These ladies simply execute at a whole different level. The 80's metal scene (late 70's to early 90's) I feel to date is THE best era of metal, and I lived through all of it. Lovebites has modernized everything from that era. blended multiple styles and inspirations, and I will argue from a musicianship standpoint they do it better than most, if not all from that era. And I included great like Maiden and Priest because I feel M & M are the best dual lead guitarists ever (my opinion), as their synchronization is flawless with great speed, and both are simply elite. Great reaction.

I saw LOVEBITES in the small venue in Paris 🇨🇵. They've played HAMMER OF WARTH. It was insane. LOVEBITES give me star in my eyes. This performance was crazy in bassement of a building with no air conditionned. It was hot as hell. LOVEBITES was incredible. I want to see them again. Asami was nuts, she played with the front row. I get a check from her when she Switch place with Miyako. My favorite concert at all time ( better than Evanescence, Metallica, Iron Maiden and ac/dc... I went to concert of thoses Band. I prefere the Lovebites show).

This is Fami's debut with Lovebites, Hence the showcasing of her. Interesting note, Fame has 700K subscribers on her YT channel, Lovebites has 135K subscribers on their YT channel. Of course Fami had an earlier start, her channel dates from her early teens. THey are in Europe right now, a lot of great videos. Being tourists, Miyako playing guitar with a band in Spain, several sound check videos too.

A bit of history: This was the FIRST CONCERT AFTER the COVID Pandemia and the forced hiatus for almost 2 years after the former basist quit the band on August 2021. The band though once whether disband or maintain the unity, so they decided to look for a NEW BASIST and on late quarter of 2022 they made an audition for a new basist. This process lasted a couple of months and they choose FAMI, the actual basist and THIS WAS HER FIRST PUBLIC CONCERT, so the girls decided to give her the spotlight on certains songs like THE HAMMER OF WRATH and JUDGEMENT DAY... On this specific first show, all the other girls in the band give her a lot of support and show her their simpathy approaching her on stage during this concert. The band and the audience were longed a lot for this RETURN CONCERT for LOVEBITES. This is the first song of the concert and when ASAMI (the vocalist) show up on stage, she yelled: "WE ARE BAAAAAAAAAACK!!!". For their outfits, they change their outfits once or twice a year, but always maintain the white/gold colors. Actually they have new outfits and they are touring for Europe and in September they will tour on US. ProgPower Festival first, and then DALLAS, SAN FRANCISCO and LOS ANGELES.

Sorry, I'll clarify. The search process for a new bass player lasted 5 months.🤗 In March 2022, the “5th Element LOVEBITES” (Bassist Auditions) competition was announced. It consisted of 3 stages and lasted from April 2 to the end of August 2022. 1st Screening. From April 2 to May 24, 2022, all bass players applying for a bass position were required to provide their videos (demonstration of playing the bass) and other information. 1st Screening was the longest because it was necessary to check all the videos that the candidates provided. About 250 bassists from around the world applied for auditions. 2nd Screening. Started on July 3rd. The Final. Passed on August 27th. As a result, Fami was chosen.

additional (to GrayFox14) "audition" notes: 1st stage submission requirements included COMPOSING & performing-on-video a bass-part for their short "audition track" made available to the public with no bass part in the recording. This compelled applicants to show how they can contribute to songwriting & arrangement in their style. 2nd stage included 6 in-person studio-performances of some LOVEBITES songs. (iirc) 3rd stage was two finalists. Each performed 3 LOVEBITES songs, studio-LIVE (& recorded audio/video). An interesting note, 2 of the 3 songs chosen for auditions were written by founder & former bassist Miho indicating that her compositions are an important part of their catalogue & will remain so. trivia: Fami had about 650,000 subs on her channel yet had never shown her face before, including the filming of these auditions since she did not know if she would become LOVEBITES "5th Element" & had considered abandoning her bass guitar endeavors as she had also been on "hiatus", though not in connection with LOVEBITES "hiatus". Fami's first presentation showing her face was the announcement video with brief excerpt of Haruna's song "Bravehearted". Full version is here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kWpqt8luk5bHetI.html To my knowledge, Miho's "The Hammer of Wrath" has opened every gig on their "The Thin Line Between Love And Hate" UK/EU tour. It was also one of the audition songs. 🐺 dreg👁

Asami is the perfect master of ceremonies, introducing each member at just the right moment, and all of them so pretty in her white outfits. They deserve much more recognition in West Asia, for talent, quality and positivity. A breath of fresh air in heavy metal.

This song is the second track on their first full-length album AWAKENING FROM ABYSS and, together with the first instrumental song 'The Awakening', was often used as the opening song or encore at their live shows until around 2020, and is familiar to fans. In fact, there are extremely few of their original songs with solo parts for the bass guitar yadrums, and this song was chosen as the opening track for this revival concert because of the aspect of the first performance of the new member FAMI (bass).

They are very passionate about their music, their fans (Wolfpack) and to each other. I grew up with bands who enjoyed ego wars, drugs, drinking and crazy behaviors. Lovebites has none of that. They let their insane talents shine, love each other, respect each other and are totally dedicated to the music and their fans. M&M also practice together away from the band, despite being polar opposites, to make sure that they are perfect together especially LIVE. Asami maybe only 4' 10" but she is a true stage general and she commands the band, the crowd and the stage. I often joke that her and Floor (6' 1") would make a great duet pair, but that would be a sight!!!!! Here Fami, the 21 y.o. phenom bassist, blends into the band perfectly despite the long hiatus it took to find her. They are currently touring Europe and are putting on some impressive shows albeit in smaller venues than they deserve.

This seems to be one of those songs where if you see LOVEBITES live, you're either going to hear it as their opener or as the first song of their encore. Like you said, it has moments where everyone shines, and I love that about this song. When I learned it on bass, I played it with all fingering like the original bass guitarist Miho played it. Then I saw this release, and watching Fami slap the bass gave me something else to work on. Japan has such a wealth of great slappers, Fami among then, that it's inspired me to work on that style and get better at it.
