, we can guess this would provide a negligible SPL difference. Moving to a single 16" will give you 108 cm^2 less cone area, but you can apply 1,700 more Watts. Without plotting an SPL estimate, we can guess this would provide a small SPL increase. Consider a +3dB Increase is 1.23x the perceived loudness, so you theoretically need 2x the amplifier power or twice the cone area (increase from 2 to 4 subwoofers.) A +6dB increase is 1.5 times perceived loudness, so you would need 4x the amplifier power or quadruple the cone area (increase to 8 subwoofers.) A +10dB increase is twice as loud, you would need 10x the amplifier power or increase to 20 subwoofers).

JL w7 has one single spider that should have at least 2. They're known to sag. love rockford

If you're doing a single P3 12", hopefully it's the P3D2-12 so you can wire it to a 1Ω load. At 600W power handling, either amplifier will work well, but I prefer the Punch model since it's Class-BD, so you'll have a little better sounding bass with it. If you're doing a ported enclosure (which I recommend), be sure to engage the Infrasonic Filter to prevent ultra-low (inaudible) frequencies from damaging the subwoofer. Punch P500X1bd Rated: 500 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm Dynamic: 787 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm Prime R2-750X1 Rated: 750 Watts x 1 @ 1Ω Dynamic: 830 Watts x 1 @ 1Ω

It's not a matter of which one is more "powerful", but rather which one can handle more power. The Power Series (right) can withstand the most amount of power, the Punch Series (middle) can handle a high amount of power, and the Prime Series (left) can handle low-to-moderate power levels.

I'm running 2 p3 10s on a 1200w.. but after seeing this video lol I want more. About to put my 6.5s in my doors

Ras, by chance is it a 1200.1 fosgate? I recently bought the 1200.1 and was absolutely thrilled with it. And its watts are actually higher per ohm load, the dyno is incredible for it. I'm currently not running it right now as I have used my older 1000 watt fosgate from the 90s and it beats the absolute hell out of my p3s. I'm going to have to get a set of t1s or t2s to get what I want.

It's always best to give any subwoofer some "break in" time to normalize the resonant frequency and sound quality. You're free to hammer it, but I never go "full volume" on any system because that's typically when you start burning voice coils.

Hello. Is a daul 2 ohm a 4 ohm because it has four terminals? And if you have to punch 500 rms p3 10s is it do you recommend a 2 Chanel 1000 watt punch amp? Or does it have to a mono amp?

A dual-2-ohm subwoofer has two voice coils, each with it's own pair of (+) and (-) terminals. Use our Woofer WiringWizard to see how a dual voice coil subwoofer can be wired to create different impedances: www.rockfordfosgate.com/support/wiringwizard.aspx For the P3 subwoofers, you can use whatever amplifier you choose, assuming it can play the frequencies needed for the speaker. Also, be certain not to exceed the RMS power ratings of the subwoofer to prevent from burning the voice coils.

Yes, they are very close. The performance is very similar, so the major difference is the power increase from 250W to 300W RMS and you go from a Single Voice Coil to a Dual Voice Coil.

Depends on how much SPL you want. the P2's with a little more power handling will give you slightly more output. We just suggest keeping the amplifier power just under the power handling capacity of the subwoofers so you don't blow them up.

Question. I'm putting T2652-S component speaker kits in all 4 doors in my double cab silverado wired to a 4 output 400 watt amp from you guys I'm also putting 2 powered ps8s under front seats and 2 t1s2-10s under back seat with a custom box wired to a t10001bd amp. I will be using 10 farad capacitor along with xp3400 additional battery under the hood with a 500amp isolater. I'm also putting in a Axxess AXDSPX-GM31 What can I expect from this system?

I have 2 different boxes coming they are both downfire type boxes one is ported one is sealed. Which do you recommend?

I would suggest calling our technical support with the Vb (and Fb of the vented enclosure) so they can suggest which is the better enclosure to use. As for the entire system, it sounds well matched and should provide great sound quality!

