Quinoa is great! She forgot to mention -- it needs to be rinsed off a bit in cool water (in a fine sieve held under running water - maybe 30 seconds). That helps remove any of the naturally bitter "saponins". Nature protects quinoa from being eaten by insects/pests by giving quinoa this light saponin bitterness, easily removed. Rinsing and then cooking (or toasting) make for no bitterness. Healthier than rice.

Thats the same recipe my Mother used to make back in the early 70's! (in Oklahoma, with Coors beer) I was too young to drink it then, but got the recipe from her when I became old enough! We always called it Mom's Margarita.

We never added the onion and garlic because we would have milk gravy for breakfast over our biscuits and no one would want onions and garlic for breakfast. And I never heard of sawmill gravy until about two years ago - no matter what meat drippings we used to make the gravy, whether it was bacon or sausage, we Southerners where I'm from always called it milk gravy. Delicious!!
