@@emilyrayna I just found you a few days ago (I'm a YT person, not really into other socials) and have been binging your longer format videos. That said, I'm not sure how far along you are in the kitchen renovation at the present moment. My suggestion for range ventilation that I think would be perfect for your application would be a pop-up vent. Hidden when not in use so doesn't detract from the aesthetic yet, it allows for a fully functional vented range installation. Hope this helps 😊

For the extra large art piece, use smaller canvases and mount them all together on the wall. It’s a good way to get around the large canvas prices. Also, it can be a fun way to create a new piece of art by rearranging the pieces in such a way that they flow together. Might be too much work, but could be fun to create and also make art functional in other ways.

Kräus is pronounced more like “croiss”! 😊 I totally get the financial bc guilt but you’d always regret if you didn’t go all out and make your space perfect while you have the opportunity! Especially something as important as a home ❤ super excited to see the rest of your room designs! The plywood with the light brick really opens up the space! love it!!

It looks great! For your large art piece, you could paint it directly on your wall then frame it with window/door trim. 😊 And if you put a vent over the stove, you could hide it with a pots/pans rack and hang those beautiful yellow ones you got. Don't have guilt for doing well. You deserve it! You've worked hard to get where you are today. Don't pay attention to the trolls. Give your attention to the nice people, it annoys the trolls! 🤣

Your vision for the kitchen is absolutely fabulous. I know exactly where you're coming from girl. Don't feel guilty. I know it's easy to say. You have worked so hard for what you have. You've helped others so much along the way. You have nothing to feel guilty about. This is your first home. Possibly your forever home. You want it right the first time and there's nothing wrong with that. And if you have you have to spend a bit to get your dream, it's a good investment. Think of good you'll feel walking into that kitchen every day. You've earned this girl. You deserve it. You both do. And all your guests deserve the happy you in your dream kitchen. Stunning! For entertaining, if you can fit a double oven, I highly recommend it. Though the microwave might function as one, is it big enough for a second turkey, a ham, or multiple side dishes? My family swears by double ovens for hosting.

Emily you are so unbelievably talented. This is your house and your budget. You do you. There will always be more projects to do that are budget friendly but for your space and somewhere your life is taking place Go for it!!

I really like the kitchen design. I these kind of long galley kitchen designs. It feels more open to me.

The kitchen concept is so cool! Kitchen designer over here - keep in mind you’ll have to have one (maybe 2) seams in the island countertop if it’s quartz due to max slab sizes, some building codes require an outlet for every 5 feet on an island, and you’ll absolutely need ventilation of some form for your cooktop. Downdrafts aren’t super efficient but they’re discreet, or a cylinder mounted to the ceiling could look cool! Fabre has one called Cylindra Isola. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

We have that same kraus faucet in two of our three units in our three flat. We absolutely love it. That kitchen is going to be stunning - totally know what you mean about the mental aspect of having and spending money after growing up modestly. You’re doing great, you should be proud of everything you’ve achieved 💕

I’m obsessed with that kitchen! If it’s not too late I had a thought that it would be cool to have a third tap with boiling hot water available that way you can streamline cooking just a little bit. That’s what I want I my dream kitchen.

Genius design! Sleek, warm and functional! Love the huge kitchen, long island/table. What a dream to have all that seating. Great job on garage paint too!

I like the lightness of the cabinets and the wood. It’s nice having everything built in. The problem with the dark counter tops is they show every crumb and spill. Very frustrating to keep clean. Nice to have the type of counters that you don’t have to worry about putting hot items on. Esp if you are having kids around and guests. Have you thought about what small appliances you are going to have and where they are going? Are you putting in electric sockets in the tops so you won’t have cords visible? Or phone/ laptop chargers? Maybe a coffee station? Great to have a wine fridge! You should absolutely do your house exactly the way you want the first time however you can afford it. It’s no one’s business but your own. Go for it!There was nothing worse than being with someone who constantly asked how much everything cost and made you feel guilty. It takes all the joy out of life. Enjoy!

I used painters canvas and leftover wood to make HUGE DIY art canvases! Painters drop cloth has brilliant texture (and the natural color is fantastic) and takes paint super well! I also used it with drywall compound, spray paint, concrete, you name it, it stuck and has stayed perfect for 6+ months.

In terms of industrial looks, I’m surprised you didn’t want some type of exposed shelving or hanging fixture for the pots and pans. Especially those yellow ones you received. I think the concept is wonderful regardless. Also for the sink…glass rinser on the other corner?? I know that’s a trend right now, but if you’re planning on entertaining it could be a life saver?

The kitchen is such an odd shape and i love what you plan to do with it! So innovative, inviting and pleasing on the eye if that even make sense lol. Its beautiful!! Love the 3D module, great job!

For the large art piece, I have seen some diy options where you make a frame and then stretch a fabric drop cloth over your frame. I think you just have to make sure it's stretched pretty tight and then use gesso to prime it.

I love this design!! Absolutely gorgeous. I especially love the long table/counter up the center. Echoing another comment - one of the big game changers in my family, especially for hosting holidays, is having two ovens. (A lot of this depends on what you tend to cook, but if it includes doing something big like a turkey, plus a lot of side dishes, it can be an issue figuring out how to stagger the cooking and keep things warm. Bonus challenge if things need to cook at different temperatures!)

This looks gorgeous! I love the layout, the material choices, and all the seating options. I have one practical suggestion - add a little prep sink. In a kitchen this size and especially since you plan to host and may have multiple cooks/prep zones it's a game changer. It'll prevent a traffic jam at the big sink, makes washing produce, preparing drinks, or letting people wash their hands convenient while keeping them out of the main work zone. I don't know how you plan to use the different zones but maybe you could fit it in the counter in front of the window and make that a coffee/beverage area? I added a prep sink (10" x 14") into a little counter (16" deep x 60" long) next to my fridge and it has been so handy.

The kitchen looks stunning, I love brick as well. I also totally relate to your idea of the epitome of luxury. My family got a new fridge last year and we thought we were super fancy just because it had a water dispenser on it haha. It’s easier said than done but try not feel guilty about buying things you’ve been lucky enough to earn with your own money through your own work. It’s your house, your life, your taste and you’re totally allowed to have it!

Your future kitchen looks fantastic; I truly admire your design aesthetic. Best wishes on everything! I can relate to your feelings; doing economically better than my parents primarily due to their sacrifices makes me feel guilty at times. But then I remember that they'd want me to be happy and to pay it forward. Question: have you considered posting an Amazon wishlist for minor items? As a big fan, I'd love to be able to contribute to your renovations, especially considering all of the unexpected costs you're encountering.

Love the design! I saw someone mention using a bedsheet for the big art piece but I’ve also seen people who have framed a shower curtain as well. I think you can get custom shower curtains printed and go from there! Excited to see your future updates!

First - LOVE the kitchen design! Secondly - re financial guilt - I feel ya. I'm 66 and have had weird emotional feelings about money my whole life, completely self-induced. We have saved well for retirement and though I'm still working in my own business, it's been a real process to feel good about accomplishments & retiring comfortably. I guess all humans are life-long works in progress. (I'm so proud of YOU!)
