Wow!!! I haven't seen this kind of uniqueness in a house in a very long time. The possibilities are ENDLESS and I imagine your brain is working this house awake and in dreams. This looks incredibly fun!

Makes me scared already with things not being up to code...nervous and I just found your channel from a short about your ideas for your house. I'm afraid of what kind of issues you're gonna run into... I bought a unique old house when my husband died instead of just buying or building new construction! I could have gotten close to what I wanted and not ended up buying the house and then paying about the same amount to do the renovations...many of which ended up not even being possible. Always consult a builder/contractor and inspector and electrician and I mean the works when buying an older house like this!! I'm excited to see what you do with the place as well as what road blocks you come to and end up using your imagination even further bc you have to rethink your strategy! I ended up with a money pit, and wasted almost all of my inheritance from what I got from his death. I was trying to give my kids who were still pretty young a cool fun house...but in the end I ended up spending all that money and then also losing out in the 2008 market when we decided to move to be closer to family and needed to sell. I didn't even have a mortgage bc I had paid cash. But even after selling the house I couldn't recoup what I spent on it even if it hadn't been 2008. So I ended up with a mortgage once we moved, and into a smaller, much more boring home in a traditional neighborhood. Kids were ok though bc they had cousins in town and friends galore in the neighborhood. It was just always my dream to find an old unique home like this and do whatever I wanted like you! And I was too afraid to start the building process from scratch and paying rent in the meantime. In hindsight...that would have been cheaper and I would have been able to do exactly what I wanted. And I hate neighborhoods! Ha! But..in the end it was for the kids. I just wanted to be on my own small plot of land not too close but not too far apart. But definitely not where we ended up. AND definitely NOT the headache and money pit I ended up dealing with. I truly truly hope the owners who got a helluva deal on it in the end appreciate all the hard work and money that went into it. I could see the lady's face as soon as they came to view the home bc I was still packing at the time. She tried to hide her excitement but it was all over her face! Yeah lady. ..you're getting a steal...at my expense so enjoy!!! I sure hope your process is much less of a headache and a lot more enjoyable. Keeping my fingers crossed for you as I continue to watch the rest of the videos on it now.🤞❤
Don’t forget to take credit for yourself on making this happen. You are amazingly talented and it’s why you have a fan base watching your style grow and passion be poured into very project. Congrats on such a big milestone! Enjoy every part of this from the happy tears to the frustrated cries of homeownership.
I'm so f*cking stoked for this series! I got a little motion sick half way through from the camera movement but I get a strong sense of how quirky the place is. The house found the perfect owner to make the best of what makes* this place so unique.

I agree! Perfect owner for this project!
Wow! Such a cool, unique house! It’s almost like the universe is saying, “Emily is just killing it on everything she tackles. Let’s give her a really complex puzzle to work on for a while.” 😂 I love how quirky everything is. Nooks and crannies within nooks and crannies. Fun! Thoughts: 1. Our stairs also have no risers. But they meet code because the treads themselves are fully 3” thick. Pip could still fall through the 5” clearance/gap I suppose, but it’d be much less likely than with the treads you have now. Anyway, maybe you can adapt this idea for your needs. 2. Those airflow vents are super interesting! I do wonder about privacy in terms of sound, though. If Dylan’s watching TV while you’re filming, won’t that interfere? 3. The slanty-ceiling skylight/window shower idea is amazing! WOW!!! Very cool ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Enjoy! And again, congratulations 💐💐

Definitely the universe giving her a puzzle!! Love itt
You totally deserve this and to take credit for getting to this point! We're just along for the ride and happy to see you designing and thriving in your unique way--that's what makes your videos so great 😄 Congratulations!
So happy for you! This is going to be so fun to watch the transformation!
I absolutely love your home. Would you consider putting stairs where the planter is? Remove the sliding glass door so you and your guests can be able to walk from the kitchen to your sunken living room. Otherwise all your plans sounds wonderful! I can’t wait for the videos!!!
I also am in the housing market in New England and it’s absolutely insane. SO happy for you! My boyfriend and I love your content and cannot wait to see what you do with this amazing space :)
Amazing! Congratulations! There is so much I can see you doing with this. So many possibilities! I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Congrats!! Love all the little quirks of this house, I know you'll have a blast making it yours. Can't wait to see the transformations!
I love the 70s vibe! I actually really like the brick floor.
Love the wood fire places, but also understand the safety concerns. Congratulations! This is so exciting. Can’t wait to see what you guys do with this space.
I love how polite but honest you are. You're not straight ragging on the previous designers or owners. The tiger curtain was "a moment". So good. I don't even know you but I'm now a massive fricken fan. I love your story and how you've grown so so much. Inspiring and absolutely adore this homes bone's for sure!
ahhh how exciting! there are so many amazing possibilities and so much potential in this space. so excited to be along for the journey and watch your process 🤎

