1989.. Patrick Swayze as Dalton was impressive.The throat ripper. And he doesn't over do it. Just a 2nd throat rip that matters. Not throwing punches all day all night. Julia Lynch was gorgeous.. And ohh boy Denise Michaels.. Wasn't she full and something. They kept it simple like a small town rivalry but a bloody one. Not like all going on in the world is a road house rivalry, as if its an international event. I know I would miss all that in this version or Roadhouse.

Rest In Peace Patrick Swayze, Jeff Healey, Red West, Ben Gazzara. It’s so good that you don’t see the triumph of this testosterone.

Don't get me wrong, Jake Gyllenhaal is a tremendous talent. The problem isn't the acting. The problem is: Why remake a classic? That would be like remaking Hitchock's Psycho. (Case in point). The best this movie can do is to be almost as good as the original. But, even with all the CGI and location shooting in Dominican Republic, you can never duplicate the charm of the original. Here's an idea: And Disney, are you paying attention? Don't remake the classic. Re-release it if you want. All good wishes.

It’s different from the original tho. Not necessarily a remake or a sequel but more of an updated version to pay homage to the title. I’d understand if they made a garbage remake or sequel and messed stuff up but nothing wrong with recycling a good title 😂

Films made by streaming services don’t get a theatrical release. That’s why all the Netflix blockbusters with famous actors never get to a cinema. Same as Paramount films made for cinema and Paramount+ is only for streaming.

No it doesn't. Do you honestly think that the publicity they will need to spend to get this film to be successful at the box office is going to outweigh the returns. Not a chance. We used to have direct to dvd movies for a reason. Now we have direct to streaming for a reason.

For anyone wondering before watching. It’s okay. Not a patch on the original road house. Conor’s acting was actually surprisingly decent. But for the first time, I don’t think Jake fit this role that well. It’s an easy watch, good I would say if you haven’t seen the original road house. But if you have, I doubt you’ll watch this again.

I will watch this! I hope Jake makes the late Patrick Swayze proud!🙏🏾😎

Not gonna lie. I expected to hate this remake but it is actually pretty good.

This looks actually better than I thought. The original has a special place in my heart so I hope this new one, at the very least, is actually good and it's not just the trailer that's good.

it's just a lazy remake. Yeah, it'll have big nasty fights, but it won't have nearly the coolness that Swayze and Jeff Healy gave the original. I'll probably watch it in stages, since it will most likely bore me too much to watch in one sitting.
