I'm surprised legos worked as the bridge in a bass. I played bass for quite a bit and i remember the amount of weight those strings put on the bridge is absolutely astounding.
@_leaf-3525

All I could think while looking at that image is how badly that would scratch the wood if it slipped, as legos are notorious for being sharp and that is a LOT of pressure being put on them

Legos are remarkably sturdy. It takes a lot of force to break them.
@SeanMirrsen

Legos are plastic bricks. They're very good at resisting compression forces. Since there's no side-to-side force involved in being a bass bridge, they're basically indistinguishable from a solid piece of plastic as far as resilience goes.

I once saw a school bus that was converted into an RV & the guy used the wheelchair lift as a mini porch. He had a lawn chair bolted down & a space for a small grill. This guy is going places
"I get a minivan" THANK YOU. Been saying this for a long time, most pickup truck owners really need a van but they don't want a van.. cause vans are uncool while trucks are hellacool. Vans have enclosed, locked, heated space and it can have more or less seats, depending what you need. They are highly customizable and versatile, while trucks are what they are and what they have is open, unsecured, unheated cargo space that is too short. Bonus point for vans: you can stack high and strap to the walls.
@rustythecrown9317
Жыл бұрын
And if you're moving , they're shite if it rains , whereas the van keeps it all dry.
@HappilyHomicidalHooligan
Жыл бұрын
Not to mention that if you fill the cargo area, you STILL have the roof racks to strap more crap to AND minivans tend to be more fuel efficient than pickups are...
@mafiacat88

Maaan, same here. Trucks are great if you're hauling like, gravel or something all the time, or kind of gross stuff you don't want in the cab with you (plus they're great at towing), and often have better clearance for offroad; so they are amazing for a few select jobs and worksites. But for easily 95% of people who have a truck, a van would be better every day of the week. Bonus points for the spotless ones in cities-you just know it's never been used for truck things, and is just a status thing that drinks gas.
@0angelcxkes
Жыл бұрын
Just say you're a city person without saying it, people can have what they want, vans almost never have engine options as powerful as trucks, don't have a towing capacity nearly as good as a truck, PLUS BEDCAPS ARE A THING and who wants ice cream in a heated cab? No one. Not even you.
@mafiacat88
Жыл бұрын
@@0angelcxkes Yeah, trucks make a TON of sense in more rural areas. But most trucks aren't sold to people who drive in rural areas. And for city ones, vans work just as well, because those people are never going offroad, don't tow anything, and don't need a powerful engine since they're just doing 50 on a flat road. Also I think you are misinterpreting the "heated space" line-vans have AC if you want it, at least if they're from the last 25 years. I think they just mean "not open to the elements"

Regarding the telephone pole "repair", that's a temporary support to keep services running until they can schedule linemen for all the services on the pole to come out and transfer them over to the new pole. They often will use speed tape around a cracked pole for the same reason. Sinking a new pole only takes an hour or two. Moving the services over is much more involved. This keeps everyone's phones and internet running while they get prepared.

The dance dance revolution board is actually pretty simple, it’s actually 2 layers of carboard stacked ontop of eachother with bits of tin foil inbetween, all you have to do is make the 2nd piece of cardboard a bit bigger than the 2nd so when you bend it slightly it creates space to press down the tinfoil which can complete and electrical circuit. If you have it rigged up to an arduino it can input the four arrow keys into any game

0:06:00 the twin bike, yeah, they cost like $1200 new. The company went out of business and reformed as "Parbikes" and this thing's new model is like $5k but they can handle about 600lbs loading. Keep in mind the one shown can handle 700lbs total weight. Not saying it's overpriced to start but not an unreasonable price for a used one.
5:11 honestly, those look absolutely sick bro, i'd still wear them 🤷♀️
That Pencil sharpener....A few years ago I needed to turn a thick bolt into a spike with perfect symmetrical taper. Based on the tools I had, I came up with the EXACT same idea (drill and a bench grinder) and it worked flawlessly. A lathe would have been the right way, but when you can't afford the right tool sometimes you can get plenty good results with clever use of enough 'wrong tools'.
0:18 I mean it works. I even bet it works _really_ well because you're getting are purty much uninterrupted with good flow. But with good flow also comes dusts, debris and whatever small objects entering the engine, which are something that shouldn't enter. This is why air intake filter exists.

Cooling computers using cold outdoor air is a legitimate thing in some datacenters. They're built in cold areas in northern europe where it stays cold all year, and the whole building uses a heat exchange system or filtered air vents connected to the outside to keep the entire place at ~10 degrees celsius, so that the regular cooling fans on each machine are pulling in nice cold air for massively improved efficiency

@4:41 That is probably a temporary fix until the snow stops and they can get a truck & crew out to replace the whole pole. I've seen poles strapped to a temporary support with duck tape and nylon tie-down straps because they ran out of materials on hand after a bad ice storm.
PS- my inner city red neck neighbors growing up tried to make me jealous by making their son(4 years my junior) a dirtbike. They grabbed a frame from the junk yard, and stuck a lawnmower engine in it. I never have a huge crap about bikes, vanilla, motor, or dirt. 2:50 Considering the inside of your room is probably colder than the outside air, you would risk condensation forming due to the temperature difference (Kind of like how a cold soda can will form condensation on the outside after taking it out of the fridge, even if you initially dried off the outside and kept it closed)
