TWISTERS | Official Trailer

Ойын-сауық

If you feel it, chase it.
#TwistersMovie is only in theaters July 19.
_____
This summer, the epic studio disaster movie returns with an adrenaline-pumping, seat-gripping, big-screen thrill ride that puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous-and destructive-forces.
From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters,
a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar® nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.
Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.
As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
Twisters features an exciting new cast, including Nope’s Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).
From Amblin Entertainment, Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung and is produced by Oscar® nominee Frank Marshall (Jurassic and Indiana Jones franchises) and by Patrick Crowley (Jurassic and Bourne franchises). The screenplay is by Mark L. Smith, writer of the Best Picture nominee The Revenant. Twisters will be distributed by Universal Pictures domestically and by Warner Bros. Pictures internationally.

The original movie was an inspiration for me to become a meteorologist. This past year I got to be on my first research campaign chasing tornados. And then this comes out. I feel like I’ve come full circle.

As a trained storm chaser for the National Weather Service in Texas, I'm excited to see this come back after 27 years. I have been around since the original in 1996 & have that VHS behind glass in a display case to this day. Rest in peace Bill Paxton & Philip Seymour Hoffman "Dusty." Bill Paxton would be very proud to have seen his ideas come to life. They are gone, but not forgotten. I will be seeing the sequel for myself. Oh, and I better hear Van Halen or it's not Twister!

I own a copy of Mark Mancina's Orchestral Soundtrack for Twister. It's such a slept on soundtrack. Especially Waterspouts! I hope the new soundtrack holds up. The only scene in the trailer I rolled my eyes about was hiding under the overpass. When is Hollywood going to get the memo that that is terrible advice!

@@scipocelah6677 I rolled my eyes at two scenes: hiding under the overpass & the part where they have the truck drill into the ground. Wind would get under the truck in a real life scenario and flip it no problem. There's a reason TIV2 and Dominator 3 are built a certain way. Hollywood being Hollywood 😆. I am owner of a physical copy of the entire soundtrack including "Respect the wind" by Van Halen. That final music piece deserves a moment of silence.

I'm 37, and my parents took myself and my 2 younger siblings to see the original on May 18th 1996. (8 days after its original release date. I was 9, sister was 7, and brother was 4). It was my parents anniversary, and soon after we got home from the theater, we had a tornado warning in our town in Northern IL. Nothing came of it, but I did see a tornado try to form, above my neighbors house across the street. After that day, my brother and I became obsessed with weather, our sister, more afraid tbh. Anyhow, this movie will forever have a place in my heart and is probably my all time favorite movie. With that said, I pray this one lives up to the original.

To those saying it's a "remake", it's not. Helen Hunt had a huge hand in this film, and so did Bill Paxton before he passed away. There are WAY TOO MANY references to the first film in this trailer to be a complete remake that goes off the rails. References like that red Dodge being at the forefront of the chase, Helen Hunt's Jo Hardy having a daughter (who follows in her footsteps and helps advance the Dorothy technology that is clearly seen in the trailer towards the end), and the cinematography used (which is the exact same as the first film, only with more modern tech used). The cast is different, yes. But the crew who worked on the original film still came back for this one almost 30 years later and put their hearts into it the same way the original Top Gun crew did with Maverick. This is a rarity, and this is thanks to Bill Paxton, Helen Hunt, and others who were part of something bigger than themselves in production in 1994 and when the film was realesed in 1996. So, yeah. Don't whine and cry because you don't get what you all individually want. Be grateful that we get a sequel that is in honor and memory of those who got our interests in the weather because of the heart being poured into the original film.

Helen Hunt had no involvement in this at all, and neither did Bill Paxton. Helen submitted an idea in 2020 for a sequel but it was rejected (they didn't even get a meeting) and this is an entirely new project that had no involvement from the original crew.

While I do see that there are some things that have been improved on, here are my key constructive criticism points for this trailer: 0:19 - 0:30 "Motorists should not take shelter under highway overpasses." That's a wind tunnel death trap. Even the NOAA Weather Radio Stations transmit that message, especially when a tornado is on the ground. And that goes for anyone in general, even if they're not a motorist. The winds in the overpass can reach higher than the tornado's windspeed, and if you're holding on for dear life to a pillar, you could potentially dislocate or lose a limb. For a higher chance at survival, they could have continued to drive (possibly faster) along the side of the road and either got off at the next exit - unless they were in the middle of nowhere with no nearby exit - or simply pulled over and laid down in a low-lying area and covered their heads and necks. Not only would they have a higher chance at survival, but they also would most likely still have most - if not, all - of their equipment still intact. 0:58 - 1:07 Destroying a tornado is technically scientifically impossible, but then again, this is movie magic. The only potential way you could "prevent" a tornado from forming would be if you could shoot beams of microwaves into the atmosphere, which would be from a fleet of satellites in space. But that is from an article made all the way back in July of 2003, and it talks about hurricanes more than tornadoes themselves (even though it was updated recently in 2021). And another thing: playing God is never a good idea. Here is the link to the article: www.popsci.com/scitech/article/2003-07/how-destroy-tornado/ 1:43 - 1:47 As someone who listens to the National Weather Service and takes them very seriously, the words that come to mind are, "Do not wait to see or hear the tornado. TAKE COVER NOW!" And this is regardless of if a tornado is rain-wrapped or not. The person in this shot should not be opening the front doors to the outside to see if the tornado is still there. What she should be doing, whether she is a storm chaser or not, is taking cover away from the doors and putting as many walls between her and the outside world as she can. And the best thing to do is wait for the all-clear message to be given or wait for first responders to arrive on-scene. I understand the thrill of the chase, but this is just sheer stupidity. Viewing a tornado like that is not worth your life. And realistically, she most likely would have been pulled into the tornado by the force of the winds, along with everyone else in that shot.

They use the same type of truck (it was brand new in the original, but DEFINITELY aged here. Say nearly 30 years? They also still have Dorothy, but I'm sure the censors and their capabilities are bit more advanced). In other words, it's just a new generation, doing the same thing, 28 years later, in the same universe created by the first.

This is the prophecy about the second coming of Jesus Zechariah 13:7 “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the LORD Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones. The Shepherd here is Jesus. John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. This is the fulfillment of the prophecy. Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ This happened near 30 to 33 AD. Hosea 6:1-2 Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. In prophecies 1day is equal to 1000 years. Which means after two thousand years Jesus will return again. And on the third day which is the 3rd millennium, we will live in his sight. We all know we cannot see God's face and live on Earth. So it's the second coming of Jesus. Luke 21:11 ► There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. We are the witnesses of all these things. From the death of Jesus to 2030 - 2033 there are 2000 years. Jesus is coming soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and turn to the Lord. Praise the Lord. Peace and Love to you all Easter is pagan, the resurrection day of the Lord is correct and please stop taking the Lord's name in vain like saying omg or using it with a bad word or taking it in anyway that is in vain. Even the devil trembles in his name and we shouldn't use the powerful name like that. For the people who says Jesus is not God here's a verse. Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Everlasting Father?. There's your answer The whole world will turn against Israel and not just Palestinians. Then know the end is near. God bless you all Please spread this message to the ends of the world. I'm starting a KZread channel within 1 month, which will be focused on different Bible topics, so consider subscribing.
