Paula, north Florida girl here. I absolutely love these unedited videos of you. It's such a better glimpse into the person you are, in comparison to when someone is rushing you or when you are edited down. I love the pauses and the ums and everything because it's real! My 11 year old daughter grew up listening to you on your show and loves you and your voice. She is enjoying the videos too.

@To Be Honest You have to remember the premise of these daily quarantine videos --using items you may already have in your pantry. Paula does have a low cal, low fat cookbook. I think it's called "Paula Deen Trims The Fat" or something similar. Maybe in future quarantine videos she'll pull a couple of recipes from that cookbook.

@To Be Honest If you "let" Celebrities influence your children that's on you. It's your responsibility to influence your children and "you" need to explain these are desserts for special occasions, not every day. That responsibility is not Paula's or anyone else for that matter, if you don't want your children eating these things it's your responsibility to ensure they not watch these videos.

To Be Honest oh please. Then don’t let YOUR kids watch. These recipes aren’t meant to be eaten daily. So ... if *_YOUR_* kids cook them daily then *_YOU_* should have a better influence on *_YOUR_* kids’ dieting choices. Also ... to be honest ... you don’t need to include other’s children and speak for them, and say “our” children.

Paula, you are such a blessing to me. I am older in a wheelchair now but I did so many wonderful things when I was younger and healthier I did so many things. I served in the Army for 8 years, teacher, pastors wife and so much more. I adopted two children and now have a son in law. Both my daughter and her husband are special needs and have taught me so much more then I have I have taught them. I can so relate to not wanting to go out as I fought to work through finding myself at 46 single and adopting my daughter by myself. Now, I desire to cook and do things I thought I would not be able to as I find myself in my chair, on a tight, tight budget and it is from watching you through the years and especially right now in this pandemic. I got the virus and was very sick but I am working to recoup erase and your videos have so encouraged me. You have encouraged me. I praise God for you. You truly make a difference and I know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. God loves you so much and I do too!

My family is BIG on peanut butter. When we were living in Tennessee, my husband lost his job and all we had to eat was a jar of peanut butter to share between me, my husband, our daughter who was barely a year old at the time. Also, we had to be careful with what food we had, so all 3 of us shared 1 sandwich. Times got better and we found a bit of prosperity. I lost my husband to cancer 8 years ago. My daughter doesn't remember that the only thing we had to eat for a time was that one jar of peanut butter... and a little bit of bread. She doesn't know why, but she doesn't like eating it. I think it's because of this impoverished experience. That was 13 years ago. Still, I think I'll drag her into the kitchen to make this. Even though I'll most likely be the only one who ends up eating them.

She and daddy also visited your Savannah restaurant many times and planned their trip around that :)!!! She passed that year of 2015. She loved ❤️ you and your family and everything you stand for ..... Your true and your so real and relatable. And mama always made these every year at Christmas.... My sister and I have continued her tradition with these .... I cannot express how much your videos -especially the quarantine series- mean to me .... I just feel so close to my mamas spirit when watching your videos ... As I know if she were here she would be here watching every one as well .

Hi Paula, I am seriously enjoying your quarantine videos. I have already made a few recipes and made door drop deliveries to my family. My family raved about the not yo mama's banana pudding and I couldn't believe how much I loved your grape salad. I'm from Maryland and no one I know would have ever mixed shredded cheese into a fruit salad. I was skeptical but when you said that you would make that salad for visitors from the north and they loved it I figured that I should give it a try. What else can I do during this quarantine, right? I'm a dental assistant so I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back to work. My family loved it and so did I. My family has already decided that I'm bringing all the sides to the next family cookout! Thanks Paula for being you. I just adore watching you. Elisa😁

I made these last evening, and they turned out wonderful, so easy and yummy. I just dipped my cookie scoop into cocoa powder between each scoopful so it didn't get sticky, each ball got just a touch of cocoa flavor (the way I like it), and I didn't need to roll them in anything afterward. I made mine with 2-4 cups Milk powder (Nida brand), just enough to make the dough come together nicely, a regular 16 oz jar of peanut butter, and about 2 cups of good honey. That yielded 45-48 balls. Next time I'm going to try this with Maple syrup instead of honey.