Before I was listening to music maximum of 20 to 30minutes in my car..after fiixng new component speakers from RF it's only stopping when I switch off the car..loving those speakers...now planning for prime sub also...it's not annoying type like JBL,pioneer,kicker..something is there in RF speakers and woofers..love from India

Yes, absolutely. The T1500-1bdCP is rated to produce 1500 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm, with Dynamic Power up to 1715 Watts x 1. If you use two T1D412 subs, you can wire them to 1-ohm. They can handle up to 800 Watts RMS each, so 2 will provide up to 1600 Watts power handling capacity.

I just tested (2) T112D2 (2004 model) vs (2) P3D2-12 (current model) and there was very little difference, with both sets running 600w RMS. Did the Punch series improve THAT much? read: very little difference = no discernible difference in SPL

Hi Screaminggiraffe, The T112D2 is rated to handle 600W RMS and the P312D2 is rated to handle 500W RMS. The sensitivity is 86 dB (T112D2) and 87 dB (P312D2) respectively. Assuming both used the exact same enclosure and the same power (as you noted), we wouldn't expect any huge difference. In a side-by-side comparison, you'll need to have at least 1 dB difference to hear even the SLIGHTEST difference. Now this is a theoretical position, we're not saying it's O.K. to do this because you'll blow up your subs... but in order to hear a noticeable difference, you'll need to double your cone area or double your power input. That would provide a 3dB increase which would be a noticeable upgrade.

I got a single 12 inch t0d4 subwoofer and I was wondering if a rockford fosgate r2-1200x1 amp would it break the subwoofer or would it be fine if I overpowered it cause I know that the rms rating is 700 watts and the peak is 1400 watts

Great idea to check this. The T0D412 is rated to handle 700W RMS and can be wired to a 2-ohm load. However, the R2-1200X1 is designed to be operated at 1-ohm, so there is a mismatch there. Are you considering adding a 2nd subwoofer, so you can wire them down to a 1-ohm load? If so, two subwoofers can handle 1,400 Watts, therefore the R2-1200X1 would be perfect because Dynamic Power is 1,389 Watts x 1 @ 1Ω.

Yes, just running my trusty ppi 2150am bridged to 2 individual sealed 12s and left right mono up front with the old school original rockford tweeters in the dash and separate 3 or 4 inch mid and 6.5 inch midbass in each door. Wish you still made the separate mids and the old school canned hams for rear fill. That old school combo of tweeter, mid and midbass was so clean and powerful sounding.

Unfortunately there are no reputable old school installers around in fort collins, not even a rockford dealer. In the 90s in Denver quality auto sound was the place to go but they must have changed owners and no longer rep rockford.

The P3 subwoofer is our most popular in the line, so that's a really good setup you have there. If you upgrade the subwoofers you would need to go from a 600W (P3) to an 800-1200W (T1) and double your amplifier power (add a secondary R2-1200X1) for it to be noticeable. Otherwise, simply switching subwoofers wouldn't gain you much difference.

Good day I purchased this speaker in enclosure on amazon and the front suspension was dry rotted when received. I contacted the seller and they agreed to accept the return however my local shipper cannot ship due to restrictions. Shipping with dhl or fedex is costing almost the cost of what was paid for the item. Is there a kit of any sort to have this repaired as to avoid my loss?

That's great! They are very similar sound quality wise, but the T0 subwoofer is rated to handle more power. The P3D4-12 is rated to handle 600 Watts RMS and the T0D412 is rated to handle 700 Watts RMS.

How the he’ll do you remove the dust cap on the latest P3 10? I have a month old wonder that’s rattling and it sounds like the voice coil former is unglued. This is such a disappointment and I didn’t buy it a a RF dealer so no warranty. This is also a common pro blend I’m reading. The sub literally looks brand new and was never over powered and gains were set with a scope.

I recommend a Rockford fosgate t500.1bdcp. Or a t1000.1bdcp and u will have room to upgrade later if u go with the 1000 watt model.

hey i have two p2 12s was planning on running them with a pioneer 9601 at 1 ohm and the amp is said to push 1200rms.will they handle the 1200rms just fine considering they do more than rated or its going to be too much for them?

