This is supposed to be an Alien 1.5 movie, that is halfway between Ridley's original film and Cameron's Aliens film. Written and directed by a Spanish director and Ridley is very happy with it.

The fact that they are using a lot of sets and practical effects rather than full blown over the top cgi is a big plus in my book.

The white room at the start is completely made up In blender using unreal engine 5 lol. Of course there is no cgi if the entire movie is cgi lmao.

Alvarez is such a talented director. We are being spoiled with this. I'm so stoked for his rendition of this.

He was a REALLY good choice to direct this. Dude knows how to create genuine tension and doesn’t rely on jumpscares, but goes all in with the gore too. The horror take on Alien is my preferred version over the action-centric one that started in Aliens.

As the other commenter said, it's because it is a teaser. You want to exclusively watch teasers to avoid having the plot spoiled.

Can I just say this is a perfect example of how you do a teaser trailer. For an Alien film You’re not getting a synopsis of the entire film. But it perfectly gives you the setting, and vibe. That’s a Teaser Trailer right there.

Idky fans think there will ever be an Alien movie like Alien and Aliens. They've proven they cannot recreate it. Movie after movie and it's always crap. The horror part is always done badly or is non existent. This trailer looks to have the horror vibes but it's a 1 min teaser. I can't trust it. Plus the cast is, how do I say this nicely, typical of what Hollywood is doing lately.

You clearly see the faces of characters getting killed though. And we already know what the Alien is. This film looks good and well made but also like maybe its treading a little too closely to the original, to the point where I feel like I can predict most of the plot. I hope I'm wrong, Visually it looks spot on.

This is exactly how a trailer should be. Gives you the mood and just enough to lure you into wanting to see it without spoiling the entire plot, like most trailers do.

If you mean those repeated siren-like screams, I think they're actually a reference to the trailer of the 1979 movie! You can hear the same ones throughout (and in a deleted scene from the same movie)!

Anybody else notice that alarm sound on the ship here is the EXACT SAME alarm sound as in the 1979 Alien trailer??? Fede is giving us throwback vibes here and Im so excited!!

Fede Alvarez is a great horror director. If you’ve seen his previous work you already know that he can deliver thrills and gore in all the right ways. He’s a perfect choice for an Alien film. Bring it on!!!

Loved it. This has the feeling of a pure horror movie. That isn’t to say I didn’t enjoy the more contemplative and ponderous aspects of the last two movies, flawed as they were. But sometimes you just want to go to a movie and simply see some hapless morons get wrecked. The teaser hooked me.

Its because it's a short trailer. Longer trailers have those because it takes a few seconds for videos to render into HD and that's used so that when the trailer really starts it's already rendered.

The Alien Romulus teaser is very reminiscent of the game Alien Isolation, which I still love to this day! I see they've brought back the beloved old Nostromo setting. :-) If Alien Romulus again manages to create the claustrophobic feeling of escaping in the narrow corridors, chased by the perfect organism, of the first Alien film then it could be a new Alien film worth seeing. I really hope they concentrate on the psychological horror and don't spoil it with splatter and cheap sensationalism! Warm greetings from an old HR Gyger fan

When the screaming started I got really excited. For while I do enjoy aspects of Prometheus and Covenant, this is where it's at. Just gritty terror on a space ship. I can't wait.

I love the heavier focus on facehuggers in this movie, the only part of the xenomorph lifecycle that really creeped me out, and they ain’t afraid to show it in full glorious detail this time 😂

We need more trailers like this and The First Omen when it comes to horror movies. Just a minute long, and only glimpses of the movie without giving away any jump scares or spoiling the whole movie.

Disney missed the boat by having 'Prey' just go to Hulu. Perhaps they learned better.

The last scene is definitely a nod to Ripley exciting the elevator to find Newt at the end of Aliens. Definitely love the art and production design along with how dark everything looks. I, along with everyone else, is hoping and praying this is good.

I love how they used the creepy siren sound effect again for this movie trailer, really adds to dread in the atmosphere. Looks promising, seems like they're going back to the basics.
