What separates Angelina from everyone else today is not only is that she is a great singer but Angelina makes you feel the song.

I think this young lady has more mothers, fathers, and grandparents than anyone else in the world. So many of us have had the privilege of watching her grow up from 18 months old to 6,7,8,9…16 years in compressed time, that we feel as if we’ve personally raised her! We are all so very grateful to her family for being willing to share her with us while also protecting her privacy. I hope she continues to do it for herself as well. Her many parents and grandparents are counting on her and are so very proud of her!

At her last concert on July 10th, when Angelina told why she sings this song and dedicated it to her grandmother Mery Zamani, I understand this song completely differently. Before it was a beautiful song sung great, now it touches my heart every time. I'm absolutely certain that this video and the Elvis cover was recorded at the same time and in the same venue, well before Angelina's trip to Norway (Angelina did a TV performance there with two songs and 3 sold out concerts, there are many YT videos of it, info for the people who didn't know it yet) . Both high-end produced videos were produced by Angelina's own label. 💯 *AJ* 💯

Her vibrato is like no one else. The fullness in her voice is incredible. Such a warm rich sound combined with her breathiness is like no one else EVER!

The earliest recording I have seen of Angelina singing was a home movie when she was about 18 months old singing along with Whitney I Will Always Love You holding a kareoke mic. Angelina has always held Whitney in a special place. And her mother said this was when they realized that Angie had a special talent.

Every Angelina angel is so proud of her. Whether we are a adopted grandparent, parent or sibling, we feel a deep connection. I think it is because her music connects so strongly with everyone who allows it to.

Angelina is fearless and interpreted as she pleased, still giving tribute to the original... After all, one day Angelina will set the standard for how to cover...a song. She just can't be put in a box and be labeled, there's no one like her ..In the end, one day Angelina will be the ICON... loved watching you somewhat apprehensive seeing how closely she'd keep to your favorite version, but in the end, you MUST agree, she IS the up and coming standard for vocal perfection 😉 PEACE

AJ's performance is absolutely stellar. She has to belt near the top of her range, and she handles the key change perfectly. Very little vocal strain or pressure. Her riffs during the coda are from another planet -- and the way she sustains fry and vibrato and breathiness throughout her runs is her signature: easily the best I've every encountered. This is what happens when you bring a classic jazz mentality and ability to classic pop.

She has become the best all-round singer in the world, period! 16 years old. Thanks also to Republic Records and the team around her. And thanks to Angelina for letting us have old clips where you try all the time, and even play a chord wrong on the piano or guitar when you're practicing, and you choose to post it. It is what has made you the greatness you are today. No other artist does this today. Everything somehow becomes more real listening to you. Thanks for bringing real music back!

Wow - that was fabulous. I think she likes this song! On 10th July I watched her sing this twice during a 30 minutes sound check. Then she altered parts of it again, working with her band. In the concert itself she changed it once more. Also very emotional as she dedicated it to her Grandmother. I'm sure you will enjoy reacting to her concert performances. Her stage presence now is incredible.

Amazing, how she catches the different attitudes contained in this song. It is not just story telling, where we know, she is master. But this plays between demanding, begging, fear and hope, and she always finds the right way to express these certain emotions. In this case, I suppose, she sang it for her Grandma. In Sandefjord she dedicated this song to her. Like this "don't you dare walk away from me" makes real sense for me, the way she nearly cried it out. The way she sang this, is somehow near to Whitney's, somehow absolutely unique. This kind of archaic, full alto voice shows identity, personality, which is just Angelina Jordan, noone else. So although she didn't change the frame very much, she interpreted this piece of music her way, made it her own, just like "Bohemian Rapsody" or "Suspicious Minds". Really astonishing for a 16 year old. In two years we will consider this as practicing for the grown artist Angelina Jordan, called whatever people will call her (suspect just Angel😉) Somehow frightening...

Sorry, her performance is very boring, even if she finds new nuances to the song and her singing is technically very good (which I am not able to judge). Even If I am listening to the original version of WH there is not much to listen to (but technically and voice-wise) - it is too clean and mastered.

