The SVR and DDX are the most slept on skar subs. For some reason people go from sdr to EVL. I really like the SVR for a LOUD budget setup. DDX if you want any more. But the sdr is the budget king. I've built so many systems with them. Most non bass head people think a pair of sdr 12s in the skar box is insane.

Uuuum.... Truth be told the DDX can take a huge load of power. I've had 4 DDX 12's on a Taramps MD 8k for over a year now and let me tell ya. These subs are severely underrated. My Maxima hates them.😅

This is exactly the type of review I was looking for based on sound quality particularly the double kick drums and the subwoofer’s ability to keep up with the fast beats and not sound boomy. Would appreciate if anyone can let us know the sound quality of the sundown SA 12 rev3 vs the SA 12v2 on fast beats, great review bro.

Just wanting something cheap to make some noise in my $500 Hyundai and bought 2 SDR-10d4. Built a 3.5 cube L-port box and powered 'em with a SKAR RP800.1d. Big 3, 2awg welding cable to fused distro, short run of 4awg to amp. I was floored after getting it playing. Was not expecting 2 cheap 10's ($90 each) to get that loud. I listen to all genres, but like playing metal loud and would have to (politely) disagree about double-kick bass sounding sloppy or boomy. Mines is tight bro. I'm a long-time car audio guy, going back to the old school. Many cars with many systems. I've owned Sundown Sa series, MTX, Alpine and a bunch more subs, so have a frame of reference.

I have 2 12 SVRs and 2 12 DDXs there is a difference in sound quality with the two I agree that the SVR is more balanced but the DDX does get louder I have a smart 3k taramp hooked up to the 2 DDXs I think I may have hurt one of my SVRs one of them have squeak when I push down on the sub.

Very good video. Often i see people test car subwoofers and mention nothing about sound but force them to do tripple there rms ratings...

I have a single SDR, and I really love it. Goes pretty low, and sounds so smooth. But, I wanted to try the SVR, because I wanted more power handling/ volume, and I wanted something a bit more accurate in bass response. I will cop an SVR soon.

Blew my sdr 10 while listening to tool. Funny you mentioned kick drum. Was feeding it with about 1k rms 1800 peak amp. With gain down. It did sound good for a 10. Replacing it with a ddx tomorrow. Hopefully it holds up.

Love my lows so i go to ct mesos or skar EVLS. They hit hard asf 💪 and sound clean no distortion at all on high power.

I love my ddx 10, listen to rap/hip hop and it bangs on a rp1200! They do need a big box though. My one 10 is in a 2.5 cube enclosure!

I have both the svr and the ddx in a 30hz box on a 3000 watt DB drive amp and the svr has better lows than the ddx. Ddx is louder but I like deep bass. Might just go back to the SAs

I have a SDR-10 in a 0.8 net CF sealed box on an SFB-600 and it's much, much better than I thought it would be for disco, funk and 70s rock. Especially since adding an NVX XBBR2. Going to a 12-1500 watt amp and SVR-10 in a bit bigger box soon though.
