I tried baking soda mixed with peroxide to lighten my hair...well, it worked. It did lighten my hair. However, that hair didn't stay attached to my head. When I took a shower to rinse it out, I felt a sliding sensation and a plop on my foot. It was all of my below shoulder length hair. When I jumped out of the shower, the front hair was an inch and a half, and the back was 4 to 5 inches. Suuuuper wispy mullet from hell. Turns out the hair broke off where I had applied sun-in a few months earlier (not even a lot). It was so bad that I couldn't stop laughing. Horrible hair style to grow back out. The worst!!

Years ago my hair was a mint green colour and I tried all the tricks to get it out without bleaching. I did the vitamin C, dish soap, head and shoulders, etc. Funnily enough, the only thing that worked was pink shampoo. I had spent a month messing about trying to get the green out and I washed once with pink shampoo and my hair went silver. Bleach and colour wheel, people. Forget putting food items on your head.

I put an off brand of anti-dandruff shampoo on my hair, and left it on my hair for 30 minutes. I was trying to get the toner out of my hair. My hair turned green. I tried Vitamin C and shampoo, plus several other shampoos. Nothing was working. I didn't have any bleach. I finally put Head and Shoulders on my hair, and left it on for over an hour. I was busy wetting and scrubbing it the whole time. I rinsed it with hot water a long time. It seemed to still be soapy. I applied Aussie conditioner, and let that sit for about 10 minutes. Then I rinsed it with hot water again for a very long time. Finally I could see that the green was coming out. I washed it again a few days later with Head and Shoulders, but I only left it on for about 10 minutes. Most of the green is gone, and my hair lightened up a little bit also. I have some pink shampoo, I will try that next time I wash my hair.

Baking Soda is Sodium Bicarbonate ( pH 8.5 - Weak Alkali ) which decomposes into Carbon Dioxide Gas and Sodium Carbonate when added to an acidic Peroxide which raises the alkalinity to pH 11.5 ( Strong Alkali ) final pH of mixture is around 9 to 10. No conditioners, buffers, accelerators means poor results.

that's the kind of stylist that has a few happy coincidences review them but leave a wake of traumatized and ashamed people. I had my hair ruined a few to many times by people like that. once I finally got over my trauma and went for the first time in years and it went great, the next time I went to the same salon but had a different hairdresser, one like this lady, and they ruined my hair again. now I just cut my hair by myself or a family member, the odds of ruining it are so much less and if it happens at least it doesn't cost me my money 😊 however the last time I've been to a hairdresser is at least 15 years ago and only once did I mess up my hair. 'professionals' like her ruin the business for the good hairdressers.

Used the light brown box dye and the porous super blonde hair from ears down, turned BLUE! I mixed a small amount of baking soda with reg, non purple shampoo, scrubbed only the hair that was blue then immediately rinsed and deep conditioned. The blue came out! Of course my hair is not right yet but the blue is gone. I’m doing nothing for a while. It’s a little golden on the top but ashy blonde on the previously blue. I learned by lesson.

The only time I have ever put baking soda on my hair, I did it on dry hair that was extremely greasy from working in fast food..then after letting it sit for a while I'd just shampoo it out. It got rid of the grease so easily and the smell too.

I am so addicted to your videos! I am blond, but I DEFINITELY leave it to a professional (shout out to my wonderful stylist, Patsy) to keep it beautiful and done correctly. I cringe whenever I hear people say, "I'm going to bleach my hair myself..." NOOOooooo😱!!! On another note, I am a natural brunette with natural blonde eyebrows, so no, I wouldn't have EVER bleached them to match my hair...I actually keep my eyes closed until my stylist gets all the bleach and foils in. People, be careful out there, like Hair Buddha says, "It's not 'just hair'"!!!

40 Vol developer alone will lighten hair mixing it with baking soda is a risk. Second girl said didn't make a difference but has hot roots lol your not supposed to apply regrowth only where the dye is, but after using bleach the color is gorgeous. Buddha's bleach hair vids always make my day

I have had 5 hair fails in my life: 1st Trusted a friend to help me highlight my hair. In the back they made a design. 🙄 2nd Screwed up a cap highlight kit. Ended up as a strawberry blonde. I pulled too much out and got bleach under the cap. 3rd Coloured my hair red, the product in the package was not the colour it said. I had used it before and kept the box flap. It came out a much redder colour then the time before. It looked like it had been coloured with a red crayon. 😂 4th A family member wanted to go into hair dressing and I let them cut my hair. They gave me 3 bald spots in the back. 🤣 5th I had a hair dresser tell me I could pull off platinum. (Remember #2?) My kiddo always wanted to do my hair, colour, bleach, whatever. Yes, I let them and it came out a horrendous strawberry blonde colour. At least #2 was a pretty shade that actually looked good on me. Would I do it again? No, only because my hair is now almost to my waist as opposed to shoulder length.

I went to the hairdresser to get my hair dyed. After a long conversation we decided on two colours mixed together with very similar tones. The woman then went to mix both colours and passed them on to a colleague to apply to my hair, because she had finished for the day. The guy who took over was chatting to many people in the salon while applying one colour first and then the second colour on top. When I looked up and asked if he had mixed both colours together- he looked and said No I put one colour on top and the other colour at the bottom! I said No! -Because they were similar tones we got away with it, I also have very curly hair- But I will not return there, and I was not happy as he offered no advice on what he could do to make it look better. I am currently trying to wait until I can get a better colour put in again.😢😢😢

Nooooooooooo - not dish soap! That's the worst thing you can do! When people are going to get dreadlocks they advise washing with dish soap before to get the hair really dry and get the grease out! Who woke up one day and thought: well, this must be a good idea?

I am regretting not posting my own bleach wash process with a baking soda mix. I went from red-brown permanent dye to a light silver purple using BS, Head and Shoulders shampoo, and 30 developer. I had to do the bleach wash twice and toned down with T14 before adding Mondo purple. It actually turned out great.

Back in 2016 I tried all of these concoctions to try and get my semi permanent color out. I remember thinking "baking soda is in toothpaste for whitening it should help whiten my hair". I don't know what my rationale for using vitamin C was though lol I learned my lesson right quick and know better now 😅

They could get BETTER, more conditioned results by using a good conditioning masque and heat which will pull the color out.