I cannot wait to see what you do with this house! That kitchen is everything. The possibilities…. I am a little weirded out by the sliding glass doors for the bedrooms. 😜
Love the house! I know you and Dillon will make it even more amazing. I love the kitchen and the space upstairs outside the bedrooms. I’m sure Pip is so excited to run around and explore.
This is so exciting! What a special house. I really love the wood stoves and think you should keep them!!
Congrats!!! I grew up on the VT/NH border and this house really gives off NH vibes... like I feel like I knew who lived here. But it’s really awesome and I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Pip’s little hops on the stairs 🥺 I am so excited for you!! This will definitely be a whole new experience and I can’t wait to see what you do! I’m super curious about the vents and airflow. I can see the benefit of it, but there is zero soundproofing
Kitchen is my favorite. I’m so excited to see see the Renovation of it.
Congratulations on your new home!!
Maybe relocate one of the wood stoves into the screened porch?

This is actually a brilliant idea! I may just do that, haven’t even thought of that space yet!
What a wild place! I kept trying to imagine the After images as you toured this place. I know they will be even cooler than I pictured in my head
People who do ice fishing might be interested in those fire places! Great for in little shacks and such 🥰 excited to watch this journey! My favourite kind of videos for sure!!

Definitely an Emily house! I’m so happy to see such a one of kind house. Congratulations!
I CANNOT wait to see how you transform this place. It’s got so much charm and my brain can’t even conceptualize what it will look like when you work your magic on it. So excited!!
Congratulations! It has cool features already, and I know you'll make it even more amazing.
Can wait to see what you gonna do with this house !
Very unique house! They are the best kind❤❤❤ Congratulations!
Congrats you two. It's a very nice, quirky and different house. A perfect venue for your talents. My daughter bought a house at only 21 and years later when she moved out of state she rented it out with a listing agent and it was a source of income for ten years. When she finally sold it there was no longer a mortgage and she got a pile of cash. Home ownership is a great way to build wealth, especially if you are handy like you two are.
You can winterize your porch by putting window plastic thick, heavy window, plastic sheets over your windows, and stapling or ceiling with tape or some kind of adhesive. It’s cheaper to do and it allows you to have your full window open in the summer for the breeze, and if you hang winter curtains on top of that screen that is going to be covered with plastic, it gets even warmer.
Very unique home and perfect for someone with your creative talents. Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I agree on getting rid of the wood stoves. They’re a lot of work and dirty. Love the size of the kitchen
That cieling is gorgeous and I love the brick 😍
Can’t wait to get ideas for my house!!!
I love it!
So excited to see the progress in this house! So happy for you!!! Maybe for under the stairs, instead of filling the space you can have something underneath to catch Pips if she falls? Maybe some cool hanging hammock-y nets?
I can’t wait to see your vision come to life!
Super unique just like you! Very seventies, in the best way imo. Excited to see
I would make the room at the top of the stairs the office space and make the blue camo room a spacious washroom/craft/paint room. And leave the utility room just for the machinery. And if it’s not to expense, move the electrical panel to that space. All of the woodwork is amazing. I agree with striping the beams. I would definitely take out the sliding glass doors in the interior of the home those are just nuts. If you plan to have kids those would be a huge problem/danger! Murphy beds for guests is a great idea. Best of luck with all of the changes. I would start with a structural engineer to see what is load bearing. I have a feeling he did a lot of the work on his own, so things are not up to 2024 code, like the hardwood floor and the railing.
I love the house!! I think the first room was my favorite and definitely not the second one, just imagining the door being so close to the step has me stressed. But I’m so happy for you and I know you will make the house your own and make it even more beautiful 🤩
I am in love with this house!!! I'd keep the brick floor, and seal it with apoxy so it's level but can see that beautiful brick
Congratulations!
I love the brick floor, it's so cool and unique! Probably super cold in the winter though!
I see you bought in the Winter (snow outside) which is what we did on our last house, in about 3 feet of snow. Zero disclosure or info given to us. We found the well was frozen & 2 pipes had been broken for a very long time which we didn't find out until Spring when we wanted to water outside & the kitchen flooded. We spent a lot of time cleaning & painting! FYI, you can NOT melt snow for carpet cleaners. lol When we moved we left the young couple notes on everything inside & out since we also lived in the woods on a river. I'll be looking forward to all your renovation vids!
Such an incredible house! I’d keep the basement stove and turn it into a Malm! Gorgeous
You’re not alone in your first offer falling through! It’s pretty common. But you did it girl!!! Congrats ♥️♥️♥️
I love the attic in the garage!!! Omg! But i would put some windows in there for natural light!!
Ooooh so excited for you guys ! Congrats ! I can totally imagine you during the tour like Cher in Clueless “oooh project” !!! 🤣 Cant wait to see what you do with such an original house 😍 I wish you a lot of sponsors🤞💰🛠
I would definitely think about making the landing at the top of the stairs a library area. It could be so cute and cozy!
