Well.. I’m glad you mention how to remove the glue. I have this awkward rear glass that I removed tint and was wondering how the heck I was going to remove that glue without damaging the rear heater lines.

Which chemical is best for adhesive remover? I have also heard rapidtac adhesive remover; any preference on which one gets the job faster?

I use a heat gun, warm it up and peel No cleaning needed afterwards

When it’s bubbled up it’s way harder!

I haven’t tinted one of those in a long time luckily. Hey what’s ur trick on getting the tint to lay on those large dot matrix

Even a scrub pad can ruin the defrost grid. Best to spray it with ammonia and cover in plastic or with a plastic garbage bag and leave sit for a while. It’ll soften and then you can wipe it clean

I need to have my windows re-tinted. They were originally done in 2001, when my Durango was new. Yep still running 22.5 years later😊 I'm thinking about having a layer of tint installed over the rear window privacy glass because the auto dimming rear view mirror has a hard time dealing with the LED headlight color temperature (6000k+)

I’ve been a residential and commercial glazier for 15 years and have removed tons of this glue with a small window scraper and soap/water mix But I’ve gotta admit, it was not fun

I need to do this too but i dont want to screw up the defroster

What's the reason/benefit of using a steamer over a heat gun when removing tint? I see people use heat guns when they put ON tint, but not when they take it off?

the water mixed with the heat from the steam helps loosen the glue some more

Put some gloves on. Otherwise your skin absorbs all that shit.

Access to the back glass plays a huge part of it but I just tell the customer say goodbye to the defrosters or a new back glass I absolutely hate scrubbing off the glue with adhesive remover

Or just use a razor blade for it all and ur good

Never use a razor blade on a rear window with a defrost grid

If you would’ve sprayed 409 on it then covered w a cut open black trash bag. Parked the car where the back glass was facing the sun. You coulda pulled the film and glue off in one swipe. But you have fun w your steamer.

Bro that ain’t just sun fade. Someone used some windex on that shit multiple times.