Hi Charlie, Thanks for your inquiry. Assuming you have two of the P2D4-12 models since wiring them would create a 1-ohm load. Those subwoofers are rated to handle up to 400W RMS, so you'll have 800 Watts of power handling capacity. Is this the Pioneer GM-D9601 model you're referring to? If so, the specs show continuous power output at 1,200 W x 1 @ 1-ohm, so you'll be over-powering the subwoofers by 400 watts. We would suggest stepping up to the P3D4-12 subwoofers since they are rated to handle 600W each, so two would give you the proper 1,200W total power handling capacity.

@@charliemilan4892 The L110000 is rated at 1000W x 1 @ 1-ohm. You need to move up from the P2 to the P3 subwoofers if you want to run that much power. If you use those big amplifiers on P2 subwoofers, you'll smoke 'em in no time.

Sound quality wise they are very similar. The major difference is the higher power handling. The practical side of this is you may not see much of a difference since you'll theoretically need to double your cone area or double your power applied (assuming the subs could handle it) in order to get a +3dB increase that would be noticeable.

@@brandonseiter5471 Because many fanatics start at the higher performing (Power) series. If there wasn’t a T1, you would be jumping into [an equivalent] to a T2 model that’s rated around 2kW. However, in your situation, comparing the P3 to a T1 is similar to comparing the P2 to a P3. It’s a marginal difference.

Yes you can. You just want to make sure you don't exceed the RMS Power ratings of the subwoofer, so I'm not 100% sure what T1 subwoofer you're referring to, but if you're using the 15" or 12" standard sized subwoofers, you should be fine: T1D215: 1,000W RMS T1D212: 800W RMS T1D210: 600W RMS T1S1-12: 600W RMS T1S1-10: 500W RMS

Yea but sundown will get really low like a bunch of floping air . All these do is hit hard and sound really good doing it and last forever. Lol! Rockford fosgate has always made quality products.

@@BabyMatrix27 You're welcome James! Relatively speaking, impedance doesn't matter as long as it's properly matched to the amplifier. You will need to use both voice coils, so a P3D4-12 will be wired to a 2-ohm or 8-ohm load and a P3D2-12 will be wired to a 1-ohm or 4-ohm load. If you look at those amp pages, click the WIRING WIZARD tab and it will show you how to wire the voice coils.

I love my P3 15s. I have two. Each one on their own Punch 1000 and they're taking it like a champ. I think the P3s can take 1500rms no problem. Even when I upgrade to something else I'll forever be a RF fan.

@@brandonseiter5471 When comparing subwoofers side by side, you need to compare cone area (Sd), speaker sensitivity (SPL), and power applied (Watts). Doubling cone area (Sd) or Power Applied (Watts) will result in only +3dB more output, or 1.23 times louder. A four times increase would result in +6dB more output, or 1.52 times louder. You would need to increase the output to +10dB in order to get 2.0 times (double) the loudness. As you can see, if you're literally comparing side by side, you'll need to go from 1 to 2 subwoofers or twice as much power (+3dB) just to to hear any noticeable difference in loudness. Both the P3 12" and T1 12" are rated at 85 dB and the difference in cone area is only 22 cm2, so essentially powering them with the same amplifier would result in no real difference in output. However, since you're powering the P3 with 600W and the T1 with 1000, this calculates into only a 2.2 dB increase. In other words, comparing the P3 against the T1 in your scenario, the average person would hear little difference.

The Power T600-2 is rated to produce 200 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm, 300 Watts x 2 @ 2-Ohm, and 600 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohm Bridged. The P1S4-10 is rated to handle 250 Watts RMS. So if you're going to wire 1 subwoofer per channel in stereo mode, you'll be totally fine.

well the p2s im getting are both d2 im planning on pushing them with a kenwood 9105 which is 2ohm stable and gives a total of 900rms .will it be too much for them considering its jus 50 rms extra on each sub?

