I could be wrong but I think hes meaning do you tan easily or do you just burn....when in the sun..because pale isn't always pale. I'm pale most of the time but if I go out in the sun even for a bit I'm tan the next day...some people of equal paleness could go out and just be burnt the next day...and people who have skin that "tans easily" is usually olive toned

That explains why I can't find any concealers😭 but I think skin tone has only a small part of affecting what hair looks good on you. I'm half Asian and I defo would look strange w blonde hair.

I've always been confused about my skin tone, but this video helped alot..more than the last one! I think I'm Neutral-Cool. My veins are purple and teal. I wear silver and rose gold jewelry. I have a slight pink undertone but do tan pretty easily in the summer. Thanks Brad! ❤️

I'm about to dye my hair green tomorrow. I've never dyed it, never used bleach (I'm getting it done professionally!!) and it's totally an afterthought as to if it'll suit me. I always thought I had warm skin but according to your list I have cool! I've only ever dyed my hair red and was told it looks really good. Interesting!! Either way, I'm doing what I feel like. This is a mini master class. Brad is so talented and you can see understands colors so well. I'm really amazed. I didn't really thought I would watch it all the way through. But he made the entire video so engaging. The actual point of video came towards to end but I wasn't bored at all.

I have pale olive skin with pink undertones. Kind of a mess! Very difficult to decide what works best but I think I tend to do a little better with cool tones but not too dark or too light.

xSniper x Galx hey it happens. depression’s a bitch but you can be a bitch right back to it if you so please. it might not be the same for you, but for me i sometimes feel better about myself if i take a nice shower and put on some actual clothes and maybe even force myself to leave the house if my social anxiety isn’t a wreck. if you wear makeup, go all out, get caked up and maybe take a couple selfies if you’re feeling yourself. show depression who’s boss. also if you have prescription meds, take them. that can help.

Whether you have dark skin or not you should still be able to tell your undertones, if you can't see your veins then go out into natural light (not too dim not too bright, just natural) and see if you can have someone tell. Or just look at your arms closely. If you still can't tell if your skin has a warm or cool bias, it is likely neutral. Based off your profile, unless the lighting is yellow it seems like yours is warm toned.

@@clare5688 Regardless of warm or cool tones pretty much ALL Black people across ALL our skin tones get darker or lighter depending on season and sun exposure, so the "tan easily" thing doesn't help at all. That's the point she was making. Melanin helps you tan easier and we have a lot of it so ability to tan without burning is irrelevant to us for figuring out warm or cool tones.

2 yrs later and this comes across my interest AFTER buying a blue wig that I just got yesterday, chopped my natural blue-shined jet black hair to short 2 days earlier, I came to the decision from this video that I'm neutral cool. I've always worn silver jewelry a lot over the - well since who knows how long-, rather than golds. And well what do you know: I've always drawn myself to pastel blues, pinks, and purples my whole entire life! 😅 and I'm also wearing a dark purple/red violet eyeglass, where my previous one was a solid purple....and no wonder I never liked the bright, loud yellows. 😅 I've always liked neutral and dark palettes to anything, too. Thank you for your video, I have always wanted to color my hair and never knew where to start...your video gives me a starting point. As an avid gamer I see and love some what some people consider freaky colors and I LOVE them. I am naturally a red head and most of it has gone grey or fallen out now, I may never color what I have left but i love your vibe. Keep being awesome.

Literally. I was like I'm totally cool toned, but my hair will turn red no matter what i do to it. I dyed it like dark brown and it still pulled red. I'm always pulling red. But I am cool.

Tan means does your skin darken if exposed to sunlight... tanning only happens in response to damage. My skin darkens easily and dramatically because i dont have as much pigment as my darker siblings who dont tan as much. We're all "black", that's not the point.

So glad you touched on the warm neutral/cool neutral tendencies. Some are a true warm or cool, but there are a LOT of us that are middlin’ between neutral and one or the other spectrum.

I think Brad's explanation is really confusing. Autumn is way more warm-colored season than summer (compare autumn foliage and white-bright sunny summer day). When we talk about color palettes the people with true autumn or the true spring color palette have warm skin tone. People with the true winter or the true summer color palette have cool skin tone.
