    G’day mate. From my understanding the models from 18 - 19.30 have had a recall issue to fix software due to the fact that the earlier models were running a polymer gear set in the oil pump vs the 20.25 models now have a metal gear set driving the pump. (Personally I felt the older Polly gear set gave a much smoother gear change?) also there was a recall on some of the 19 models for injector problems? But I haven’t had too much info on that

I had zero issues with the chip on my first Raptor and bloody brilliant customer support from Berrimah Diesel where I bought it I decided to stick with what I was familiar with for the new Raptor. As for the catch can I wanted to try and eliminate the recirculated blow by gasses being fed back through the clean air system which feeds the turbos 👍🏻

    G’day mate, you are at the exact crossroads I was at 18+ months ago. I was without a doubt couldn’t change my mind on getting a 3.2L after having the 2.0L now for well over 18 months I’m very happy with its ability. Without question I did add a power chip to the 2.0L only because I was going to be doing a lot of towing and the extra torque provided by the chip suited me personally. I really like the 2.0L paired with the 10 speed box over the 3.2L with a 6 speed box. Ot takes a short moment to get used to the rev range that the 2.0L uses initially but after that it becomes the norm and feels quite relaxed.

  • @RoundTheFire

    @RoundTheFire

    4 жыл бұрын

    G’day Dave. The throttle controller basically amplifies the signal from the accelerator pedal to the engine. Without the controller installed to go from 0 to full throttle obviously you would need to push the pedal through its full range of motion. With the controller installed you can set it (to your personal liking) so that your first slight push of the pedal might be 25% this counters any initial lag in the response time from pedal to engine. Hope that helps? 👍🏻

    Round The Fire Ay Damo🤘🤘 With the Raptors side steps, would they support the weight of the vehicle if you put an exhaust jack under them or not. An exhaust jack would be an excellent choice if they could. The front end is made for one and the rear aswell underneath the tyre. Cheers mate 🤙🤙

  • @RoundTheFire

    @RoundTheFire

    4 жыл бұрын

    Chriso, exhaust jack on the step...I would only say “maybe” support the weight, only thinking that because the Jack bag would give itself a bit larger surface area over the step. I wouldn’t consider using a high lift jack on the step (emergency sure 🤔) as the steps are still only body mounted, not direct chassis mounts so you still have the chance of bending the mounts. Exhaust jack on a Raptor would also be a bit of a pain in the fart maker because the tail of the exhaust dumps just in front of the rear axle rather than out the back so you would be finding yourself climbing under the car to hook er all up. Same reason I don’t like using bottle jacks 👎🏼 downside with the wallaby jack is no lift point at the front of the Raptor without an additional strap.

  • @chrisandshazza01

    @chrisandshazza01

    4 жыл бұрын

    Round The Fire Yeah true about the exhaust location Damo, I had forgotten about that. I was thinking the steps would sorta lock into the top of the bag, and given how deep the step is would support it quite well, but as you said it’s not chassis mounted so is questionable the strength. Something I can test eventually. Bottle jacks are a bloody pain - I ended up with a big Masada bottle jack with our old 100 series with the screw out top which was excellent - but cost a fortune. I’ll carry one and test it out when the time comes anyway - spose they’re light enough. Got any plans with the big girl once restrictions are over

An exhaust jack is an incredibly light weight jack option. As for a trip when the lockdown is over...I would be lying if I didn't say I want to point the big girl straight in the direction of Cape York

    Good for Australia! Ford South Africa cancels your ENTIRE vehicle warranty if you put on mods like that. Heck, they cancel it for allot less!

    Love your channel and your truck, but in the long run I´d always run an ECU remap instead of an "ecu-tricking box"

    Cheers mate 👍🏻 unfortunately no one does a remap for a Ranger Raptor yet? I like the idea of a plug n play chip over ECU Tune for remote travel. Worst case you can undo a chip out bush yourself.
