@the uh And let's be honest, music isn't what it used to be, the legends of the days you mentioned were part of a golden era that will sadly never happen again. This generation would rather listen to unintelligible mumble rap that glorifies living like a lowlife, music is dead. Can't change my mind, I've heard enough of the newer shit to know to write it off.

Quelle performance, c'est incroyable. Quelle osmose !! Et quelle présence de Freddie Mercury !! Vu le film il y a peu, énormément touché, à la hauteur de la légende pour un groupe sur lequel je ne m'étais jamais penché, et dont je connaissais pourtant pas mal de classiques. Respect éternel.

Best live rock performance EVER..... no questions, no argument, no exception. Wish I could have been there. Never in history has anyone had such command of 70,000 people. No politician, no president, no actor, no athlete..... nobody! What a wonderful person Freddie was!

The funniest thing about this was that no other band wanted this particular spot in the show. But Freddie was smart enough to know it would be broadcast in the USA at prime time and he took it over his agent's objections. People who had never seen Queen live got a taste of the magic, talent and charisma of the group. The rest is history.

Every act had a strict 20 minute time limit. Queen had rehearsed their set, cut out verses of songs, and had it down almost to the second--if you watch the end of We Are The Champions, you'll notice a little red light at the front of the stage come on just as the song ended. Their set was tight, focused, and it did indeed steal the show. Although, they were followed by Bowie, and he put on a hell of a performance too.

Freddie had a way of holding the crowd in the palm of his hand and used to change the scheduled set to meet the audience desire. He just knew. I only saw Queen once live, but I am thoroughly convinced he was the greatest front man of all time. This performance was pure magic. Long Live Queen!