Now they have brands like sundown audio Dc audio aound digital they are very very cheap and they may get wayyyyyy louder dan any rockfordfosgate products.. BUT how long will they last?😂 i started with rockford subs and amps and i will always buy them.just think about it do u need more beefy sorounding ruber or do u need more cone area? Wich makes more sence? I would atick with more cone area.. keep it up rockford..

The difference is Rockford Fosgate engineers focus on the performance of the subwoofer with an emphasis on Sound Quality ... we're not gluing multiple spiders together to prevent the speaker from breaking while trying to reproduce a narrow band of frequencies. Don't get me wrong, I love Rockford Fosgate and I use their products all the time. But I equally love Sundown products as well--now, Rockford Fosgate products, I can push a tiny bit more power to them than they are rated for, and be comfortable with it in the right box/enclosure. But I wouldn't want to do that all the time. RF products are made to do what they say they are made to do; they aren't like Sundown speakers where you can throw as much wattage as possible at them and you know they'll last. RF speakers are purposely made to do their ratings and not more than that, and that's good. It makes it very easy to build boxes to spec without worrying about "what if I give it too much wattage?" Sundowns however are made for POWER... and BEEFY, HEAVY speakers, that can probably easily do 25-30% more power in RMS than they are rated for and be perfectly fine. This isn't because they are badly marketed, but more or less because they are underrated. Which can have downsides but also plus sides. I do however commend RF for making their speakers and products not overrated, but also not underrated like other brands. It's a sweet mix of right-in-the-middle. You don't get underrated products like Sundown, and you don't get overrated products like Boss, Dual, Pyle, Alpine (more or less my opinion for Alpine), etc.

@@rockfordfosgate just the regular p3 12 and t1 12. I know the p3s are rated 600 rms and the t1s are 800. I’m just wondering if the extra 400 watts of power is worth the jump in price.

@@codyisme8062 You're looking at a nominal improvement at around +2dB difference. Technically, you'll need to double your "cone area" or "power applied" in order to hear a +3dB increase, which would be noticeable.

Hi Rejiv, In your other post you asked about running one T1D412. If you are running two T1D412 , they will provide up to 1600 Watts power handling (800 Watts RMS each). Since the T2500-1bdCP produces too much power, I would suggest running the subwoofers in series/parallel to create a 4-ohm load. Although it's rated to produce 1500 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohm, dynamic power output is 1823 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohm, so that is a better match-up. Use at least 12 AWG for the subwoofer wiring and 1/0 AWG for the B+ and GND.

@@rejivshankar242 Very nice setup. You may find in the Mitsubishi Lancer that firing the subwoofers toward the rear license plate may produce better bass due to the acoustics. This is because the subwoofers have more air to compress rather than firing into the rear seats.

The Punch P3 subwoofers hammer and are our best selling subwoofer. Unfortunately, we don't have estimates for "blocks", only how many counties or states you can hear them. Ha Ha. It totally depends on how much power you apply and the type of enclosure you build for them.

@@reckingball6242 That would be a great match because the P3 Dual Subwoofer enclosure can handle up to 1200 watts, so that amplifier is perfect. My wife has a Honda Pilot and the acoustics in this vehicle will SLAM with that enclosure!

Do you mean the R500X1D? Yes, if the P3 is a P3D4-12, then it can be wired to a 2-ohm load, exactly what the amplifier needs. That amplifier produces 500 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohms, which is under the woofer's rated power of 600 Watts RMS, so it's a good match

No absolutely not, I have my 1 P3 on 1200 watts and it takes it like a champ. Been 2 years with zero problems, these subs are really underrated

Can the p3 hit down to 30hz with authority? Or more "punchy" and better suited for rock n roll music? I listen to rap trap and hip hop primarily but want more SQL as opposed to just sq and SPL

Absolutely YES, the P3 subwoofers have the capability to play 30Hz and lower based on their very low resonant frequencies shown below. However, keep in mind the proper enclosure is required for accurate bass response. IE: putting a 12" in a 0.75 cubic foot enclosure isn't going to cut it. We do have recommended enclosures in the owner's manuals or you can contact our support group at 1-800-669-9899 Mon-Fri. 8am-5pm for a custom enclosure. P3 10” Fs: 26.6 Hz P3 12” Fs: 26.5 Hz P3 15” Fs: 21.7 Hz

The Frequency Response is correct since I didn't know what model you were referring to in the beginning, I guessed the 2Ω DVC model (P3D2-12) which has an Fs of 26.5 (27) Hz. The P3D4-12 has an Fs of 27.7 (28) Hz. HOWEVER, keep in mind the frequency response is a relative number since the enclosure has a HUGE influence over how low the subwoofer can actually play. Take the frequency response with a grain of salt. Call technical support and give them your goals and they can provide an enclosure that does what you want.

