Loving this renovation series so far! I hate to be that person but being an ophthalmologist, I unfortunately see how even the tiniest of splinters has caused irreversible damage to the eye in so many of my patients. Dillon should consider wearing protective goggles while aggressively knocking down wood :) Looking forward to watching more amazing content💙

I completely understand about the sofa and cabinets. When we bought our house, it was just really hard after that huge expenditure to have more expensive things come along! One bill after another!

Looking good! I’d suggest having the drawers on each side of the sitting area. Easier to slide open when sitting down. Also wouldn’t recommend drawers to be up against the wall incase they warp and end up scraping when you open them!

I know you’ve mentioned putting new flooring over the brick living room, but have you considered an epoxy/seal coat over it to level it out/make it easier to clean? Could be a cool way to keep the awesome brick look but make it more livable, might be more trouble than it’s worth tho

I’m so enjoying watching you renovate your new home. The beams are going to look amazing. I’m sure it’s taking forever to get that thick,dark paint off but the wood underneath is just gorgeous. I just can’t wait to see it completed.I also can completely relate to you struggling to buy stuff and agonizing over whether to do it or not. I do that all the time. Stuff I pick out sits in carts forever while I convince myself to spend the money. Then the stores send me several emails reminding me I have things in my cart that I haven’t completed the purchase of. I honestly thought I was the only one like this but nice to know now that I’m not.Hope the permits you’re waiting on come through soon. Waiting for them often takes longer than the work itself. We’ve just managed to pay off the mortgage, so we’re currently saving up to renovate ourselves. My kitchen is ridiculously small and dark - it sits in the middle of the house and therefore has no windows. I’m planning on moving it to the front of the house where the living room is now, since we’ve also got a family room, a den and will be putting in a four seasons sun room, plus have a “bonus space.” There are only two of us - how many rooms do we need for watching TV and chilling? 😹😹 Because we’re seeing more of Dylan and he’s taking a more active role in the videos (gorgeous blue eyes, by the way!) I’m noticing that he’s very much like my husband in the way that he does things and in that he can pretty much accomplish any renovations or repairs that he sets his mind to - not that you can’t! You just don’t remind me of my husband at all! 🙀😉🤷🏼‍♀️😹🤣 I started laughing so hard when Dylan spontaneously decided to take the stairs out, that the cats all started looking at me like I’d lost my mind! Hubs also wanted to know what was so funny - he says it’s nice to see Dylan knows how to do things properly!! 😹😹 Our home was built by the original owners and we purchased it from their kids after they passed on, so we frequently run into problems similar to yours. I’m not sure if there’s a plumb wall or a right angle anywhere in the house! 😹🤪

So surprised u didn't pick the yellowish color for the couch 🤣😅 but you I had a bright yellow couch and I sprayed it stain resistant waterproof spray, worked pretty good , idk if it would stand up to cool~aid but..😊😁

I’m currently looking at cabinets.com! I have a very specific style I want and I was considering IKEA but I really want something more long-lasting and they’re the most inexpensive I could find that is. I got a sample from cabinets.com and LOVE it, haven’t pressed buy yet though hahaha

I think a belt sander might be quicker for you?

Renovations on your own house can be hard on a relationship. Buying a house and moving are one of the most stressful things you can do - I guess you figured that out. It’s much different than working on someone else’s home. I’ve been there.
