The difference is that in a SF movie you get mindreading for example through technology with made up explanations. But if the same happens with mutant powers that is totally unacceptable and "unrealistic". And the money must have been very good. Not Red Notice level but good enough.

I personally think Snyder has always been an awful storyteller, his best movies are the ones where someone else has laid out the entire story for him already, but it’s fine if you think different. It’s nice to see a fan break away from the group think and thinking for themselves.

It's clear now that Zack only had a rough treatment idea that he used to try and woo Kathleen Kennedy. When that didn't work...he approached NETFLIX and they were more than happy to keep a cool filmmaker like Zack on the payroll. I mean why not? Then Zack had to quickly conjure up a huge sprawling universe with new galaxies and planets and races etc. It's a daunting task to then populate that universe with real people with real lives. He would've been much better served to have bought the rights to any number of fascinating sci-fi stories that exist out there and just do what he does best...direct action. This is way, way, way too much to try and make sense of. He didn't have a true idea. He didn't have a story to tell and it collapsed almost immediately. Start your trilogy at the beginning and show Cora in the Imperiam and her rebellion against it. Build her story and then get to all the other crap later. Screenwriting 101.

Please NO MORE. Second off... the "I will take a classic story/movie and re-tell it in a modern setting with pew pew pew and boom boom boom" is just... after 2 decades of re makes, re boots, re imaginings, re shits; I think HUGE majority of audience's patience is literally paper thin for any more of these scams. NO you do NOT get to be called a genius for making The Seven Samurai into a Star Wars movie. Eff off. Thirdly... the whole "a small village resists AN INTERGALACTIC EMPIRE CAPABLE OF INTERSTELLAR TRAVEL" premise is the one... a severely out of touch fourth grader might come up with, and would be kindly corrected by a well meaning teacher. Because OMG the scale of stupidity on that one is just mind boggling.

Yeah: With Scargiver, Zack used up all the "benefit of the doubt" he earned from 300, Watchmen & Man of Steel IMO Using that credit, I took a chance on Child of Fire: It wasn't great but I thought Scargiver would stick the landing and redeem the burgeoning franchise SMH Part 2 made it worse 😑 Going forward, I don't think I'll see another Snyder Film w/o first seeing what the reviews are for it 💯

I didn't mind the first Rebel Moon. Watched it on a rainy Sunday with a hangover, and it was adequate fluff for passing the time. I say that as someone who really dislikes Zack Snyder's films as well. It wasn't a good movie though. I enjoyed it the same way I enjoyed a Roger Corman film, only with less desire to watch it again. Can't say I'm that interested in part 2, but what really puts me off is the sewer of Snyder fanboys making out that everything he touches is cinematic high art, and the "haters" are conspiring to topple him because they are not smart enough to understand his genius. That shit can get in the trash.

Someone should smack Zach's hands everytime he does slow mode. He actually ABUSES slow mode. All that shit with the grain was soooo weird. Like wtf. I don't know how they'll greenlight another one. Pretty colorful turds are still just that. Synder took the worst aspects of all the characters and put them on screen and said "cool..." The luaghable man of steel and the highly pretensious 4 hour slog that was the Justice League. And now..NOW you are surprised that Synder is turning out garbage movies when he always had? Maybe stop endorsing pretty color tured making, we might get better wrtiten movies. Stop supporting and deifying hacks like synder.

Regardless of if you like him or not I think we need to settle what Zack Snyder’s overall reception is, because people are always warring over whether or not he’s liked, but based on the reception for most of his movies I think it’s pretty clear, he’s generally disliked but has a very passionate cult following, and so no more of this “People are just being unfair to Zack Snyder” BS, look, I’m a fan of Zack Snyder, but honestly at this point guys we gotta just accept that if you’re a Zack Snyder fan you’re part of a cult following, there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just how it is, just like with Michael Bay

You don't need to be a cultist to like Zack Snyder's films. That would mean you are incapable of critical thinking when it comes to his work. I like most of his filmography, but I think he directed four bad movies. The rest, for me, go from good to great without a single "perfect" film. I know a lot of people who feel more or less the same way about his work.