I’m using p3d412 on my prime 500.1d monoblock? Is underpower?

Hi Rejiv, The older P3D412 is rated to handle 500 Watts RMS. A single woofer can be wired to create a 2-ohm load. Do you mean the Prime R500-1D? This is rated to produce 500x1 @ 2 ohms, but can dynamically produce up to 580 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohms. In my view, this is a perfect match. Looking to buy a SINGLE 12 Rockford Fosgate T1 Series and I plan on buying The Rockford Fosgate T1000-1BDCP..would that Amplifier be SAFE on pushing The SINGLE 12?, some advisors from crutchfield say it will be safe and some say it will be too much for it, so I’m confused since the ones say it will be safe cause the amps are underrated..also I have seen a few ppl push that single sub fine with the full potential watts that amp gives it just trying to make sure it’s for sure safe from an expert and experience from you guys. Thank you

First, what model T1 subwoofer are you referring to? We have 3 generations of "T1" subwoofer, including the "slim" models that all have different power handling ratings. Also what size of "T1"? The exact model number will help us with the proper answer.

@@billyjeepus824 The Remote Punch Level takes over for the internal Gain control, and neither of them control the amount of "power" the amplifier produces, just how quickly that power level is achieved. The P3D4-10 are rated to handle up to 500 Watts RMS, so two would provide 1,000 Watts RMS power handling. If you run the system average-to-hard, yes you will likely smoke those voice coils because the R1200-1D is rated to produce 1,200 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm with Dynamic power up to 1,400 Watts.

@@billyjeepus824 Hard to say because it's 100% on how they are being driven. Technically, applying more continuous power than the RMS rating is exceeding the design.

Don’t be fooled, the P1 (aka prime series) absolutely kicks! My friend has a single 12 inch P1 sub in the loaded enclosure that fosgate also sells them in, wired it to his factory amp on his murdered out Range Rover and yes it’s limited by that amp and dumb software that controls it being confused at the load but even so it flexes his windows and defiantly can feel it even outside the SUV cranked up. They sell a dual enclosure, his factory amp fail safes sometimes with dual 12 inch P1’s kicking.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience with other fanatics! For others reading this, the P1 is a Punch Series subwoofer and the models that are sold as individual drivers are the exact same models used in single woofer and dual woofer "Loaded Enclosure" systems.

@@rockfordfosgate oh that makes sense! Can you help me understand more about your door speakers a bit more? Specifically the R165x vs P1650 Vs. T1650 vs P165-SI for example. Like I worked out the 65 = 6.5 inch.. but what does each letter indicate? R seems to indicate lower end.. but otherwise I don’t understand it..

Typically here's the rundown: [R] is Prime (good) [P] is Punch (better) [T] is Power (best) • R165X = Prime 6.50" coax • P16 = Punch 6.00" coax • P1650 = Punch 6.50" coax • P1675 = Punch 6.75" coax • P165-SI = Punch 6.50" System (separate tweeter & midrange) w/ Internal crossover • P165-SE = Punch 6.50" System (separate tweeter & midrange) w/ External crossover

Which subwoofer is best for home theater system. For my diy home theater. My LFE frequency range is 80hz.

Any of our 10" or larger subwoofers will work just fine in a home theater system. Just be sure to match the impedance and power handling to your receiver amplifier, so you don't overpower them or damage the amplifier. Any of these models I would recommend: • Punch 10" or 12" P1, P2, P3 series • Power 13" or 16" T1, T2 series • Power 19" T3 series
