A very good example of "old data" is in the Google search for my old company. I retired in 2010 and the store closed its doors in 2015. But the search shows the former location, before they downsized and moved to a new location before closing. And a complaint by an apartment dweller next door to the store who had his car towed after hours because he parked in our lot, is still up. I guess it's true, the internet doesn't forget.

Great idea for the distributed inference compute. But if I have paid for the power in the battery and X is using that power for Grok compute while the car is not in use in those 2/3 of hours, then doesn't X owe me some form of remuneration no matter how small? I mean the electricity is not free right.

Google even fails when you enter exactly what you want and Google displays ints advertising subscribes products first which should not be the first items . What a dishonest fail of a search engine

No wonder I feel so suppressed when I spent time in X and trying to explore Brock. I cannot imagine Grock's data base is X. That is so limited. X cannot cover the information that google search covers. Not even the information that youtube covers (I'm not sure if AI can search youtube contents).

I would be cautious in interpreting these tweets. What Elon happily hypes here is problematic: - running LLM queries in the car while driving: yes - using customers' Teslas as a distributed platform to run LLMs for third party usage: completely bogus idea for many reasons including battery drain, latency, uncompetitive model performance due to compute and memory constraints. Then on the topic of leveraging Twitter data for LLM training: if you really want to build a neurotic assistant that's really good at arguing - sure.. Interesting discussion nonetheless, but it's wise to take a step back and triple check instead of taking Xai claims at face value.

-★ I believe we are meant to be like Jesus in our hearts and not in our flesh. But be careful of AI, for it is just our flesh and that is it. It knows only things of the flesh (our fleshly desires) and cannot comprehend things of the spirit such as peace of heart (which comes from obeying God's Word). Whereas we are a spirit and we have a soul but live in the body (in the flesh). When you go to bed it is your flesh that sleeps but your spirit never sleeps (otherwise you have died physically) that is why you have dreams. More so, true love that endures and last is a thing of the heart (when I say 'heart', I mean 'spirit'). But fake love, pretentious love, love with expectations, love for classic reasons, love for material reasons and love for selfish reasons that is a thing of our flesh. In the beginning God said let us make man in our own image, according to our likeness. Take note, God is Spirit and God is Love. As Love He is the source of it. We also know that God is Omnipotent, for He creates out of nothing and He has no beginning and has no end. That means, our love is but a shadow of God's Love. True love looks around to see who is in need of your help, your smile, your possessions, your money, your strength, your quality time. Love forgives and forgets. Love wants for others what it wants for itself. Take note, love works in conjunction with other spiritual forces such as faith and patience. We should let the Word of God be the standard of our lives not AI. If not, God will let us face AI on our own and it will cast the truth down to the ground, it will be the cause of so much destruction like never seen before, it will deceive many and take many captive in order to enslave them into worshipping it and abiding in lawlessness. We can only destroy ourselves but with God all things are possible. God knows us better because He is our Creater and He knows our beginning and our end. Our prove text is taken from the book of John 5:31-44, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, Daniel 7-9, Revelation 13-15, Matthew 24-25 and Luke 21. Let us watch and pray... God bless you as you share this message to others.

I really don't get it. Grog learns from X, that means we get mostly right leanings information who want that? Also who ever tweeted about the little ice cream shop around the corner, so how should grog know from it. And than the 'humor' thing: what is the use case for that, other some fun for 15 year old boys? Up to know there is really no improvement over GPT. Did you even noticed it's last iteration? It has so much more actual use cases and let grog be viewed as a bad joke. So really: can tell me anyone the actual use case for grog other than giving me a fast and comprehensible overview about the right wing propaganda in the USA?

Pedantic nitpick? Fwiw, the 1961 book it came from, embraced by the counterculture of the late 60s, pronounce Grok to rhyme with Clock. It's been the accepted pronunciation for decades. However, I could see him doing that to mix it up or perhaps to avoid legal issues if it could be trademarked. etc.

@@spleck615 Yeah, I get it, that was the general idea of the comment - it wasn't disagreeing with the accuracy of your post. It just seemed to be the appropriate place to post my idea about Musk's statement. As for the unrelated drink thing, I remembered something about that and that it was expanded by the author into a "drink it all in" to deeply understand thing. (Which, perhaps coincidentally, sounds like Grog and literally is, I believe, purely meant to be a drink).

Seems rather starry eyed and naive to me. a) You need the car owner's permission before using their car for this. Most people will not agree. b) Distributed compute like this can be very inefficient, and it's especially NOT suited to near real time computations like this. c) Twitter is super unreliable in terms of the info on there... hardly a good data source. c) Have you seen Grok's answers? They are super annoying. I don't think it will last that long, not if they persist with that approach anyway. Also, you make it sound like Musk is coming up with these ideas and he is in a good financial position at X. Neither are true.

  • @robrobinette
