REMOVING SEMI-PERMANENT HAIR DYE FROM A HUMAN HAIR WIG (BAKING SODA METHOD)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hola, in this video I remove semi-permanent hair dye from ‪@JaymesMansfield‬'s $50 amazon human hair wig. I made this as a reference video for the future videos I will be making. Also, I used Xmondo Color's super gloss at the end to bring back some life to the hair. Hope this is helpful to you and see you on the next video.

Anyone else noticed that the more successful Jaymes and Ernie become, the more kitchen appliances appear in the background?? Love it!!

Note about Shimmer lights, from the 40 + years I've been a hairdresser... MOST of the hairdressers I've spoken too about this is that Shimmer Lights can make the hair very dry so be careful with that shampoo. My suggestion would be just use the purple conditioner and use a SULFATE free shampoo to clean the hair. Sulfates are also drying to the hair, esp color/permed/straightened hair. Sulfate free shampoo's get their sudsing action from coconut and that's not only a really good lather but retains moisture balance in the hair.

Something I learned recently about semi-permanent dye on human hair.. If the color turned out too bright/saturated and you want it more pastel you can apply processor on it (20 or 30 vol) to fade out the color. No bleach, no dye just the processor. Leave it in for 30-45 min. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but I just learned about it. Works great for doing ombres, too

Hola Ernie!! Wow! Thank you for teaching me something new today. I never knew that about dandruff shampoo. But the resilience of this wig is awesome! Her sass has perked up and she is ready to mingle!😄😄 Can't wait to see what you do next. Have fun in Palm Springs!!

Just a tip about human hair and pH balancing (from a hairstylist): pH goes from 0 to 14 , 0 would be a battery, 7 would be water and 14 would be caustic soda (lye, sodium hydroxide). Human hair has a pH of 4.5 (between 4 and 5, actually), what this means is if the pH is higher than 5 the hair cuticles and going to "open" and it'll feel very dry. Baking soda has a pH of 9 (alkaline or basic). So using baking soda (or hair bleach which goes to about 11) will severely open the cuticles and leave the hair super dry and damaged. To fix that you should use a very acidic (low pH) solution. There's a lot of acidifying masks for that, but for a cheap and very good option you can use white vinegar (pH 3). Just pour vinegar on the wig after removing the baking soda, leave it for a few minutes (like 3 to 5), rinse it and then use a reconstructing mask (to give back lost nutrients) and then a hydrating mask to make it softer. Hope that helps and good job on the wig

Adding conditioner to semi-perm color makes it lighter and adds condition (especially if the color doesn’t already have conditioner in it). I love Brad Mondo’s products. I have super dry hair from thyroid issues that’s also curly. His electric rain leave in condition and viper smoothing oil are bomb! Now I’m going to have to try that gloss.

@@ErnieReyyTV I’ll be honest, I was hesitant to try a “KZreadr” product but because of how involved he is and clearly didn’t just slap his name in it, I gave it a shot. The viper oil is by far my favorite! And the pricing is surprisingly good for the quality. A little goes a long way. Like his dyes, for example, are cheaper and contain more than overtone, and overtone is one of the best color stains/depositing conditioners.