@@kimmalone802 , I know it...!! Isn't that crazy ? I also remember when kids were allergic to milk ... they got orange juice instead of milk . There was no such thing as lactose intolerant , but I remember milk hurting my stomach so bad and there is no telling how many kids that were going through the same thing at that time , because no one knew about lactose intolerant . You had to get a doctor's excuse to get orange juice . I remember begging my mama to get a doctor to write a note to the school so I could get orange juice instead of milk , but she wouldn't do it . By George... You best believe I made sure my kids didn't have to go through that at school and suffer like that . My son got orange juice, because he was lactose intolerant . It didn't bother my daughter thank the Lord , but if she needed it changed I would have taken care of it . 😉🙂

I hope that you continue to do this format once the unpleasantness is over.

I bought that cookbook for our son when it first came out - we still have it and use it! You have helped us create so many wonderful memories in our kitchen, I cannot thank you enough. Growing up, I was never allowed to cook with my mom or do anything in her kitchen. Watching you has taught me so much about the joy of family and creating delicious dishes together. I will always be thankful for running into your show on tv, all those years ago. It changed so much for me! 💖💖💖

I love cooking, and my daughter is five. She LOVES being my helper in the kitchen. She can now make her own fried eggs and scrambled eggs with me supervising of course. But she loves being in the kitchen. She always tell me that no ones food taste quite like mine.😂 just like my mommas food and grandmommas food. If we love being in the kitchen together.

Ms. Paula, is such a Beautiful Storyteller, my mom made peanut butter balls & rolled them in crushed graham crackers, they were so good, they had honey, coconut, raisin's,in them, sometimes she used crunchy peanut butter, but the crushed graham crackers take it to the next level ♥️

I used to love peanut butter balls at school also. When I grew up I worked for headstart school and got the recipe. Made them for years for my kids. Dipped them in chocolate coating at Christmas for parties and gifts. Then when my grandson had milk allergies, I had to experiment and figured out that cornmeal makes a good substitute for the powdered milk.

People, if you don't like Paula, then you don't have to watch her channel, or make rude comments if you do watch. I've never met Paula, but I've eaten at her restaurant in Savannah a few times. Delicious Food. I ate at Bubba's restaurant on Tybee island many years ago, before it closed. I did get to meet her sweet brother. He was walking around greeting and talking to everyone. I'm sure Paula is just as sweet as Bubba was.

My mom has made her version of peanut butter balls every year for Christmas and that is the only time she will make them. They contain.. Peanut butter, powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla, raisins and coconut. All that gets mixed up and rolled into balls then dipped into melted semi sweet chocolate chips melted with Gulf wax which gives it a thin shiny coating. They are creamy, rich and you can't eat just one.. Pretty much like buckeyes with coconut and raisins..

Love you, Paula...I just ordered your “My First Cookbook” for my two little great grandchildren. I started teaching my sons how to cook when they were two years old (Never too young!). When my oldest son was only eight years old I was sooooo sick with the flu that I couldn’t get out of bed to fix dinner. He said to me, “I’ll cook dinner Mommy!” He baked a chicken with potatoes and a vegetable, and it was delicious!!! I LOVE all the “extras” you put in this little book because they are sooooo important for them to learn all those things. TY Paula...I can’t wait to give it to them!!! 💕

They had those when I was in school in the 70's...they seemed to disappear. A friend's mom worked in the cafeteria, wouldn't give us the recipe ☹️. I was told at times they would add cocoa to it, but ratios I don't know...other times they would mix chopped peanuts into them, but Ms Paula, I was like you and got up in line real quick ( for applecrisp too), was very lucky that I had a friend whom didn't like anything unless it was a PB&j, or fluffenutter...so I got hers too!

We have something like that we make here in a Ohio especially during OSU Football games and the Holidays. They go into everyone’s cookie tins we give out to friends and family. But we call them Buckeyes. Because we Pour a chocolate sausage over too of them and when they harden and pick them up the bottom side is exposed and they look like little Buckeye nuts that fall from the trees up here in Ohio. Good idea huh 🤔?