When somebody (like Adam) is talking how beautiful, gorgeous, amazing (or opposite of that) AJ or WH performance is, one (he) is actually talking about its own person (taste) or its own state of mind (judgement). Nothing more and nothing less... (and not much about music itself). It is all about how that I am listening to is affecting ME.

Great reaction as usual Adam! She actually did a cover of this when she was 13 and also sang it a few times in her latest concerts. Each time is just as beautiful. Studio version or live version. The camera production was much different in this video than in her past videos. This time the camera continually moved around her as she sang, gettting views from all angles.

Angelina always pays homage to the original song and the artist whenever she performs a cover on a classic such as this. But, after she Angelina-izes it with her interpretive approach and her twists she creates a whole new song and rarely does anyone "compare" her version to the original. Her skill set was evident when she was 7 years old (!) and she has continued to refine it to a point that we are in total awe of what she can do. The love in her voice not only brings life to whatever she's singing but it is a constant reminder of who she is as a person. Adam, I'm so glad you used the word "proud" when you described how you feel about her because that singular word says it all. She sings for us and her desire is to bring comfort and joy to us through song and for us to feel the love in her heart.

Wow!!! Sheesh, she did such a fantastic job with this iconic song! Looks like she's using the same antique store again, but who cares! The music she's been making in this store have been top tier and the videos visually beautiful. Love that she went back to the black and white again. Whatever this positive energy or mojo she's getting from this store is, I like it! Definitely proud of this well executed song!

I first heard her when she was 8 years old and I was amazed. Now she is an unbelievably brilliant artist combined with a physical beauty that only God on His best day could create. She is a gift to us, a blessing to us, a voice from Him.

@@dianedove1000 I agree with you, Diane. Op,eratic singing is very structured and doesn't allow much space for the type of style changes that Angelina gives us in so many performances.

Great job, Adam. Yes, Angelina did this in Norway in concert a couple of times. First June 22, she performed it twice immediately back to back (a second take was needed due to some technical A/V issue) in the same dress [that one has 1M+ views already]; and then July 10, after a 15-song concert, then two encore songs, then she performed this. Who does that! She is strong! And btw, you should at least offline go and see her first home studio version of this when she was I think 13.

Angelina elevated her interpretation from exceptional onto perfection. Wonderful!

She first covered this song when she was 12. She did that song in the same key as Whitney. She hit everything perfectly, and you could match her voice to a Whitney backtrack word for word. In this version and the live version, she lowered the key from G to E which allowed her rich lower voice much more freedom. This is genius. This is what gives the song such incredible body and like so many other songs, makes it her own.

I've been following you as a reactor for a few years, been following Angelina longer and you've both grown in your own ways, excellent reaction Sir. In my opinion, and totally unsubstantiated by any facts, this just may be her swan song from the child genius we all know and love to her adult world being more in the sphere of influence under her label Republic Records, I believe an album release imminent, the world awaits the genius of this vessel of light and love. Like you I was a little uneasy about this version by Angelina. She had done this about 3 years ago. Sounded like her home karaoke and it was not quite extraordinary. It was good to very good but she lost breath at some spots and the pitch wavered a tiny amount. This one shows that she is still getting better growing into her voice as it changes as she gets older. This and suspicious minds that was released about a month ago are both at a new level for her. When I think that she can not get any better she moves to event better performances.

Whitney was an amazing singer and performer and this is an iconic song and Angelina does it justice. Angelina comes in softly and delicately. Thank she changes and sings with power and conviction. During her latest concert she dedicated the song to her recovering grandmother who couldn't be there because of that. The combination gives it for me a strong emotional feeling. So incredibly beautiful! So wonderful to see her grow and get better and better

I was never really a fan of this song when Whitney sang it... And I wasn't really a fan when Angelina did it when she was 13 (Cause mostly she seems to be pushing to hard, and not quite able to sing it the way she wanted).... And now I can only guess how many times I've listened to it... Love it!

