    The R1S is an actual offroad vehicle that can tow 7,700lbs. Where as the model Y is not an offroad vehicle and can only tow 3,500lbs. Plus, the R1S can have a payload of 1,764 lbs and the model Y doesn't state a payload capability. So they're not competing directly against each other. Maybe you mean the model X at least they're in the same price range. Again the model X is not an offroad vehicle and the R1S is. So still not a direct competitor. The closest competitor would be a Land Rover or a Ford Bronco which are ice vehicles. However, Land Rover has a Range Rover hybrid that's considerably more expensive. Regardless this is a poor argument. Anyway yes Rivian is losing money on all of its vehicles except RDV and yes they made a smart move with Amazon's contract to allow Rivian to sale the van to more companies. Therefore, Rivian can buy time to build it's factory for it's cheaper more high volume vehicle. That hopefully will be profitable.

    Agreed. Cybertruck seems like a closer competitor but not everyone likes the looks.

    Can't wait for the Fedex Van in our area to go electric. The current diesel is very loud and stinks. Of course, it is convenient being able to tell the Fedex van is here from inside the house. I keep hearing about Rivian (and other not a Tesla car companies) losing thousands of dollars on every EV they sell but is this really a loss on each incremental sale or is this just that they are spending on R&D and factories and people are dividing the loss by the number of cars sold which is not the same thing.

    Saying the Y is direct competitor of R1S is like saying Dodge Caravan is direct competitor of Range Rover or LandCruiser cause they have same number of seats and cup holders. Looking forward for an off road adventure in model y in your next video.

    I have a model Y. To me, SUV's being boxes IS an important thing. I find the limited headroom at the rear of the Y's cargo area to be highly irritating. The R1S looks like what I would have wanted, all else being equal, That said, I do like the Tesla.

    Rivian need to both sell more vans and be able to ramp up production substantially with good economies of scale turning a profit. Can Rivian set up a high volume production line and ramp it up? I am not sure. They look to be more a low volume company. One thing is for sure they need to get on with it as I don’t think Tesla will be that far behind

    The logic is a little flawed. R1S is more competitive with model x. Rivian is on track to sell more R1Ss then Tesla sells model x’s this year. Ending of exclusive agreement with Amazon is a big deal though. You are right on that part. But your Tesla fan boy side is showing a bit here on everything Tesla does is awesome. Best Tesla product is the charging network. Not necessarily the vehicles.

    You get what you pay for and Rivian, hands down, is better build quality. I hear people who criticize them for not being profitable, but forget it took Tesla 10 years to get there...and they are the EV trailblazers in the 21st century...no argument. Rivian is going a different direction with SUV/Trucks/Van, something Tesla has failed miserably at with the Cyber truck(just my opinion). It's like trying to compare Ferrari to Peterbilt. With Rivian's exclusivity agreement with Amazon gone, the Georgia facility going to build the R2S, decreasing their loss per vehicle, AND a stock price tag under $20(exactly where Tesla was when starting out)... it'd be stupid to not take Rivian seriously

    They will because the georgia plant will be capable of building 400000 units per year as the illnois plant can do 150k

    You pay $100 a month extra on your electric bill?! That's crazy. Mine is about $40 extra a month and now that I have Solar, it is free.

    The problem is way to much electrical components that if break or planned obsolescence the whole thing stops working. Or like all touch screen control panel/radio is unnecessary. Also why not incorporate axial flux motors ??

    The Rivian RDV has very poor range... And is super pricey... so for a convertion to a campervan.. nope... make no sense!

    lol R1S is a real sub and the Y is a cross over . Rivian creating a real suv separates them from all the legacy model Y copy cats . For some reason Tesla has no interest in a real suv. This is coming from a plaid X owner

    I'm kinda surprised that Tesla hasn't already made a delivery van, to be honest. Elon talks about it occasionally, so I guess they'll get around to it at some point.

    The Y is not a Rivian, you may not understand what you are talking about, but I know better, you are simply over conflicted. The rivian has how many screens? Yes more than the Y… it can pull how much…oh yea way more than a Y… but most implortant it has ability to increase clearance… plugs… I love you guys, own 3 Teslas and a R1T… you are way off on your Rivian reporting

    Rivian was too busy about gimmicky stuff on their truck and didn't think about their overhead. Now they're paying for it.

    back to your argument for electric versus gasoline, you just spent twice as much and more on your electric truck. That $100,000/plus is more than the total you will save on energy over the life of the truck. As soon as your battery bank goes bad you will spend another $100,000+ on a battery, while the gasoline truck will continue to run on traditional $250.00 batteries. Energy producers cannot meet demand if 1/4 of car owners switch. Due to a thing called supply and demand in Economics, you will see the price of the same amount of electricity double and even quadruple, depending how greedy energy companies get. Electric cars weigh three times more than combustion engine cars. Disposal is a nightmare, no good way of recycling Green Products yet, in fact, they will cause much more soil pollution.

    Yea good thing your rambling isn’t well thought out or true. If a 100,000 truck cost 100,000 to replace the battery, then the truck would cost more. The prices can’t be the same. What a disingenuous liar
