To think that Freddy was dying during this, and still gave a massive performance, along with the rest of Queen. They had a unique sound that nobody could duplicate. So much energy in every song. It was a great time to grow up. I feel sorry for young people now.
in my opinion, queen is the best band of all time. i'm only 19, but queen has had a huge impact on my life. music is my favorite thing on the planet, and i quite literally listen to everything, but absolutely no one could ever top queen. if i only had 5 minutes and 55 seconds left in my life, i would want to spend it listening to bohemian rhapsody. freddie mercury is the best performer i've ever seen. i wish i was alive when he was. long live queen.

The funniest thing about this was that no other band wanted this particular spot in the show. But Freddie was smart enough to know it would be broadcast in the USA at prime time and he took it over his agent's objections. How's the weather crowd was absolutely with him and the control he had. Magic!!
What unparalleled and incredible energy, great Fred 🤍⭐️👏👏👏👏👏👏
2024......Still the greatest live performance in history. It will never be surpassed, Pure unadulterated talent. Freddie had millions of people singing along with every note. Queen truly had the world mesmerised with this fantastic performance.

Listening to this again and again! 🔄 No words, just emotions! 💫
I am 73 years old, loved Queen than, love Queen now. So Queen in Baltimore, Maryland in October 2023. I know, l know, not Freddy but a Great show! With new technology Freddy was there to sing a couple of songs, they did a great job, Freddy should be very proud, Adam Lambert did a great job!!
I was a teenager when Queen was super popular. I listened to their music even when studying for our exams.😊 The greatest band of all in that generation. I'm still listening in 2024. Who's with me? 🤣

I'm from Ukraine. I'm 36. In 1991, when Freddie left our world, my father was crying in front of the TV screen... I didn't understand then. He was and still is a big fan of Queen. It was my father who, in my distant childhood, discovered this beautiful music for me, which was played in our home on vinyl records that my father collected, and I am grateful to him for this.. Today, reviewing this performance, I seem to be returning to the world of complete childhood joy .. Thank you!
Yes. His music is very much alive today.

I saw this live (on TV in the US), and 39 years later I'm still in awe.
The day he passed, our entire high school had a moment of silence. Many thanks to the teachers who understood and respected how much music meant to us. Thank you, Freddy. Thank you, Queen. Pity most kids today will never remember Live Aid.

You can't remember something that was long gone before you were even born, the comment made no sense whatsoever. I however do remember that event and we were so upset it was somewhere we couldn't at that time get to lol. The TV was enough but for those who were actually there it must have been amazing.

@@ravenmoonspicer4781 Yep we had a section in our morning assembly at school, including a silence and recognition of his achievements. That was in a UK primary school too (ages 5 to 11.) No idea what day the assembly was (clearly not Sunday) but it absolutely happened, and I remember it vividly, as queen were such a huge part of my childhood.

I’ve watched/listened to this 25 X or more. As screwed up as our world is this makes or should make you happy. It works for me. Yanni is another that can bring the world together in his music.
This is one of my most watched video’s of all time. 65yo. 20 minutes of pure genius showmanship…
In 1985 I was 7 so never had the opportunity to see this event. So I see it on KZread and Movie theaters trying to understand the ethos of an era that saw me converting from baby to toddler and to teenager.
To anyone who ever comes across the video now or in the future - Never let this one die! Queen on the sets of Live Aid IS extremely special.

I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
I feel so much joy knowing Mary and Freddie were kindred souls who found each other. Their spiritual love was rare and wonderful ~and survived without the distracting focus on physical insecurities and intimacy.

I remember this like it was yesterday, clichéd as that is ! But 1985 was yesterday to me. I LOVED the 1980' s. The music, the fashion, the whole thing. I was 23 when Live Aid happened. I was a student nurse, and my 3 flatmates and I sat and watched the whole thing. We sang, we danced, we laughed and we cried. It was a very moving event. We felt very much part of something bigger, something important. It was a real zeitgeist moment in time . In our naive innocence, we thought that with the amount of money raised, it would bring about such changes in Africa. We were wrong of course . But I will NEVER forget that day 😊