At the age of 12 turning 13,she wanted to do a tribute video for fun to Whitney. At that age,with just a microphone and a camera to record,she made one impressive take on a song that was soo much out of her comfort zone. She attacked it because she seeks ways to evolve herself,shes bold and fearless as far as her voice goes. Now she came back comfortable and confident enough to call it her official cover version. And personally speaking,i think she moped the floor with this song,and just thinking how difficult this song is.... shes a wonderchild. Makes people believe in reincarnation and stuff.

Thank you Adam,if Angelina would ever take a vote for an official reactor you would have mine.I think beginning with her Christmas Concert and that stunning performance of You Say Angelina has been consistently upping her game.Angelina's love of music and her love of sharing it is second to none.To me she is becoming a stature of an Andreas Bocelli,internationally loved and unrivalled for her uniqueness and integrity.

WOW. No one does a reaction better than you, Adam, hence why I joined your patreon. I am beyond happy that you loved this as much as you did. It is a great performance by ANY artist, let alone a 16 year old girl. Over the course of her last 3-4 performances we have all heard it. She's dropped an octave in general, and her voice just sounds even fuller. Her diaphragm support has always been crazy good, but now we see the next level. And even though her voice has turned deeper, she still slips right into her wonderful headvoice like a breeze. And WHAT a headvoice it is, right ? That she's already able to master her "new" voice like this is just mind blowing, and I just can't imagine what her future might hold. NOW.. I'm almost scared to say this, but you know what ?? I saw her in concert at Kurbadhagen here in Norway on July 10th (I think I told you already) and I actually think she sounded even better live. I suppose that has to be a very biased opinion, but still. LOL I believe I gave you a list of all of the recordings uploaded by Mattias Axelsson, right ? The first link in that list is for this song, which she sang last and dedicated to her grandmother, Mery Zamani. While I agree AJ is incredibly talented, but being able to sing in any style and genre is a bit of an oversight. Can you imagine her on a heavy rock/metal track? This doesn’t take away from her abilities in what she just best, but just realistic. I know my favourite artists can’t sing and perform every single genre, but it doesn’t take away from them at all.

This performance is beyond belief, the cinemaphotography, the ART, and this time we get to savor over 4 minutes of total bliss, no one is capable of doing this song justice like Angelina Jordan. David Foster and Linda Thompson, who co-wrote this ballad for Whitney Houston would be blown away by this performance. She changed the key to this song, but does it really matter as long as she has the ability to give each word, or phrase, meaning like no one else in this universe can. How can she evoke such emotion in each and every performance? Why do I get chills, or cry tears, or lose my breath when Angelina sing a song that I have experienced many times in the past without this happening? If this feeling only happened to me that would be ok, but it happens to billions of people. We play these videos of AJ over, and over again to get our high.

There just aren't enough superlatives. Angelina NEVER disappoints. I can't stop listening to her. Angelina has singlehandedly caused me to increase my KZread time by hours over the last month with her concert videos, Suspicious Minds, and now this. I just can't wait for the opportunity to buy a ticket to see her live.

Whitney Huston was quite possibly the finest singer in the latter half of the 20th century. Even she got to the age of 29 before recording and performing this magical trick of a song. Here is a girl 13 years younger with her "take two" in the studio. I have said it before - I am working out. Because I am maxing out my odds for hearing Angelina Jordan singing live with peak 30-something vocal cords. Maybe 2 decades until that happens. Think about that for a little while. I have heard her develop in real time for 10 years (6 to 16 years old). I may look forward to her development for another 15-20 years before she is reaching her full potential. I am not checking out before I witnessed that.

Everything about her is magic. To have that much talent at only 16 years old continues to blow me away.

Great commentary thanks! One more thing I noticed and I haven't seen a reactor mention before, is the amazing diction that she's now doing especially in the latest songs. She already covered the song back at age I think 12 or something, but the upgrade now is stardom level. She now has the vocal control, the diction, and the mastery of changing air pressure according to pitch. There are so many minor upgrades that she's been able to do that she has become a well-rounded singer, and in a few years when she graduates high school, she will have outpaced all other singers. And with her equally beautiful heart, she may very well become the most beloved singer of all time.
