Skar ddx is good but go evl series

I have 2 p3s in my suv and also kicker 6x8 x4 with another amp on those and to top it off I got a capacitor. Went to sound contest ND before I tuned the amps because I had them way low ND still hit 135 dbs

the box helps 90% of the resonance of the bass. the test should have been done on the same box

Now do that same test with a Rockford T2 or T3. That wd be a fair comparison

Um looks like the skar sub is in a skar pre fab enclosure and the RF is in a pre fab enclosure. Also the skar is ported, is the RF's enclosure ported? I know RF makes what's called a slam box for that 10 and it's ported. Also what wattages were going to each? And a p2 was used. The p3 can take more wattage. I mean if your gonna compare apples at least make it fair. Just my opinion this is inconclusive.

ddx is good for one thing loud and cheap - its good enough for most people - the rockford is for those who wanna listen to theyre music everyday ie: sounds better - but its box dependant

That's plenty of good skar speakers that blow Rockford out of the water and there's alot of sub manufacturers that are high quality that best buy doesn't sell to because they are not known but 90 percent of the population (DC audio, deaf bonce, American bass, psi audio)

I've have both skar and rocksford subs skar does out perform them. Rocksford was the old Era. Alot has changed in audio

That was sad the scar out performed the rocksford The scar produced more decibels which is better That's sad when rocksford can't hold up to it's name like the saying goes you're just buying A name look for quality not a name Funny thing I bought a dual SD12 not the 1 with the orange stamp on it And I ran A 900 watt amp On it I thought the speaker was going to blow up with this much power It lasted for a whole 2 months Before it blew I was Surprised that lasted that long before the coil went out it was cheap for a Wal-Mart speaker but I liked how long it lasted

Ported will always be louder I've had both subwoofers in a ported box the punch sounded better and more accurate

The DDX is basically a sundown Sav1 rev 3...

You rate a sub by its output not its price. No way this was a fair test.

The Fosgate is a $170 subwoofer, the DDX is a $136 subwoofer. The DDX has a 85.2db Sensitivity Rating, whereas the Fosgate only has a 84db Sensitivity Rating. So, at 1 watt, from 1 meter away, the DDX is 85.2 decibels. The Fosgate, at 1 watt, from 1 meter away, produces 84 decibels. And, the DDX can handle much more power, even though it's still louder on the same amount of power as well. So, even though the DDX is $34 cheaper, it is more efficient, louder on LESS power, BUT it can still handle MORE power as well, all while being $34 cheaper.

not a good comparison. Should have used a Savard HO 10 against the skar, both in a ported box pushing their RMS wattage.

What a ridiculous comparison a P1 vs DDX. A P1 is an entry level sub at entry level power. The skar is more competition sub or an SPL SUB Rockford is more of a SQL sub.

If you're going to compare a scar 1000 watt speaker to a Rockford speaker then you need to compare it to the Power T1 10, not the punch which is a much lower rated speaker. Like I said it would blow the scar out of the water since you would be comparing two equal speakers. Not to mention the sound quality of the Rockford is 10 times that of Scar. If you're going to do an equal comparison do it right. Also the MSRP on the scar is $259.99 they are just on sale right now due to the low quality. You can learn that by supply and demand. When something is not in high demand the price drops. When something is in high demand they never have a big sale. This is where you're supposed to do your research before you try to trick Everyone by comparing two unequal speakers. Also remember it's not about how many decibels a speaker produces but it is the sound quality at those decibels that matter the most

Funny bc I've had the skar ddx 12 and 15 and they take above rated power...the owner of Sundown audio helped design the ddx series, that's why it looks so similar to the Sundown SA series

Hands down is the BEST budget speaker, or rather the one that give you the highest return for your money. I didnt hear that Sundown assisted in the design, however I DO know that when the DDX was created that SKAR was working out of the same warehouse as Sundown and that they use the same distributor for parts mor or less. Which caused a big scuffle and Skar to leave and move down to Florida.

@@jcchaco11 Thanks for the feedback, looking at going with the Skar SVR or DDX 12, the VVX would have been my first choice but I understand Skar don’t make them anymore, had a pair of RF Hx2 15’s bout 20 years ago and their sq and spl was excellent, been out of the music scene for too long, never heard a Skar sub in person but if they’re close or better than those Hx2’s, which I believe the DDX is most capable, I will be very happy but where I’m from I have to pay a lot more for Skar than you guys, Trinidad, West Indies.

it says a lot about Skar when their lowest performance sub, SDR bangs harder than a p2 for half the price.. A DDX is equivalent to a Power T1 fosgate, but the fosgate sub is approx 3-400$ more.

First off your versing a punch in a sealed box versus a punch in a sealed box. It's no comparison in sound.

Well you can't shield imported box subwoofers in a competition that's like thinking asking what tastes better fried Chicken versus gummy worms
