That was a Perfect Moment. ...I feel privileged to have been watching on MTV in the U.S. that day... it was like, "Queen? With all these New Wave acts? Aren't they a bit out of place?" {Answer: oh, yes. They were as gods frolicking for just a moment on the mortal plane, and Freddie was Their Voice.} Someone _did_ tell the crowd what to do, it's just that Brian May could not see because he was right next to him onstage: A golden moment! We are all very fortunate that this was recorded on video. No one will ever see or experience it's like again.

The PERFECT STORM happened when the powers that be brought all four men together. It happened and in life, there aren't too many perfect storms. All my miserable existence told me, NOTHING'S PERFECT, not even a perfect stranger. Those voices did not live long enough to hear QUEEN or they'd have known that PERFECTION is sooooo real. Devastatingly Perfect. Queen was and still is PERFECTION. I'm a bonafide Zepplin fan from my head down to my toes but for me, Queen could almost be as wonderful, as talented and as fierce as any group. PERFECTION, just like ZEPPELIN. Rock God's. Both heavy metal but in different ways. I couldn't choose one over the other even if my life depended on it. Freddie and Bonham, both equally gifted, just differently. Hope you got that.🥀

There was no greater performer or showman in my opinion. He was so electric and just oozed star quality with an air of effortlessness and genuine love of his craft and fans. If anyone was ever born to be on stage, it was Freddie. I'm so gutted he passed before I was old enough to really understand, but also feel so lucky to have grown up in a time when truly great music was still played on the radio. And it was more special then, because you had to go find your record and immerse yourself in it. Saturdays watching MTV or Rage were a treat, listening to bohemian rhapsody in the car and singing at the top of your lungs... just so many core memories there. I'm grateful that his magic has been captured for future generations but do also feel that everything being SO accessible dulls the senses somewhat. Queen will always be my all time favourite, if I could bring back just one person from history, I think you know who I'd choose.

The amazing thing is the crowd didnt know who was going to perform, so it wasn't like this was just a queen crowd, this was Elton John, George Michael, David Bowie ( I would assume those three were backstage) and countless more and this crowd just ate up everything he did.

In an interview when they were talking about this specific song when they were all clapping their hands together, even people who were in the states (for the other half of live aid) were clapping their hands. Just magical.

Frank Bird Agreed. I was born in 79, and yes, the 80's kicked major ass in the music industry... Queen, Guns, U2, Bowie, George Michael.... I think the 90's we started the club type music. Which I can still appreciate. But from time to time, I have to come here to get my Freddie fix... Cause, yea, he's a fucking legend...
